Listen: Dr Don Shirley, James Dolan, Lakers discussed on Mason & Ireland
"So do you really believe that? He would consider selling the next after the long history that he's had as an owner. No, I believe that. If you really want to sell your team, you don't do a big profile story about it you go to an investment. Remember, how they had those investment books that only certain for a lot the big books. That's the way you sell a team. I think you're I think he's just BS in because he wants a headline. Let James Dolan is all about James Dolan, James Dolan's in the ego business. I I don't think he would sell the Knicks. I think he's just talking about it, by the way, I think the Lakers are potentially a five billion dollar franchise face on the brand just based on the worldwide brand and the network on the building. Now, they don't but worldwide brand and the network I think that's a five billion dollar can be especially now, I think if the dodgers went back on the market right now. Yeah, they probably spend all that land. A ton. You know, how much you know, what tarantula actually think is really valuable now the Rams though. Yeah. But the stadium now Stadio the stadium. The stadium is going to cost five billion dollars to build. Right. So you would just by the Ramsey by the Rams and the state, correct? And you know, it's crazy. Stan Kroenke just reaches into his left pocket and pulls out five billion dollars. Yeah. I mean, he's got like no no public money necessary. Check. All right. Let's see big shot up to my favorite movie. The you're so far it has called if Beale street could talk based on James Baldwin directed by Barry Jenkins, the guy did moonlight. Now. My second favorite movie the year is called the green book. It starts Shala. Ali and Vigo Mortenson tells the true life story of black pianist, Dr Don, Shirley, who traveled through the south performing to white audiences during the sixties now in November. The real Dr Shirley as a real person. Complained and said the movie is a symphony of lies. Oh, the writers. Of course, took liberty to an actual real life story. Mashaal Ali actually called the family to apologize. Here's the question. Would you rather be forgotten? Or immortalized by movie that takes liberties with your life story. Do they make them? Look good. They make them look good. Yeah. I'd rather be immortalized in a movie that takes over horse. Nobody knew how Dr Don Shirley was before this. It's a wonder it's a it's a great movie. It's a feel good movie. I'm in in, you know, people have said, they they whitewash the civil rights movement, and and they do to some degree. But Don, Shirley will now be remembered because of this movie, I would much rather have the movie rather than fade into obscurity, definitely. And like one of my favorite movies bohemian rhapsody took a tunnel. Liberties, of course, seen story that whole well, my going to give anything away if I say it now, I mean, it's actually like a bio pic. You going to give anything away? How long has it been and we still in the statute of limitations, or you know, I think we're in the statue bohemian rhapsody were okay? I'll phrase it. It's already happened. This is, but so you'd have to know the real history before you see I didn't know that historically inaccurate. Oh, I think I think every movie is historic big huge historical inaccuracy, which is like apparently Queen didn't break up right before Live Aid. Like, they never officially broke up. So in the movie where they Bill this.."
