New York congressman Chris Collins from the buffalo Rochester area resigned ahead of today's expected guilty plea in an insider trading case we get details from WCBS reporter mac Rosenberg the two term Republican congressman asserts New York twenty seventh district is charged with insider trading and lying to the FBI Colin sat on the board of an Australian drug company innate immuno therapeutics and got word that one of its products was a complete failure federal prosecutors say he then called his son Cameron and tipped them off before the news went public in the stock price plunged Cameron sold more than a million dollars in stock and shipped off Stevens our ski the father of his ex fiancee Collins won reelection amid the charges a year ago the sixty nine year old was facing trial in February with his son and sorry ski all three had previously pleaded not guilty a change of plea hearing is scheduled for Tuesday mac Rosenberg WCBS newsradio
