Listen: Lebron, Lebron James And James Harden discussed on Big Time Basketball
"Champion one of our main regular sear Caramba or real. Tough shoes Koran I WANNA get to this list with you scouse already upset with me today about about a list of the most impressive guys that I've seen so far this season but first and foremost how we doing. Thanks for hopping on doing good man. How you doing doing well chronic you in La work in the studio so let me ask you? How many different places do you work Mike? Fifty us on. Hey I'm Atlanta right now. So obviously you know I. I do Fridays and Saturdays in Atlanta but also do in-studio for the Lakers Roughly about twenty games and also work play by play wizards on a regional tip so I don't have to travel as much so when they come out west. I'm doing some of the Games. CBS Mama's doing my man's all over the place. Let's get into this because this is what we're doing right before we brought yonker on I had the list of my top. The most impressive starts to this new season. And I'll go down the list here. Honorable Mentions I had were Bill Brandon. Ingram Andrew Wiggins trae young young and Lebron and then my top five was hard at five and number four Pascal. Siachen at number three. I had Karl Anthony towns and number two. I had Jaanus and number one when I had Luca Danni is that fair list or am I missing. Anybody should people be higher lower. What do you think well I think just off top when when you look at what you're doing I I will say Janas number one because he is the reigning MVP and he actually has gotten better We still need him to shoot the ball better. But it's coming in specifically last night you still saw teams dropping back or what I was encouraged by was he wasn't doesn't too hesitant to take the shot and most importantly they got the victory and he did step up and clutching knock now key. Free throws number two Lebron James. I think that you're seventeen. And what he's been doing is just amazing. No signs of decline and he's playing both ends of the floor. I think he's elevated his game and he's taking on all challengers so like that's the super impressive to me because you're seventeen eighteen. I'm retired in on this skype which you got so yeah man that speak volumes and number three James Harden. I think that you know the kid averaging close to forty points a game. There's assess I think you bet people thought the him and Russell Westbrook coexist with each other and look what they're doing Number four I think Luka he's become must watch television he is as real as advertised. This is not us going out of our way to sell a product and draw you to something. This dude is special. He is putting on a demonstration ninety night out and my my last guy in this was closed it was tough that I had a slap on this list but now at the say for the first time in a long time I'm watching the Lanta Hawk Games and I would have to say trae. Young trae young has me watching the Atlanta Blackhawks play basketball and I've never tuned into their games unless it was one of my teams or one of my guys were they put up astronomical numbers were up. I'm just one I just want. I'm intrigued by what they're going to. Put up statistically so those are my top five guys Kerama follow up with this. Lebron the thing is i. I can't for the life of me. I'm I'm thinking about it like all the time. How is he seventeen years in thirty thirty four thirty five? He had all all those years where he was kind of coast in Cleveland. I kind of thought. Well if you're coast in eventually that's his way to preserve energy for the play offs and he just took his game aim to a whole new let his energy to a whole new level his defense to a whole new level. That's what has impressed with the Brian. I'm not even Lebron cheerleader. Like Cerruti and all the people over at ESPN like for me. I watch him and I think like how is this possible. He is just as big in strong he'd not as faster jumps his high but he blows through coverage it goes where you want picks defense is apart and yet you look at the dudes in his draft Graf class and they're like most of them are not even in the League or even mellow right now is like one guy from his draft class. That's hanging on it. I cannot get over the fact that he is dominating the NBA at this age may too. And that's why I felt like when you talk about the top five was when most impressive you have to immediately say say Lebron James. He's still the best player on the planet and I was hesitant to say that At the beginning of the year because of the momentum that Hawaii Leonard had created for himself. But you know you see Lebron what he's been able to do how he's been able to preserve his body as you touched on scale He had a lot of games off. I fifty fifty plus games off. I think last season and that was the first time in a long time much needed rest. I think it was therapeutic. Then he got back to you know the basics and and you know how it is as a player. Someone tell you that you can't do something it was like. It was a new challenge for him. Lebron always being praised for the moment that he arrived in League League because he was the chosen one he was the face of the franchise in the face of the NBA. He was the heir apparent to you. Know guys like Lebron Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in the passing of the torch was gonNA take place at some point but now people are saying that you know what maybe the next one Kevin Durant is better the him. Maybe he needs to pass this towards in you know. Lebron is like a word. I'm trying to play with my son. I got another four good years in me. That's out there putting on immigration. And he's show people that he's the best player on the planet. I mean outside of just like you know physical also amazing physical ability and just like God given physical strength. Why do you think he's been able to last this long and play it this a high a high of a level of what is he doing wing? It has to be doing off the court you like. What is he doing that? Other players aren't doing at allowed him to be an MVP basically in your seventeen well. I thank physically taking care of his body one. I think that he's put a lot of pre and post into his body and what I mean by. It added like prevention injury provincial protocol. He's going above and beyond to prevent things. He's got leaner I think a lot of young guys. That's that's that's that's watching Lebron from a fire they WANNA have longevity in his space Zion Williams and all these young guys you know in order to have longevity you have to take care of your temple you have the e correctly directly in if you want to preserve your joints in your cartilage in your body. That's the cert- some of the things that you have to do. And then he's changed his game. Lebron was a guy that lived in the paint. Still Bill can do that in moments in spots and be super explosive but at the same time. He's also knocking out his perimeter shot. Now he's masked the game name in has about high basketball. Iq where he's able to manufacture points back into the file on canal. Free throws now shooting a stream Lee high high-percentage but he's getting to the line enough and he's preserving himself by being a facilitator cutdown points a little bit but hidden adding then on insists he's leading leading assist right now so he still showing that I can still be the best player on the planet by distributing the basketball as well so a love. What he's doing? He has a young twenty six-year-old hybrid next to amount and that's one preserve his career even more and there's another aspect of it to just confusing. Tom Brady as an example. He drops back in the pocket. I like what I see. I get rid of it. I'm not going to take a hit. Lebron when he's getting downhill. I truly believe that the game is own Tra or Tra slow motion for him and he doesn't compromise himself. If you remember like D Wade was always getting downhill and always hitting the deck after he would lay it up. You know. There's a lot of guys at throw their bodies into another guy the ABROA- for whatever reason all these years getting downhill all these years Duncan on all these years of challenging big at the rim. He's really never like took crazy crazy. Hard hits like if you think about an Alan Iverson type always hitting the deck and so I don't know what he's thinking how he's doing that. Ah Maybe it's just a natural. Maybe it's because of all these years of of doing it and all these years of light plane pick and roll but if you watch him he hardly ever like even when he steps on a guy's is ankle and he twisted his ankle he kinda bounces it up and gets right back out there were other dudes. They tweaked her ankle. And he's guys out three to six weeks when they do that. And I. It's amazing. How he takes hits doesn't land on his back? He tweaks his ankle. Doesn't end up getting carried off the floor. He he gets knocked in the air. You think he's GonNa Fall Somehow. He lands on his feet. Like he's a cat or something like that so that is also impressive adage at his age to do stuff like that like they say you know the best ability is availability and I think that he's been able to be be available for long time and I think that's also a skill scout when you talk about landed on your feet like the cat and being able to dodge traffic and injuries. These were as certain guys are going there like elected to talk about with Dwayne Wade and certain other guys that you know probably took years off the career because they the impact of the floor four and waited they failed. You know it added up. It's a rural toll on the body but when Lebron he's you know been injury free for the most part his career first first time was last season and we all all because loses sight. How do Superman hurt? I ever seen him ailing at any point. So impressive man. We're all watching his. I want to ask about James Harden Guy had number five on on my list and you know Scouser GonNa call me a hater as I don I. It's not that I'm a hater. I will say I I don't I don't love watching harden but I could appreciate like the numbers and his team is winning so like yeah I would take hard on my team and heartbeat. He's one of the top players in the League obviously skill wise. You know the way that he has stepped. Back is unstoppable. He's maybe the most unstoppable player score in NBA history. I Know Darryl Barrymore. You sort of made that point. I don't know if I agree with it but do you think like do you think that his game is going to get the respect that maybe some people think thinks that that he's do because I think like when it's all said and done obviously he. He doesn't have the ring yet. That's going to be a big. You know a check on the list of him and Future Hall of fame career but people all still kinda think. He's a little bit of a game at Koran. And that like he takes advantage of the system he takes advantage of the rafts then he takes advantage of the analytics. Do you think that James Harden's going to when when when when it's all said and done well he get the credit that maybe he deserves and his numbers would suggest he deserves another Jay Z.. Quote Ban is just a game player to the plate. I'm telling the rules the rules are the rules in. It happened with so many other guys where you know. They took out his own or because she was so dominant and The two nine position of being able to stand in the paint James Harden his unique in special in so many ways. If you look at him from a physical standpoint you wouldn't even think that he was wanted greatest basketball players offically ever to play the game of basketball and eh when you see him out there. What can't he do offensively? What can he do he can go laugh? You try to shave them. You send a double team Adam you blitz them you put them. I'm in a red. You can play out the pick and roll.."
