FM and AM a 20 NPR News and the New York conversation. Live from NPR news in Washington. I'm Dave Mattingly, the FBI says two agents who were shot and killed in South Florida yesterday. We're working a child pornography case at the time. Two were killed at an apartment in a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. Three other agents were wounded. The FBI says a suspect opened fire on agents Daniel Alphen and Laura Schwarzenberger as they attempted to serve a warrant. The suspect was also killed. In Georgia to Atlanta police officers fired for using excessive force are getting their jobs back Lily Oppenheimer with member station W. Abe says the officers were fired during protests in the city last summer. Atlanta Civil Service Board revoked the dismissals of Ivory Streeter and Mark Gardner, saying the city did not follow personnel regulations. Mayor Keisha Lance bottoms and then police chief Erica Shields fired the officers after police body cameras showed them dragging two local college students from their car and then tasing them. Both were rising seniors at historically black colleges. Shields, who stepped down as police chief less than a month later told the board extraordinary circumstances resulted in her decision to fire the pair. Officers could still face an internal investigation and criminal charges. Streeter and Gardner will remain on administrative leave until those charges are resolved. This is NPR news from Washington. Since the start of the year, the city has sequenced about 1500 covert cases and more surveillance is on the way.
