Watchman could have saved lives in California boat fire


Federal investigators released a report on a boat fire last year in southern California that killed thirty four people the national transportation safety board says there was not a required night watchman on the boat conception delaying the detection of a pre dawn fire off Santa Barbara some of the passengers bodies were recovered wearing shoes indicating they were awake trying to escape but were overcome with smoke smoke inhalation was listed as the cause of all thirty four deaths the cause of the fire was not determined separate court documents say federal criminal charges against the boat's captain are imminent the surviving crew members told investigators they were never instructed on emergency procedures I'm at Donahue
