Listen: Stonewall K County Taylor County Lubbock County, Dallas Morning News, Senate discussed on Other Side of Texas
"But Kennedy Fort Worth star telegram to jump on the program with us Trish, saying from Pringles can really. Yeah. Really? That's that's the way story played out there in which tall falls. You know, something that's kinda grinding my gears right now is empower Texans is a political action committee, and I don't know I've not been given definitive word whether or not they have been given access to the state Senate to. Participate to be given media credentials there in the state Senate, the Dallas Morning News writing a piece today, and I can't tell it's premature not. But the Dallas Morning News running a piece today saying that. That it makes no sense that a political action committee gets media credentials. Because that's just kind of the bag, right? Like, you're one or you're the other either Europe pack or your immediate group and empower Texans playing to the way that they do. And this is always been my problem with empower Texans. From the first time, I got wind of them luck in late two thousand eleven some of you were will you read the party well before I was. They will tempt social concerns and exploit economic interests. And how does that play out it plays out? Like, we have a conversation right now about what we're going to do about property taxes. And if we're going to put a cap on property tax evaluations at two point five percent before we have an election to up the fee. Now, we hear a lot of talk in Texas about California, but that's a sensually a referendum. Do you really want to state this run by referendum? We've got all these hodgepodge laws are put together and very California s in on one side. It makes sense let the people vote let the people vote, but on the other side, it's a Representative democracy. A Representative Republic as it were in their people in place to take the vote. And. No, I don't understand why the people that would overrun those elections are being given media critic because this is how it's gonna play out in a hall county. Stonewall K county Taylor county Lubbock county. Well, let's let the people vote. Well, that assumes that it's the people who are voting and not sound not outside interests that are getting involved in it. And what you're going to see is if abbots tax law passes his property tax cap law passes, your see outside interest groups get involved, and it's it's problematic. There's no doubt about it. It's problematic and more on that in you, look Trish texting back in. What do you mean? What I mean? Is what said is let the people have a vote. But when you've got outside Pac money rolling into a county to oppose an election with quote, unquote, media being media, then you're able to change that election, and that's problematic for a whole lot of reasons. And I don't want to see that happen to you. Or do you want to see an outside interest group role in in say that they are media that they are up and down the line objective fair? Whatever the case might be. I don't wanna see that. And I think that that's problematic on a whole lot of levels. We're gonna take a quick time out. Get bud. Kennedy on the line stick right with us on your other side. Good stuff ahead. But Kennedy and Charles foster Johnson passers for Texas children's stick right where you are right here on the other side. With. Do the sound has known. Pig out. Arkansas.."
