Listen: Joe Flacco, Pittsburgh Steelers, Willie Foster discussed on Rodney Harrison
"But once again because it's three times Super Bowl champ mcginnis filling in for Rodney Harrison, it's the linebacker blitz. I'm Dan Schwartzman. Coming up in about seventeen minutes Willie lands to the questions you've been sending to Rodney's Twitter handle great football questions at Rodney underscore Harrison. But it's a big week nine of the NFL season. Some key matchups to get into Willie and one. That's always a nice rivalry Pittsburgh against Baltimore this one at Mt. Bank stadium. It's a fun one. And maybe it's kind of lost its luster. Do you think it's kind of lost its luster the last couple of years? No, I think I played in this division. And I know it's probably not the same. It's got different characters, but the same movie, and you know, the ravens in Pittsburgh when these two teams matchup. I don't think there's a a love fest going on. I think they understand their divisional rivals. And usually when you speak and talk about. Playoffs in week sixteen weeks seventeen it comes down to these divisional games. And both these teams, you're right. Absolutely. I usually fighting for one of those playoff spots out of that AFC north, but there is some drama, and you gotta love drama when when you have a match up like this, and it's a rivalry as you mentioned Willie. Joe flacco after about four weeks ago, the Baltimore Ravens knocked off Pittsburgh in their first meeting. Listen to what flacco had to say because it's coming back now to kind of bite them in terms of being bulletin board. Material. It's not like today was one of the toughest, Pittsburgh Steeler games. I've ever played. I've played really really tough football games against these guys and probably one fifty. But I think a lot of pride in some of those games because things were really really hard out there. Ooh. Stirred up stirred up Joe stir it up. Reaction. Go ahead. You get these comments all over the place. You get them from sucks usually not from flacco from subs and other players. I remember I mean, they got some some vintage sound bites. And I think he's right. I don't think the Pittsburgh Steelers defense is the same. I don't think they are as physical as they were before they got some talent got some talented players. But in watching that game Joe flacco felt like he left some plays out there when he played the Steelers defense, and it's not like, Houston fear. The Baltimore Ravens defense, which is right now. The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best defense in the league. So that fear for for the for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense, probably still there. But for Joe flacco that Steelers defense people used to fear them as well. And I'm just he's he's been in some of those tough grudge matches. And it is the difference. It is a bit different. But he never says that that's interesting. Here's what Sean Davis of the Steelers safety said, quote, I don't like that comment because I feel like Baltimore week. I'm ready preparing my body's if there's going to be a bruising if he has the same response after this game remote good Willie foster goes quote. It was kind of shocking. He didn't feel like he was hit hard enough. We'll see how it goes. You don't really see a quarterback saying anything like that? So you said, really? No, no. Because now that's that those comments that Joe flacco made his up all over the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room all over. And if find the coaching staff, if I'm one of the coaches on the coaching staff, Dan, I am reading those quotes to every defender on my team. Hey TJ. Guess what? A buddy down the street said. Events a Williams. Hey, guys. Guess what? Man, you guys don't hit hard enough. This guy didn't even take a shower after the game. He didn't fill it. He felt like he could have dropped with twenty eight more points on you. I'm stirring, the pot as much as I possibly can. There's more ravens defensive coordinator, wink, Martindale, he talks about John Bell and the Steelers team. And are they better? Are they worse without lady on take a listen to a wink Martindale had to say I hope he shows up like right before the game. And they wanna play. I, you know, look, it's it's like this. I think it's like since two thousand fifteen there's."
