Listen: President Obama, Stacey Abrams, President Trump discussed on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell
"While went to Georgia from Florida today to campaign for Stacey Abrams for governor in Georgia both sides. No, it's all going to come down to turn out in the Georgia race where it is tied. Here's some of what President Obama told Georgia voters tonight. I want a leader. Heads up for other people's healthcare, even got healthcare. I wanna leader. End up for other kids kids being bullied. I wanna leader who will stand up for somebody else's right to worship as they. Please. Great. How they worship. America. And that's what all of us need to stand up for with clarity. And with patriotism and with purpose. Those core values that bind us to our fellow citizens. No matter who we are. Because that's what Americans are supposed to do. Well, that's what America's supposed to be. What state? Joining us now from the plant Jerry Reed MSNBC's national correspondent and the host of AM joy on weekends here on MSNBC joy, you were at the Obama Abrahams event. I hear the president losing his voice there. He his campaigning his voice away. It looks like classic Obama up there on the campaign trail. Yeah. Absolutely. That was at Morehouse college. He had a lot of people from the house there, you had people from Spelman university of people really from all over and President Obama had campaigned earlier in the day in Florida, obviously for Andrew gillum. And then he made his way to Morehouse that can't pay for Stacey was horse. He received a rapturous. Welcome people were chanting vote vote vote in the crowd. They were very excited to see him Lawrence. I it's interesting that I listen to the earlier Obama speech in in Florida and a little bit of the Trump latest speech. In the car, just as I was driving around today following around the Abrahams campaign, and I gotta tell you it's sort of like visiting two countries it sort of it's hard to believe that both of these two campaigns exist in the same country. You know, the current president is so focused and fixated on racial panic, quite honestly on fear and on rage. And then you go to these Stacey Abrams events like the one more house and an earlier one that I went to in Macon Georgia where you had John Lewis completely different countries. Obviously more diverse the crowds are more diverse these Abrahams campaign, she and Sarah rigs Emeco, two women something that political the political mucky mucks tell you can't do it's to running one black one white. It's this incredible coalition full of women, and it's hopeful it's just a different world from what Donald Trump is presenting. And in the different world of the discussion of pre existing conditions. Health healthcare policy is is just something like we've never seen. I mean, we just have one side just plain lying about what President Obama said about it today.."
