Automatic TRANSCRIPT

Infamous moment and this week when chicago cubs gave steve bartman a world series ring from their two thousand sixteen world series it says bartman on it it's got the the w the famous cubs w the bay by outside wrigley after um after every wind got all diamonds scott it looks like a world series ring and honest to god one and the cubs extended it to two bartman as a gesture of of good faith after so many years of harassment that baartman has received from from chicago fans and there's some great work on that espn dot com has done sort of talking to bartman of an in what his life has been like since since the end drafted this this foul ball and the cubs say we hope this provides closure on an unfortunate chapter of the story that perpetuate throughout our quest to win a longawaited world series while no gesture can fully lift the public burden he has endured for more than a decade we felt it was important steve knows he has been and continues to be fully embraced by this organization when i read this in a train hello teary i found it to be a really sweet gesture and a really good understanding of fandom and and what it is to to be a fan at of a team and and and you know obviously pay a lot of money to go to a game and then be soak side of the help ball's coming to you you have a natural human reaction to reach out to it and then um to have all that be turned inside out and and warped and and all of a sudden he blamed for the stunted progress of a thing that you love has to be so so devastating and so that the the cubs do this i i found very sweet and very um very in touch with with what was to be a a modern fan in today's major league baseball us that's it for our for our significant did it and that's it for the show to neil we'll be back next week from vacation kate hopefully will be in the studio.
