Listen: Heather Nauert, Nikki Haley And President discussed on Michael Medved
"Of the two in the population. Jon Meacham entirely correct and spot on and the fine historian fine commentator. Meanwhile concerning president points. President Trump's appointment of Bill bars. Attorney general if this can't inspire near unanimous. Okay. Let's come together and confirm this guy and move on and try to return the Justice department to where it should be. They have reported now on both CNN and MSNBC and even hostile media sources hostile to the Republican party into the president. They've reported that people in the Justice department are very reassured that this very solid well trained, deeply experienced widely respected professional who has experience in the Justice department is coming back to help that department at. A time of polarization, and where there is is this unique sort of division between the Justice department and the White House which shouldn't be especially given the fact that the president has the right to appoint his own attorney general and deputy attorney general and the key personnel in that department of government one eight hundred nine five five seventeen seventy six as to the appointment of Heather Nauert, do I think that she is going to follow the example of Nikki Haley and be such a courageous and effective. And I think remarkably successful UN ambassador, probably not she doesn't have any political experience. Really? She's never run for office. Nikki Haley at run for the legislature. She was a two term governor in South Carolina, very successful governor. And she clearly is a rising star in. The Republican party. Heather Nauert who's forty eight and highly competent, and who we've had on this show, and I've enjoyed having her on the show. She I think is a very good Representative for the United States, she will speak well at the United Nations, but it seems to me that part of what is going on here with this appointment is that they do not want to have the kind of division that existed with Nikki Haley, and with the secretaries of state that's happened before with UN ambassador because embassador does not have to be a cabinet level position. In fact, the report is that if I should say when Heather Nauert is confirmed as our new UN ambassador that the position will be downgraded to not have a cabinet level. And that's probably a good thing. Because I think what's working better right now for the United States is President Trump and Mike. Pompeo or more on the same page. Then we're President Trump and Rex Tillerson, and they wanna make sure that there is not some kind of alternative voice on foreign policy that does not speak as clearly for the president and with the president. But with a team of Heather Nauert and John Bolton and Mike Pompeo. You may hate that team or you may greatly respected. And I respect it. Frankly. That there's no question that that team would be United and on the same page. Let's go quickly to Steven in Los Angeles. Steven you're on the Medved show. Oh, hi, Michael. Love your show. Thank you regarding President Obama's Intel agents, you know, if it's fine for molar shoe, ignore the attorney client privilege of it's fine for him to ruin Michael Flynn's life fine for him to throw people like Papadopoulos for for misstatement in jail. Then why the hell aren't these people held accountable for allowing Hillary to destroy subpoenaed evidence to perjure to do all the things that happened? Why is it fine for them to use the dossier and? Here. Here's the basic point. They spent a great deal of time investigating Hillary Clinton during the campaign the results of that where that press conference, which I agree was a fiasco with James combing. But it was a fiasco because he brought it all up said that what she did was irresponsible. It was lamentable. It was deplorable. But she couldn't be convicted. Now, whether the current new attorney general will agree with that. I don't know. But we will find out. I we'll be right back on the methods.."
