Listen: Tennis, Novak Djokovic, Rafa discussed on Tactical Tennis
"So he was using the crowd of farms off. He was being technically these opponent the fire himself up rough is playing a very high excitement level but eights very internalized. So the reason that you can tell that he is and this is noticeable what you watch when he's out there. And he's about through the coin toss the guy's looks like a boxer. In order. What away he's jumping around dancing from the foot? He's keeping his energy level high. And then, you know, when it's time comes for him to take the caught he doesn't walk out there calmly the God literally sprints to the baseline, right? He's he's he's sprinting before he ever hit the ball in the warm up. And he's basically the only guy that we see on TV. I shouldn't say he's the only guy, but he takes that to a higher level than anyone else. Does that we see on television? Okay. Yes. And so there's this interesting question of what is actually does that do for him? Like, what is he doing? Why? I mean Rafa is working up a laugh or of sweat before the warm up. Like he goes out to play Novak Djokovic. He knows like I might play five sets. This might be five hours. The guy is sweating through a shirt. Yeah. He's setting time from again before he's even tennis bowl the way that he's back that this is a little counter intuitive to a lot of us because I think like, hey, I'm I'm playing Novak here. I'm playing fed or I'm playing dominant team. Or is VERA like I wanna save my energy, man. Like what happens if this is a long match like what if I get tired, right? Like with the bigger issue for for rougher is if he if he comes out and he plays the match poli. It's not gonna be alone match at all. Okay. So that's the thing that he understands. So he's really prioritizing. I'm gonna go play. My best tennis over anything else. Absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, always I think that's one thing that rough agus such brilliant job. And if you want chaiman matches he does a really people would make jokes about his water bottles, and how obsessive compulsive seems to be at times. But all of that is a pot of the way that he goes about controlling the environment that he plays tennis in controlling his state that he's playing tennis in. And that's that's important. Because this part of the reason why he's able to be so consistent. It's not just that. He's a great tennis player in terms of his ability tennis bowl, one of the things that makes Rafael Nadal exceptional. Why he's won seventeen grand slams is his willingness to take care of those little details that allowed into place. Best tennis all the time. And I don't wanna get sidetracked into kind of his rituals about as well the other stuff, but his. His management of of excitement level is a pot of that. He's always a great space to play tennis. Like, he always goes and puts herself in the right place. Plays tennis. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the water bottle stuff is much less important than what we're talking about today, which is absolutely this management of his exhortation level. Like, this is actually one of the fundamental things that Rafa does better than other people that brings him so much consistency. Like, yes. But I will I will go ahead. Sorry, just going to say when is the last time that we sell Rafa lose a first round in tournament. And we just thought well like he just came out there and wasn't quite ready and lost the first set and got unlucky and lost a match.."
