W x TV HD to Clearwater. I'm Reed Shepherd. Our top story. A 12 noon South Carolina man has been arrested for trying to kidnap the W W e wrestler and hold her hostage. Hillsboro deputies say 24 year old Philip Thomas is accused of breaking into the home of wrestling star Sonya de Ville near Dale Mabry and Van Dyke in Loots News Channel eight's Justin Checker. Deputies say Thomas parked his car at the nearby Idlewild Baptist Church. From there, he walked to the home and cut a hole in the patio screen. After looking for hours until the homeowner went to bed. Deputies say he opened the back sliding door, which set off the home's alarm. Deputies say Thomas had a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape and mace. They arrived around 2 45 AM and took him into custody inside the home. He's charged with three felonies aggravated stalking our burglary of a dwelling, an attempted armed kidnapping 26 year old DeVille was able to escape it on harm. Thomas had apparently been planning the kidnapping for eight months. He's due in court at one o'clock this afternoon. School is back in session in Manatee County Fall semester begins today, Some students will return to the classroom while others will learn from home. Those who return to the classroom will have to wear masks on the bus and in the building. Superintendent Cynthia Saunders tells news Channel eight. They have been working to make sure students are saying they have a whole time epidemiologist staffed to us from the health Department.
