Listen: Saratoga, Larry Larry, Andy discussed on The Horse Racing Radio Network Podcast
"When the gates opened on alabama day today people just charging in getting their picnic tables getting everything set up on a day where you know the forecast is a a little bit shakey. Nobody cares they wanna be saratoga and that's and that's what's so cool about it. You you know what i i always start the day after the first set of changes by as i always say doing my walk where i love this kind of amble around the track a little bit and say hi to people and you know take some pictures and just chat and and just you don't we'll get that anywhere else. I mean i'm nowhere else. I've been at least in and to me. That's that's what it's all about. I mean saratoga would be nothing without the fans that we have here and <hes> that's what makes me want to want to go to work every day and have a good time. I love every bit of it. You gotta see larry walks around unshaken babies and kissing hands. I mean shaking hands and he's a baby. It's a it's a it's quite a given out twenty dollar bills literally giving out twenty dollar bills fans larry the actually made <hes> you tell us larry larry has twenty dollar bills right now well andy <hes> certainly always accused me of handing out twenty dollar bills while it's doing my walk so our <hes> our sound man <hes> at saratoga pat <hes> took a photo of me in the analysis booth and put put put it on a fake twenty dollar bill with the eighteen sixty three club on the back. I was literally handing out the other day and came onto the talking horses set and gave andy in the big east twenty much to andy's dismay can tell he was very upset about it but it's part the fun of of this whole this whole place you just you just can't stop having a good time here. That's great. I'm sure the fans really appreciate that. I know there's a lot of people that look forward to having a beer with you after the races and i see that the tweet sometimes you know come down. We've got a beer waiting for you or whatever and you actually go and join those people in and shoot the breeze with them and i think that's so unique i mean i've been going to the racist for a long longtime. I've i've never known any announcer to do that except for you and i think that's fantastic or the other day. I actually had a guy tweeted me and said <hes>. Can you come down to my table at the at the very top of the stretch where picnic tables at the you know the extreme top of the stretch. I have a baseball all i want you to sign and so i went and tracked him down and it's the first time i've ever signed a baseball for <hes> any. He put it on his <hes> his <hes> showcase at home right next the dan. Please act which i thought was pretty funny. He actually knew how to sign a baseball. I i wasn't sure how they do it with a little awkward but it was it just another saratoga moment you know it's great fellow fellow lefty. Dan zak yeah to left me and him. If you think andy was made about the twenties you should see how that i it wasn't willing to tell it wouldn't take it from me to may pick three later on that not happy at all so before you get to call some of the best horses purses and some of the best races in the country <hes> throughout the year i used to call the triple crown the breeze but getting to know you as well as i have you have of more fun with some of your other calls and shoot namely to. I know you were a little upset earlier this week. When hey it's enrico go palazzo got the money finger lakes you man tony kahlo got to give the call instead of you and you turn to me and said i'm elma j fudd bud could make up for it friday and sure enough owned by my good friends mike in libya imperial libya of course the president of the b._c. We have their big charity events coming up thursday night at saratoga national over prime. There's still tickets available be c._c._a.."
