Listen: Everything You Need to Know About the TWA Hotel at JFK

"Our way to the U K I stopped over in New York City spent a night at the JFK airport not in the airport but as you'll recall they have this new swanky hotel which is all aircraft airports themed the Twa Hotel and that was really really really cool will definitely have to figure out how to plan a meet up there. At some point did it was kind of last minute thing so he did have a couple of our friends of the program program join me for for drinks Dave Ambien tiny woman and that was very nice of them to come out and spend a little bit of time. It wasn't a big formal meet up but we'll have to do that added at some point because join poolside on the top of the hotel so the pool is an interesting thing. It's if you're not a hotel guest. There's quite a steep charge to use the pool guest guest so you can. I believe he can actually bring one guest but then there's a charge for your second-guessed. Oh okay so sir. That's when you said to Dave sorry Dave Tanya. Actually I did not realize this until the next day because otherwise it would have probably been worth the effort to try and out there but no we had a good time in the There's a couple of different places where you can enjoy a beverage. The Sunken Lounges Fun Retro E and they've got the old flight boards all set up to to change do different things and then you can go out on the constellation the Connie and it's all set up as a bar on the inside I'm so we had a couple of drinks out there actually just just a champagne toast I think and a lot of other interesting things just you can walk around the debt little bits and pieces set up where you can see some of the history of Twa the you know old uniform Slayton stuff and just bought the payback not the fabrics they printed it but never actually turned it down uniform but there is actually a blurb about it in the Little Museum area. It's definitely there so highly recommended if you're spending the night if you need to spend the night near the airport at JFK it's a great location if you're an Aggie if you need a room that overlooks the ramp and the runway that's awesome. I'm when you're there you can go up to the pool and the bar of their and overlooks most of terminal five and three three four me right our planes out. It was like a three forty six hundred convention will have like three of them parked ma'am. I didn't know they were really super long international terminal four. That's four yeah four okay yeah I was trying to think I know there's one number. That's kind of that. I think five is no longer. They're the no five is jet blue. Oh well. They reunited yeah. That's why I wasn't sure on numbering I should know because I flew into the one terminal on acme cme actually are beautiful pan. AM terminal was torn down a couple of years off. I don't know all I know is that I came in on an acme regional flight actually actually and we parked all the way the very end of the terminal. My bags arrived at the baggage claim well before I actually got there and I was the second person off the plane before yeah they really did. You just don't get enough exercise really run for those bags so speaking of that how so how was the run in Erie so it was just really a training run for me. It was actually a full on marathon that was happening. I did not run the full marathon 'cause I've been dealing with some combine our injuries so discussing with the the coach that I work with decided just to do one lap of the two lap course and run it out at goal pace and more or less was able to do that through about ten miles of the thirteen miles but pretty happy with that for for what I've been dealing with and trying to do recently that was okay so oh now you've got us up you were in New York and then you now is the reason why you stayed there is because you originally had planned to be there a little bit earlier in the UK but there some kind of an issue that prevented that not entirely so we plan to when we bought these trips so justice is not great. He's he has really hard time sleeping on airplanes especially for overnight flights or long distances. I don't personally don't really have that problem. I can sleep pretty much anywhere but I thought well. This'll be really nice. It's vacation. I'm going to book us a nice flight in business class with lie flat seats and just as one request was can we be on the airplane with the the fewest number of people and I was like we're talking like triple sevens and seven forty sevens here so we actually decide to fly out of New York before I actually looked at at all of the details of different plates just because there's a lot more options so I was like look we could do a daytime flight if you wanted to. We could do and evening play like let's I'm going to be in Pennsylvania anyway. It's a nice place to meet up. We'll collect ourselves there over the UK and then I went oh I know what we could do. Let me look into this so British. Airways has a flight on an eight three eighteen. There's all business class. It's only thirty two seats and if you book it for an advance it's usually not any more expensive than regular business. The Replacement Cosign for Dr Cohn Concord. I know which is very similar. We've given it the same call sign and now we have a eighteen as opposed to the conchords lying goes goes right into London said London City doesn't city and that's like you know we'll get to London city and then we have a few days before the goodwood revival starts so we could basically either stay in London name. We can go someplace else in Europe we could do anything from there is really easy to catch another flight somewhere well about two weeks before our plan travel. is when British Airways decided there was going on strike so yeah that unfortunately affected our outbound plate late was right in the middle of the street days so had to scramble a little bit so it didn't quite work out the way I planned we did end up down the back of a triple seven but okay Britt with a lot of other full flight yes and then we we ended up going to number for a few days to sightsee eighteen or excuse me what's Jesus did well dumb was is it wrapped in the sheep stomach now. This was fried fried. Hanging is actually really good. It was actually very tags on we had like a pulled pork sandwich and you could have a haggis spread one of the lake condiments on it. It was lovely beautiful city had had never been before it was nice to walk around for a few days and taking some of the sites but pretty much covers almost every I mean. Did you ever go back to work after we did the last uh. When did we do the last show? I don't know I dated Thursday last Thursday I did. I went to work on Friday. Okay okay there you the next week okay cool excellent any more I did also go to Niagara Falls. We Oh they really need to be doing is looking through all my photos that I've taken from the past now I had so I got to Erie Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon and and had a few hours to kill like six or seven and I really didn't see any reason to stay in Erie since I wasn't really resting and preparing for a race per se they said you know I've never been to Niagara Falls. It's two hours away. I can get there before it's dark."
