Listen: Lisa Saulters Gruden, Khalil Mack, NFL discussed on The Herd with Colin Cowherd
"Ninety million guaranteed any through four picks against the jets. Last night was atrocious. This gives him five career games with at least four interception does the most of any quarterback in the NFL. Oh, wow. The league in two thousand nine. Let's compare that to some other starters drew Brees Matt Stafford has done that five times drew Brees on the three flacco to Matt Ryan, sue Cam Newton one and not surprisingly because he is has the greatest touchdown interception ratio in NFL history. Roger ties not, but that was oppressive last night. You know what? You know. It's interesting because my knock on Stafford has been that is mechanics. He sloppy, like I think match a terrific arm. One of the best arms, you know, he's, he made me not Cam, but it's an Jay Cutler Joe flacco, but his mechanics can erode his details aren't great, and that stat, you just pulled out. I had no idea, and I look at that stat and I'm like, yeah, yeah, that doesn't surprise me because he's always been a guy where I'm like he, he just isn't buttoned up all the time. It is mechanics. I feel like at this point, if you are an NFL level quarterback, you probably have a pretty good arm. I'm starting to kind of waver on the like. Oh, he has a big arm thing like mode, quarterbacks in the NFL can throw the ball really far and heart. Tyrod Taylor, Alex Smith case keenum are below what I'd want. But to your point, most guys are good or good or better. Right. I'd much more concerned with you being accurate. Yeah. And with you making quick great decisions, then how far you can throw the ball over those mountains. So Jon Gruden one day after Khalil Mack prove emphatically why he's a former defensive player of the year and probably future defensive player of the year. Jon Gruden wasn't gonna. Let that be the final word. No, not Mr.. Gruden. And then interview with ESPN's Lisa Saulters Gruden had this assay. Obviously, Khalil Mack didn't weren't player, and that's what's being Mr.. He was under contract, Lisa and he was under contract. He never showed up for an OT. A never showed up for training camp and it was obvious. He wasn't gonna show up for the season. So you know, don't forget that. Well, you could make that argument for Aaron Donald. The difference is the Rams were in constant communication with Aaron Donald through the process and Khalil Mack and the raiders were not according to reports, not in constant communication, holding out for more money does not mean that don't want to be somewhere trains actually that you do want to be somewhere. You just want to be compensated based off of your skillset. Yes, that's, you know what it is with with Gruden and I just I just noticed that watching his interview. He is a master at saying something while smiling, so it doesn't seem like he's taking a shot because he's like, you know, smile. He's like, he didn't want to be here. Yes, that's what's not. You're not paying attention, it's going to be here. Well, I mean one of the things that I always thought made Jon Gruden star on TV and he he's, I'll tell you something. John is really good on TV. He is one of the all time best he is. Absolutely. I mean, I've been a TV thirty years. I'm not sure I've ever seen a former coach, go on the air and hit it out of the Park Day one. I mean, parcels wasn't great on TV Bill Walsh. There's been a lot of guys that go on TV they're, they're smart, but they don't work grooms. TV story is an absolute presence about him, but you can keep, you know, a president can have a great presence. If the economy goes into the tank, we're done with your presence.."
