Health Department, Steve Glover, Mayor Cooper discussed on Phil Valentine

Automatic TRANSCRIPT

The discussion involves the low number of Corona virus cases emerging from bars and restaurants and howto handle it. And most disturbingly, how to keep it from the public. On June 30th contact tracing was given a small view. Of Corona virus clusters, Construction and nursing homes were found to be causing problems with Mohr than 1000 cases trace to each category, But bars and restaurants reported just 22 cases. Leslie Waller from the Health Department asked, and this is in the emails. This isn't going to be publicly released right? Just info for Mayor's office. And then the senior advisor to the Mayor Benjamin Eagle's been says correct not for public consumption. So why would this not be for public consumption? Well, because you're going to find out. What they're shutting down is not where the problem is, and what they're not shutting down is where the problem is. Which makes you understand what's going on. This is entirely political it maybe in retribution. Who knows what the Mai I mean? This guy's so off the reservation here who knows what this guy's doing. A month later, the health Department Was asked point blank about the rumor that there are 80 cases traced the bars and restaurants. Tennessee Lookout reporter Nate Rows asked the figure you gave of more than 80. Does lead to a natural question. If there have been over 20,000 positive cases of covert 19 and David Davidson and only 80 or so are traces to restaurants and bars. Does that mean restaurants and bars are not a very big problem. Well, the Health Department official Brian Todd, as five Health department officials. Please advise how you recommend I respond and the name of the top Of the response is clipped off. But you find the the answer unacceptable. My two cents We have certainly refused to give counts per bar because those numbers are low per site. We could still release the total and then and then a response to the over 80 could be because that number is increasing all the time, and we don't want to say a specific number. Well. Neither the Health Department nor the mayor's office would confirm the authenticity of the emails. But council member Steve Glover had a metro staff attorney inquire and by the way When Dennis fear your contact, then they said file a Freedom of Information Act request. Well, Glover. Had a Metro staff attorney require enquiring found out in an hour. What the deal was. They are really I was able to get verification from the mayor's office and the Department of Health and these e mails are really Lover says This is Metro national orchestrating a cover up. Glover says. They're fabricating fabricating information. They've blown their entire credibility. Then it's it's gone. I don't trust the thing they say going forward. Nothing. Lover says that he has been contacted by an endless stream of downtown bartenders, Waitresses restaurant owner's asking Why would officials not released these numbers? And Glover says we raise taxes 34%, but hundreds of literally thousands of people out of work that are now worried about losing their homes, their apartments and we did it on bogus data. I'm telling you, this guy needs to resign. What in the hell is Cooper still doing? Mayor of Nashville? I don't understand it. I mean, this is obvious What is going on? This guy lied to everybody. He kept the information from the public about what the real story was and then closed down People's livelihood. Sze Again. Fox 17 News wasn't told by the mayor's office. This wasn't true. We were told to file a Freedom of Information Act request. Which allows us to now ask the question. Why are you keeping this from us? Why would you even want to? It's just the really numbers and what could possibly be? An honorable motive and there is no honorable motive. So today Dennis Miller and the mayor get into it. And so they're talking mother have a press conference about all the action's they're taking, and they want to ask questions and boy, they don't want to answer these questions. Mayor Cooper said that his administration was driven by public health information to areas of concern where gatherings of people could become super spreader events. He cited video shared in mid July, which showed crowd swarming lower Broadway, many of the patrons not wearing mask despite a city mandate, but he doesn't take any responsibility for inviting thousands of people to a riot. Which is where the spike obviously I told you the entire time. It is no coincidence. We have a riot downtown at the end of May and by the middle of June, we've got a spike in Corona virus cases in Davidson County, and they're going. Oh, it's because of the bars and restaurants so I want you to understand. What's going on here? Because I'm gonna try to put this assisting cle as possible and try to remain calm. The mayor caused a spike in Corona virus cases and Davidson County and tried to shift the blame to the bars and restaurants downtown and in turn. They closed a bunch of them down and is putting people out of business. That's what's going on. He caused this problem, And so instead of taking responsibility for inviting thousands of people to come downtown, he puts the blame on the bars and restaurants which, as we find out from the data now we're not the problem. He was the problem. Mass gatherings had increased Corona virus cases by over 6%. The bars and restaurants were a blip. So he was the problem. He blamed everybody else. And then you look at the real. The real outbreak was construction sites and nursing homes, and he did nothing. To stop the spread there..
