Israel Heads Toward Yet Another Election, Its 4th in 2 Years


Israel looks set to be plunged into its fourth election in two years following the failure off efforts to hold together its governing coalition are ARB Affairs analyst Alan Johnston says an election couldn't come at a worse time for the prime minister. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's governing coalition has been a fraud and unhappy affair from the start. It hasn't yet found a way to pass a state budget and without one by law, parliament will automatically be dissolved midnight. This would trigger an election in the spring. Mr Netanyahu is a formidable campaigner, but he'd be fighting this election at a particularly tough time. He's being criticized for his handling of the Corona virus pandemic and he'd be campaigning justices trial on corruption charges was getting underway
