Mitch McConnell Sees Democratic ‘Power Grab’ in Proposal to Make Election Day a Holiday

Reforming the election process. Or is it more of a power grab for what it's worth, I'm Cheri Preston. What do you think of the idea of getting the day off to vote? It's something that Democrats in congress have proposed. They think it would help get more people to the polls. Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell, not a fan. Bill would make election day. A new paid holiday for government workers and created an additional brand new paid leave benefit for up to six days under the proposal, federal employees would be dispatched to polling places that also helped people who wouldn't necessarily be able to get there. That's what America needs another paid holiday and a bunch of government workers being paid to go out and work. Some are on our colleagues on the other side on their campaigns. The Bill would also require presidential candidates to release their tax returns and compel states to adopt independent redistricting commissions, the Democrats, call it election.
