Listen: Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett, Jay Gruden discussed on The Bill Barnwell Show
"I don't just because there's just this insane Moyle Turkey. For some reason. I kind of inexplicable between Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett. They just seem so tied together, but he's already getting question. Jerry Jones is already being asked this preseason about Jason Garrett job status. Could he be fired if they don't make the playoffs? So it's going to be an issue that we're going to be talking about all season, but you know, outside of a, you know, wildly disappointing, you know, like you know, four win type of season. I have a hard time seeing Jerry Jones firing him. You know, Jerry Jones, I think is a guy who could get distracted by shiny object. You if there's a super really hot name guy out there that could kind of reenergized this often maybe, but it just it just kind of almost starting to feel like the marvelous central centralization and Cincinnati wear. I don't know what it would take for them to actually divorce and for Jerry Jones to move on. I mean, I will say. And this is shocking to me jerk. It isn't Gary had this job longer than any other head coach during the Jerry Jones iris a longer than Jimmy Johnson longer than Bill Parcells longer. The way Phillips obviously Chan Gailey Barry Switzer they've being every every coach Jerry Jones has hired has lasted a shorter period of time that Jason Garrett and some of them have had much more success than Jason Carrington. Certainly various wits rate more success. Jimmy Johnson had more success obviously. So. Tim, to me, it's closer to three. I do think that I that shiny things party mentioned. I think really comes into play here. If you say, I don't know, Nick Sabin hinted to Jerry Jones that he was willing to go coach, the Dallas Cowboys would Jerry Jones given a mysterious thought, I think he would. I think that if they go seven and nine this year, and that's not how the question to me given how bad or how, how many injuries they already have, how injury prone their roster is. Could I see them making a change? I absolutely could. I don't think Jason Garrett has unlimited job security to me it somewhere between a, I think I think it's like a two point, seven, five. It's close to three, but I, I don't think it's as much as say Adam gates in Miami. So to me, I think it's a, I would say to almost three. You seem more a, it's more job security than that though. Yeah, maybe I'd be like at two point two, five to two hundred five. But yeah, in that same range. That's fair enough. What about Jay Gruden in Washington? Where I did, I looked it up the other day. I don't believe any coach has made it. Three seasons without making the playoffs under Daniel Snyder. And this would be third season for Jay Gruden without making the playoffs if they failed to make it with Alex Smith in Washington this year, yeah, I put him as a four. I think he is kind of in a playoff there, bust type territory. I believe he got like a one year extension, you know, keeps them for being a lame duck right now, but you know, really has the long-term questions about its future there. And you know, look what? He's doing nine and seven, eight, seven one, seven and nine. You know, these are a lot of mediocrity going on. And how long has Dan Schneider going to be okay with that? And his history shows not very long. He has very little patience with his head coaches. So you know, I think this is a year that Jay Gruden and the Redskins need to get to the playoffs. I think Alex Smith could help out and he's got a very good track record vetting his team of last for the year in Kansas City. So if this is not a competitive team in the NFC east, I think they're going to be moving on. I think. He's a classic four to me. It's playoffs robust for Jake Gruden. It can maybe even be a five, but I think he's a four, a solid for to me, someone who I think has been a baby should have been under maybe should have been under the chopping block for years now, but someone who does not seem to have much risk of losing his job as Mike McCarthy in Green Bay. Where do you stand on Mike McCarthy? After what seems like it's been twenty five years Packers head coach.."
