With Trevor Lawrence at quarterback, can Clemson win the College Football Playoff?
All right. George road of USA today joins us here on the Paul finebaum show. The other store. I want to talk about was the piece that you did sorta walking us through the decision by Devo Sweeney to put Trevor Lawrence the true freshman. At the starting quarterback position when he had an ACC championship quarterback and Kelly Bryant, and what a tough decision that was was there anything in that as your reporting that story in talking to Daboh wh what surprised you if anything about that decision. Well, the insistence by Daboh earlier in the year when I talked to him and even now even after after winning Saturday and beating Notre day the insistence that they didn't do this with an eye on what could happen in the play offs. Because everybody could see how different their offense was when Trevor Lawrence was in the game. And once he took over and really kinda got settled in you realize how much he elevates their often so far beyond what it was Kelly Brian Kelly, Brian is as a perfectly serviceable decent quarterback. He'll probably do a nice job next year at Missouri. But Trevor Lawrence looks like a generational talent. As a true freshman. He's unbelievable. And you know, I'm he won't be the best court. Oh back in the game next year. I mean next this coming week a week from today, but next year and the year after he might be the best quarterback in the game period. I mean, he looks like a surefire, you know, big time Sunday guy, and you could see how he changed her offense. And so the weirdest thing was that the Daboh insisted this was about week-to-week. This was simply about we thought he had earned the right after four games to start against Syracuse. And then of course, things change because Kelly Bryant decided to leave and transfer.
