The KTA our newsroom KTA our eyes on education kids are now back at school and already there have been several threats KTA ours Griselda is a Tino tells us what Arizona's largest school district is doing about it it all started over a post on Snapchat he was upset at the school he wasn't happy with the grades he got last year and he said he was gonna go shoot school that's Alan Moore the director of school safety and security for mesa public schools he's describing a recent threat made to high school the police got involved they were able to determine who the suspect was they develop probable cause and they charge him with threats he wants parents to know mesa public schools has protocols to keep students safe that includes four lockdown drills per year also we have one SO road every junior high and wanted every high school elementary schools have patrol officers who trained alongside mesa police officers the district's Michael Garcia says school counselors also play a critical role in prevention our school counselors are very specifically trained in how to deal with a lot of these situations he says the district has a school counselor in every junior high and high school and last year we were able to add thirty seven counselors to our school district so that every single elementary school has a counselor which hasn't ever happened before in may so meanwhile more the district's head of security want students to know we do have a zero tolerance and even if you were joking don't post threats resolved the city no K. T. A. argues that some pretty good advice there let's.
