Tornado hits Dallas leaving widespread damage and power outages


Tornado touched down in Dallas last night north Dallas widespread damage well over a hundred and forty thousand customers are still without power this morning Dallas residents say they didn't think their homes would ever get hit by a tornado hours ago everything was fine we were up here and then now everything is just kind of don this is just crazy you don't think that it's going to happen to you and then it does in the nation like there's nothing you can do about it about a half dozen Dallas schools going to be closed today in the tornado zone these were damaged to at least partially by the storm the list includes walnut hill elementary Thomas Jefferson high school Kerry middle school several elementary Pershing elementary and Burnett elementary and we're still seeing about a hundred and forty five thousand power outages across Dallas fort worth the overwhelming bulk of those are in Dallas County about eighty thousand people still without power even around
