Listen: Vince, US And Hertz discussed on Rooster Teeth Podcast
"Where the guy kind of breaks down why the black hole photo looks the way it does very test. Let's healing. Another day the other day that I thought was really good. It was a if you ever seen in Vegas by the guy, captain disillusions the guy who's the face guy. He's got like half of his face a silver. Good. Vince. He makes good videos, and you did one about frame rates, which frame rates in video. And why we do things the way we do. And I'd never understood why in the US TV was thirty frames a second. But in the UK twenty five frames a second, and in his video fucking explains it, I guess like when TV's first came out, they didn't really have the technology or processors to regulate the the frame rate. So what the engineers did at the time was tied it to the trinity current and electricity in the US is sixty Hertz. So it's like, okay. We'll just have that have a frame every two oscillations and in the UK it also at fifty Hertz so that to twenty five, and that's why we have NTSC in pal. Well, the resolutions are different. But the frame rates are different. And the also talked about why we use twenty. Nine point nine seven a frame rate instead of around thirty which is something I never thought about bugging at twenty nine seven when they went from black and white to colour the color signal odyssey will start interfering with each other. So to combat that they offset the video signal by point three frames that we wouldn't bleed over into the audio seems like such a quick fix like this"
