Boom boom two politics is unfair that's something you have to learn when you get into politics especially if you get into it professionally and one way you learn it is when you see things happen to politicians who you like that can ruin their careers that other politicians of gotten away with the same thing or been treated differently on the same thing and i first saw that in 1988 when gary hart as a presidential candidate was taken down by his affair that he was caught having and that was after generations of politicians never even being questioned about things like that and that's when i first realize well it's not fair it doesn't matter but it never happened to anyone before gary hart and then we've seen things happened over the years to other people the senator bob packwood for example basically almost expelled from the senate had to resign over a series of sexual harassment accusations that senators had been getting away with since the senate was invented he was the first one to be faced with something like that because politics isn't fair in the sense that it isn't consistent and what happens to one is not necessarily what happens to another and today we saw a movement unlike anything we've ever seen in the united states senate 35 democratic senators called for the immediate resignation of a senator from their own party who now stands accused of inappropriate behaviour by eight women some of them anonymous the last women woman to accuse senator al franken did so in an article published this afternoon by the atlantic tina dupree described the moment she met el frank franken at an inauguration party in two thousand nine quote i asked to get a picture with him we posed for the shot he immediately put his hand on my waist grabbing a handful of flesh i froze then he squeezed at least twice i'd been married for two years at the time i don't let my husband touch me.
