Listen: Is the new MacBook Pro worth the upgrade? (The 3:59, Ep. 585)
"Tonight I'm about to Chiang. I'm Scott Stein Armed Joseph Kaminsky so apple's Mac pro Michael Air God in slow minor upgrades. I guess they got sort of a quiet upgrade early this week. We finally we have we have them in hand John Brennan Tests. I mean all these upgrades worth it where you thought if you have an older Mac book pro I can see you upgrading but it's not that significant. We'd want to shell out that kind of money right away <hes>. What did you find what their speed us the? The speed test it's definitely faster than previous because they switched from the dual core to the quad core. You definitely see a performance bump for me and my normal day to day. The dual core is just fine. I don't know what other people's uses are right I also I wish they'd put an S.. D. Card slot back in there as well yeah well. It's still it's still like to use how many are there. Yes it is to USB type C both on the same side right and for those of us who while using a Mac book pro now you got to carry these Donald's not everything will fit come upgrade to a higher capacity which ones get the four U._S. species. That's the fifteen inch as the fifteen inches. <music> man that's the that's the up sell Ya yeah seriously. Get your extra ports in there so otherwise this is essentially the same say Max acquired upgrade from apple in terms of hardware and they he added the true tone display to the MAC book. I can't tell the difference I'm sure it looks nice. I guess I guess we'd have to go into a room and just play with the lights and says come with the new upgraded keyboard but they're they're not had significantly different right from what I hear from the people in the lab with me. They're not big fans of the keyboard again with <hes> so moving onto the Nintendo switch light Scott. You actually had a chance to try one of the few folks she I chance to try it. Yes what did. You think so I got to play it for like twenty minutes used pretty much all the Nintendo portable systems and consoles. It feels a lot more like a three D. S. or a to D s type of product <hes>. It's a little smaller. It's not as big as a small as a playstation vita but it's it's a little more compact feels sturdier actually and so I like the feel of it five point five inch screen seem fine for all the games that I try try you know smash brothers and Super Mario Odyssey in Zelda for like a hot few minutes <hes> I love that. <unk> but you're giving up all these extras the switch part of it and that's the part where like as I use it at home I do use the T._v.. For stuff and that for one hundred dollars dropping in price that's great losing the T._v.. Out Capability losing the swap -able controllers in case wear and tear not wild about that but it does seem to be set up as a second device for the home. I know it's crazy hip but parents who played games note. I'm talking about Nintendo has hinted that there might be some way to deal with management across multiple device right. You talked with the Nintendo's browser which is actually his real name. Yes it is. It's hard to keep referring. I know what I mean. What else did you the deep hat thing you learned about? The D pad Yes so deep has a great what about on joy kinds and he wouldn't confirm any plans right now for. Or anything like that enjoy cons <hes> he talked about the the Horizontal Capability Android hines and that was versatile still I feel like you can use the d pad in horizontal mode and do all the stuff that he's talked about. Maybe that's something for the switch pro or some other thing down the line <hes> speaking of which again he wouldn't refer to anything involving a more advanced sequel to the switch reports have said that that's been delayed. Maybe that's next year for now. It looks like going into the rest of twenty nineteen just the light but what was really interesting his when he talked about games I said well what if you share between systems which is really annoying if I keep one docked. Could I just take the other on the road with me is that there's GonNa be some way of sharing experiences more to come on that which I really hope. Is that way to take digital libraries."
