To thirty years of police experience for a rookie officer somebody out there tell me how the Phoenix police department is supposed to be as good now as they were fifteen or ten years ago with this kind of attrition and this kind of mistreatment by the city itself I will tell you that it doesn't matter what political party do you belong to every politician Republican Democrat no matter who they are when they're running for office they look for the endorsement from the police and the fire fighters and they all say the same thing public safety first is there anything about the statistics and I'm not lying about them you can not like my opinion I don't mind if you don't agree with me on my opinion you cannot dispute my fax those are the numbers the the Philadelphia police department is twice the size of the Phoenix police department double and they have a less of a population of smaller land area we have not for years we didn't hire for attrition we shrunk to about twenty seven hundred officers now we're back up around three thousand but we are less experience now than we were because we're hiring somebody young officers and on top of all of that you're now going to tell the recruiting department at the Phoenix police department that when you go and look for new officers you better warn them that we've now got a civilian review board and one city council member that overtly doesn't like you now the Buck stops here right we look at the city council we say as Venetians we should demand better service and the people running our city yes we should and then let's ask ourselves this how many of us know who our city council man or woman is how many of us have ever interacted with them how many of us are willing to go out there and say I'm gonna support this person there's three things we have to offer the world at times money talent in time am I willing to support the right person and I'm gonna put another call out there if you were in law enforcement if you are prior service law enforcement if you are retired law enforcement officer and you live in the city of Phoenix run for office run for office and I will help get groups of people to help you because it's time the attitude changed at the council level that doesn't mean we turn our backs on oversight what it means is we turn our backs on loud voices of extremism that don't do the right thing for the city as a whole this is absurd three thousand officers were half the size of the Philadelphia PD with a bigger land mass and more people to patrol Gee I wonder why we need to put up fences in our alleys to stop drugs and prostitution the Democrat debate last night it was something to see in here and you're going to see you're going to definitely hear it in a moment there's something.
