For sure the first quarter going down as the worst in a very long time either the worst first quarter ever or the worst quarter for this a long time for the major indices Dow looking at a twenty two percent drop in the first quarter which would be its worst quarter ever and for the first quarter its worst quarter since nineteen eighty seven the S. and P. dropped about nineteen percent for the first quarter its worst quarter since two thousand eight its worst first quarter since nineteen thirty eight and that includes the twenty percent rally since the outbreak lows reached on Monday March twenty third market added to the gains on Monday with that rally today though it's pretty flat we have not had a flat session in a very long time not since the outbreak selloff started in late February but at the moment the Dow losing fifty two points at twenty two thousand two hundred seventy four nasdaq up twelve points at seventy seven eighty five the S. and P. down eight points at twenty six
