Listen: Lebron James, Lakers, Vegas discussed on Afternoons with Marcellus & Kelvin
"Okay. Whatever you gotta do, get it done. So Alan Slee joining us host of Lakers talk eight to ten tonight. Vegas, the west gate sportsbook has laid out its betting lines for win totals this NBA season, and they. They put the Lakers at forty eight and a half winds, meaning you can bet for them to eat a win forty, nine or more or forty eight or less how you lay in that bed. If you're in Vegas, Allen, I heard you guys talking about this a little bit earlier, and you mentioned is actually think about last season. How competitive the west was forty, seven wins. Got you. Win that. Got you an eight. See, that's where the Minnesota Timberwolves. Denver Nuggets just fell short. And it's funny when you mentioned forty, eight wins, and it does kind of sound low, but at the same time in the Western Conference, that's actually a pretty good season. You know, you get forty eight wins in the west. That's the great season. You're sitting in a in a in a pretty decent spot. I, I think they'll go a little bit about forty eight, so I got them right where you have Ryan right at fifty games. Why think the Lakers can get to? And I think the the main reason why say that Ryan, how many games were the Lakers in last year where they didn't have LeBron James and it was it was guys like Kylo coups Mojo's rookie or Brandon Ingram in a second year, Josh art in these players? Laker. Were in a ton of games. Coups maxi mentioned at one point. He he and one of the assistant coaches counted, twelve games that they felt like they could have one. So for me, it's not just the addition of LeBron James and regime Rondo in great kind of veterans that will help some the young kids, it's because I think the Lakers got natural talent. Lot of it starts with the kids I put on my right of that fifty Mark. And what's funny to me is I'm I'm predicting right now. There's been my fischel prediction. Forty eight wins in a six seat which I noticed some Laker fans. It's going to sound underwhelming, but I think that's going to be more or less what you'd have for three seen. Like I think the difference is going to be negligible at most. Like if there were more than three teams that won fifty plus games, I be shocked by the way Andy, Portland was a three seed played the pelicans, a six seed pelican swept them in the first round. And and a lot of that when the only reason why I mentioned that is those teams are all so close to each other, you'll right. Who who, who do you? Who would you say is the third best team in the Western Conference right now and whoever that is. Are they that far from the eighth team when you have LeBron James, I don't think you're much further from anything other than the warriors because they got they got three or four guys, you know that LeBron has to contend with. But when you have the bron- on roster and a deep roster full of youth that we can argue with them and and some experience winners, you're you're at than anywhere. And you know what's crazy. See, coach be I own note you think about this. So coach virus, Scott told me I was crazy earlier that I felt like the Bron James and his school initiative just gave an extra on a extra energy LeBron level up. See there's level status and love. Brian. James leveled up and as LA native as a fan of the game as a teammate that energy carries in that pushed me over fifty. Now he says it has nothing to do a basketball, but I feel like it has everything to do a basketball when I played for the. Clippers and I'll try to be short. We were so darn excited to gets LA and play with Chris Paul and playground. Everybody had these story years where everybody bought in and did all the little things that you're just excited to be there and it shows on the court come let me brother Vishwa. I'll say this. I say this, look, there's a respect level to LeBron that goes to another level now it's not now. Now it's not just on the court. I mean, look at all the tweets over the last couple of days from some of the comments. How many different people came out really to have LeBron's back.."
