New York City Mayoral Candidates Unite To Stop 'Superspreader' Ballot Petitioning

Williams and seven of the leading mayoral candidates are urging city and state leaders to suspend ballot petitioning under city and state law, candidates must gather thousands of eligible signatures to secure a spot on the June primary ballot on the Brian Lehrer Show. Mayor de Blasio said he thinks candidates need to do something to show grassroots support. There's lots of ways that could be done, potentially including online, so I very much would like to see. Change here because we're in the middle of pandemic, but I am not certain that something can do alone. DiBlasio says he thinks the change would need to be made at the state level.
