Federal judge refuses to block campus sexual assault rules


A federal judge has cleared the way for new rules to take affect the change how schools handle sexual assault complaints the rules which will take effect Friday undue guidelines from the Obama administration which had been hailed by advocates for forcing colleges and schools to confront sexual abuse in may education secretary Betsy Divo US issued her new policy which expands the rights of the accused narrows the definition of sexual harassment and reduces the scope of cases that schools must investigate some of the nation's attorneys general filed suit to block these changes arguing fewer sexual harassment complaints will be filed in schools will be less equipped to protect students safety but a federal judge rejected those arguments Jackie Quinn Washington
