On the fan coming up in about fifty five minutes from now, we will speak to these Spanish play by play voice of the New York Yankees and Ricky Ricardo I was taking a look at Twitter, and I was watching the broadcast on. Yes. Last night. And I saw that David Cone put out a tweet, and it was a poll question on Twitter. And it was the simple question that we're asking right now who should the Yankees starting a wild card game. Now that says twenty two thousand votes, so a pretty good sample size. There's actually four options. Jay hat, Luis Severino Tanaka and then Chad green fifty two percent right now. So the majority say Jay, which is no surprise because Jay hap has been the Yankees best pitcher down the stretch. And especially as late. Now in second place on this poll right now, which is about nineteen or so hours live. The we Severino at twenty nine percent Tanaka twelve percent. And then Chad green at seven I'm going to assume that Tanaka being twelve percent because if you did this Paul about a week ago. I think the answers are just basically between happen Tanaka. It's going to be because the last two starts her Tanaka them not being so well, and I totally understand that I've done that myself. I've changed my tune. I said now star Jay. Amicably severino. I guess the logic would be two things. Number one. His last two starts. He's been fine and one of them being up against the Boston Red Sox. But number two, you just need the pitcher and a postseason game with the way that the Yankees are probably going to operate their bullpen and a wildcard elimination single-game to maybe just get through the order one time. There's a possibility, and it could be likely unless have hap or Severino Tanaka whoever it is it may be and I'm going to think it's going to be had. So Boone goes with have. He may only asked hat to get through the order one time. Now, you have to play that by year you have to play that on the fought hap- is going lights out one-two-three one-two-three one-two-three. You would be just a moron to take him out of the game. However. The minute. The velocity starts the debt or the minute. When there is a problem. That is encountered on the mound in the postseason. How many times when watching a postseason game? Well, people complain. Oh, I think the manager had two quick of a hook on the starter. But that's what managing is now. Sometimes we look at managing as the relevant. Sometimes we got all these managers. They get too much credit. What do they really do? Anyone could sit in a dugout and just judge everything by the numbers in the postseason. The thing. I look for the most. Is how quickly does a manager. Police started from game and every year a guy could be cruising and the manager goes starting to get shaky. Let me get to my bullpen. So I really whoever started in the wildcard game for the Yankees. It could just be to get one time to the order now at their stud like we were saying, then you go for them and ride them a little bit longer. But I don't believe it. I don't think they will do this idea of having an opener to start things off and have a relievers start the game. I just don't see it. They've done it. Once this year. You had some good starters. You have someone in half right now, why not let hap- run with it. And we shall see what he does and Boone reiterated with Mike yesterday. But my friend Cessa that he'd be very surprised if they went with that strategy. But then Brian Cashman, Andy Martino said, hey, all options are on the table. So I don't think they're going to go that route. But maybe they do I'd be very surprised like the, man. Major said they elected to do. So now, let me give you a hats numbers. This year begins Oakland only had one start. It was in Oakland six innings pitched two hits one run you sign up for that right now and elimination game one that could do that over six innings and hand the ball over to in whatever order, Chapman, pretentious and Britain. You would take that in a second and would hope that your offense. Command you factor to runs and when you're the game some other numbers to look at this place effect because of the fact that the Oakland Athletics are predominantly right handed hitting team Severino out of the three has the best year as a Europe against righties this year to twenty seven and both Tanakh in hat going into the game before the game is snake rat for forty one up against right handers. So that's also something to look at right now. But with the way Tanaka specialized two games, I would not go with them anymore. Severino has been too hot or cold for me this year. So by process of elimination and also the guy that has pitched the best the options should be J happened. That's what I do believe the Yankees will end up doing. Let's start things off the mount Holly. We talked to C J first up was that the fan. Good morning CJ. How are you? How you doing things that one discuss the Yankees and the Mets were the first question. I would start Tanaka reason being we've got a postseason. What she has a. Ordering rest. If you could get five. You're right. Twos. Well, let me ask you this CJ because last year he was sensational in the postseason. We all know how Tanaka was. I think it was like twenty innings only allowed to earn runs. There's no concern with the way that he's only been able to go to four innings and one syrup against Boston up against Tampa going into this wildcard game that the last two starts. He's only been going eight innings and has not pitched. Well, of course. Yes, sir. Look at the situation. What's happening? What? He has a great track record. So this way, I pointed stop the head. But what happens if Tanaka bombs it in the first that you don't get to that matchup. I'm with the I even Senate a week ago. Look at the numbers that makes perfect sense. But to not get to carry on weight in these last two starts to start just last night. If he would've went seven strong six wrong and made you feel good. I wouldn't have a problem with it. But he didn't do that. So what's your point underground, by the way, I get the side? Get the side walk. I would think you're right. It's the best that the show your. I know this wet I noticed Reich app, you compare him to the other pitcher shirts. Just about the state, but you are right. Like half west. And I think that's really significant. Have you finished? I. Yeah. It's a major Graham is young award winner. But I will say this about max Scherzer for people that just think this is going to be a runaway lock in the vote. I don't think it's going to be now if I had a vote I would vote for. Because the guy has a one seventy ERA max Scherzer is that like to forty to forty five. He also has three hundred strikeouts. And I have a statistic for you later on this show that also shows you how could it be year? Scherzer's having in addition to the ground, but when you're pitching to a one seventy ERA. Yeah. Then you only had foreign runs was the most runs you had this year. I would go with degrom. But it would not surprise me. Even though I think the Brown will win if the vote is close to them what people anticipate because of the fact some voters may look at strikeouts. And some voters may look at wins compared to the era being front and center. Let's go to Robby and Phoenix next up on the fan. What's happened around the good to talk to you? Hey, what's up nicely? I I I love your show. Thank you. I would pitch half. There's no question that I would agree with you. But I've got some other concerns. Gary sanchez. He is defensively. Horrible at he cost a daily run this afternoon. Well this evening, you'll be honest with you I would play role cause. I would back fourth and bad Jean Carlos seven or eight because Jean Carlos nine play. Also coming off the injury. So I don't think they would do that regardless. I don't think they're going to push Giancarlo that low, but I'll touch on your first point and Gary Sanchez. I'm with you. I would go with role mind because of the defensive problems that Gary Sanchez does have no Gary Sanchez, a heck of an arm, and we know one song of the bat. Gary Sanchez can change the game. But he hasn't been doing it this year, but I do know. Yeah. He he's been terrible this year. But it's first two years of his career. He was great. But here's the thing with Gary Sanchez. I don't see the team starting role mind. I just don't think they will do that in that spot because then you get into that tricky situation the rest of the way, but I I am someone that had said before I would go with remind mind for defensive purposes, there's no doubt in my next point is what scares me is Aaron Boone poor managing. He is a very poor poor mantra, why don't you think why do you think Aaron Boone is this poor manager some of that has games number one. He made a mistake. I've Sunday he put a he putting coal you mistake. Two day when Tyler Wade came up to bat. He's bad one eighty should have put in a Tereza. That's sitting three hundred. Sounds like Kotite in speeches. I would trust Jerry, Emmanuel more. That's how bad he is. He's awful. Yeah. Well, rounded he's going to be positive, and I've had this conversation with you before. But you're continue to beat this dead horse on this topic. Aaron Boone's not going to criticize his players. He's just not going to do it publicly. And I understand as a fan that can upset you. But it's not going to happen. And to say the guy is an awful manager. And he's a horrible manager. Sometimes we put too much of the blame on the manager. The manager's fault last night that Tanaka threw the ball. What was it? The managers. Follow up against the Red Sox that Britain threw the ball away or gleyber Torres. Couldn't feel the ball at second base. Sometimes we nitpick a little bit with the manager some things fair. But then something's just being absolutely ridiculous. No matter what you think of the team that was put together. Aaron Boone in his first year is still won ninety seven games. Now. This guy wins a wildcard game and beats the Red Sox. You still gonna call them horrible manager. You're gonna genuflect to him. I would love to take that phone call ever in that position for that. Let me get to Pablo in Dover, New Jersey next up on the thing. Good morning Pablo. Walk over doing fantastic. I really did happen. Extent. Earn. Asian wall. Call to. Back there. Everything that eighty. Got a lecture on it's tough to hear you. And I'm up against the brakes. I do appreciate the phone call. But I think you were getting at that you would like to go with Jay hap- in the wildcard game. And you just gotta go with your hot hand. You gotta go to the best pitcher right on your right him as long as you could take in. If he starts to show some signs that he doesn't have his best stuff. Then you quickly used that bullpen which has been so good for the Yankees. And you know, how good that Yankees bullpen can be. Now, there's been stretches in the season where it has been as good as you would think you would be but going into the postseason you gotta feel confident with the arms that you would try it out onto the football field. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six Mike and rich. I will come to you next. We'll continue to talk Yankees. And when we come back. We'll look ahead a little bit to Oakland. And also, maybe even further to the Boston Red Sox. And now a page from the diary of Flo. Diary the ghost back. This house is protected through progressive. But that doesn't mean it's not haunted. How else would you explain that radiator like clanking sound or the moon colored light in the hallway that's gone by morning? Maybe he never bundled home and auto and he's doomed to suffer an eternity without the savings. So you can average of seventeen percents on car insurance when you bundle home and auto through progressive. What was that wind like.
