Listen: Bill Nelson, Rick Scott, Andrew Gillum discussed on AM Joy
"I want to lastly, go back to for non for just a moment because I have to put this one point in that a lot of folks that I've been talking to in the state have been making the top of the ticket was Bill Nelson. We've been talking about the fact that he was drafting along behind Andrew gillum who was third on your ballot. If you've got your ballot Bill Nelson. I want to ask you this question of somebody who was observing the with the polls were the way that the election was taking place. Bill Nelson said in the Miami Herald regarding whether or not he needed to turn out African American votes. I don't think I have to get the motivated he said so much of the prison population. It's African American. I think what they see is disenfranchisement over a million people in the state of Florida. And I think that is going to be motivation, not only for people who feel strongly on the issue you've been rehabbed or you've done your time. You want to get your rights back? I think it's going to be a motivator staffing your committee. It was basically saying that amendment alone on its own would do the motivating. And so I do wonder if when Democrats look back at this election. They'll wonder if perhaps had Bill Nelson kind of done what Joe Biden did for Brock Obama and really try to sort of reverse this attempt by the Santa's camp to paint, Andrew gillum as criminal scary black guy. I don't know. It's just a question that people have been asking me, if you think that as a strategic matter that might have helped no question about it. I mean, listen Bill Nelson, the signs were there that he was in trouble that he was actually going to be in the situation that he finds himself in now he's in recount, he may squeak it out. But if he ends up losing this race, the signs were there wasn't just joy with African American voters. It was with his. Panic voters as well. I think even on this very program. We talked about the fact that there was credible. Polling that suggested that Scott end descent this were making inroads with Hispanic voters that they should really have been making. And I think you speak to the point very correctly about what Bill Nelson could've probably should've done when it came to the African American vote if I could just make one last point, you know, listening to Rick Scott's clip that you played earlier talking about unethical liberals trying to steal this election isn't very reminiscent of the very same language that Brett cavenaugh who. Now sits on the supreme court was making charging playing the partisan card. Keep in mind, Rick Scott, it's still the governor of Florida and just yesterday. He sent Florida Department of FDLE agents to oversee supervise the process in Broward County, also shades of Brian Kemp in Georgia. Unbelievable with this un-american Republican party is now doing when it comes to elections. Yeah. We didn't. And we haven't even talked about the fact that the person who if he wins the governor's race. Opened his race talking about monkeying it up and now would have to govern probably most diverse state in the country. And how would that work to have that later showed depending on how the come out? Steve Allee Elliot will be back with us later in the show for not a Monte, always talk to you. Thank you, man. Appreciate it and joy and next up the election over doors either because it's not over. Anyway, putting you next.."
