Listen: Jesse, Jussie Smollet, Chicago discussed on Gary and Shannon
"An attack on actor jussie smollet? It happened Tuesday night about two AMI's leaving a subway in Chicago. And he says two men attack him now they make racial remarks. They make homophobic remarks. They put a rope around his neck now the areas covered with surveillance cameras, but there's no footage of said attack. There is footage of him making his way through the lobby of his building with the rope around his neck. All right. Let's talk with Ryan burrow, who we've spoken to this week multiple times about the cold weather, but things have warmed up enough that we can take them off the cold weather beaten talk about the the salt be Ryan what's going on. What what will Chicago police said about this attack? Yes. So Chicago police superintendent Eddie Johnson did the media rounds. Today's he usually does the first of the month talking about the crime numbers in Chicago, which were down actually last month. But that being said he was. Numerous times by multiple media outlets. You know, what's going on with this jussie smollet case where are you guys at in the investigation, we know that a couple of days ago, they did release two images. They were surveillance images of people who were NBA area at the time. I've actually got a a sideline of the exact same angle right now that they were looking at in that it's just two people walking. You can't really recognize their faces are really make much out from that picture. I'm gonna put that out to the public because they said, hey, we need your help. Do you know who these people are they may know something about this? They may have been involved in some way, and as far as we know at this point, they haven't gotten any valuable tips that have linked to those people or pointed them to whoever those people were so all they've got to work off up. Now is that image? They've also got the image as you mentioned of Jesse at entering the lobby of his place with that rope around his neck, and they're trying to figure it out now. The superintendent says they believe that jesse's comments to them the things that he has told them are genuine. They don't have any reason to believe that he's not telling them the truth, and they are going to continue this investigation moving forward. And you know, there have been a lot of social media discussions about. You know is he making this up is this possible that this didn't happen? You know, is there something else going on and police seem to be knocking that down and saying look, he's the victim in this case. And we're moving forward as such. I mean, even if he was making it up they're not gonna come out and say that right away. I wouldn't think but what has he said about what happened that night? So you released a statement today saying that he's okay. One of the quotes from from this paragraph long is my body is strong. But my soul is stronger. More importantly, I want to say thank you, he talks a he says that he's been working with authorities and have been one hundred percent factual and consistent on every level. And despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread. I still believe that Justice will be served. So we're all just kind of sitting here waiting for the police to crack this case in one form or another. And they just they haven't been able to do it to this point. But assured us that they're working hard out and trying to figure out what it what it was that went down there on Tuesday morning. The president even weighed in on this this week. I have not seen those statements. Actually, I didn't see what what it was that. He said,."
