After a very impressive win over the Tennessee lady vols in the quarterfinal round of the SEC tournament the Kentucky women's basketball team is back in action tonight against the second seeded Mississippi state Bulldogs good evening from the Bonsu core wellness arena here in Greenville South Carolina I'm Terry Hedrick with you Mississippi state is coming off a very impressive thrashing of L. A. hsu seventy nine to forty nine the Bulldogs out scored the Tigers fifty three to twenty four in the second half while shooting sixty six percent Mississippi state under Vic shapers had a lot of success in the SEC tournament they have six straight seasons up initially in the top three of the SEC and they won the SEC championship last year they've been in the championship game of the tournament in four straight years Mississippi state enters tonight with a record of twenty six and five the British thirteen at three in the conference Kentucky's now twenty two at seven after beating Tennessee last night by a final score of eighty six to sixty five it was the third straight win over the lady vols for head coach Matthew Mitchell his Wildcats it's for Kentucky it was a historic night on multiple fronts it was their largest margin to win a victory against the lady vols if the Matthew Mitchell era it was their first win on a neutral court against Tennessee in the history of the program it's the first time they've won three straight over Tennessee in the series Ryan Howard broke the school record for kids of four three pointers in a single season she now is eighty two accounting and as a team Kentucky has a new school record for made three pointers in a single season there were two hundred forty six and county Kentucky won the regular season matchup with Mississippi state at Lexington seventy three to sixty two of sixty two point five the Bulldogs the U.
