Attorney General says Trump fired U.S. attorney who refused to resign


More fall out over the firing of a U. S. attorney Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer requested an investigation Monday into the firing of Geoffrey Berman the now former U. S. attorney for the Southern District of New York who is overseeing enquiries into associates of president trump in a letter to the department of justice's inspector general Schumer asked that a probe look into whether Berman it was removed for partisan political purposes as well as the confusion surrounding Attorney General William bars initial claims that Berman resigned prior to trump's eventual decision to fire
