Listen: Michael, BEN, Josh discussed on Post Show Recaps
"Lower rated season season for you season. Two is my least favorite season. But that makes me extremely excited for this because it's sort of a win win scenario for me if it's better than I expected. That's then great. It's an opportunity. SORTA like season two of the wire where I think in earns this really negative reputation. Many if you look at it. More from a micro perspective there are things you can enjoy but if not I have some fun with throwing shade at lost. I think this people say that the first half of season three is really a good representation of like how aimless the show felt a certain point. But I think you start to feel that in season to season to the beginning is when they really start dividing our attention you you know for the most part. Everyone kind of stayed in the same group in season. One exodus was really the first time that everyone really separated out into doing their own things. And they're going to continue that and they're not going to have three hours a week to do. So we're going to have exploration of the hatch. But we're also going to have Michael and Sawyer and Jin with details those those groups going to eventually come together and then we're going to get involvement with the Dharma Initiative. All these big mysteries are being presented. So I'm really intrigued to look at how it all all comes together because I know what I remember of it in general as a season. But we're those smaller moments going to provide. I will tell you something that I am genuinely excited about. And surprisingly eh one of my favorite memories from lost honestly my favorite memory from season two and it speaks to just how demented of a person. I am but Josh. I'm so excited for the end of two for the road yeah. I don't know why that was. That was such a like what we were talking about before more with. What if boone was Carl and he got shot out of nowhere and it was like a legitimate series regular guy killed in like this really kind of like off handed way? I mean so add to that that that is exactly what happens to Ana Lucia to lie or library that they both get shot their main characters. There's you know they're I build. You know names on on the show and suddenly they're they're killed off in the season that they're introduced juiced no less after being billed as such important people and they're killed by not only another series regular but like a good guy series regular somebody who were being groomed groomed to feel a lot of sympathy for because his son had been kidnapped. I think up to that point is there like a bigger like holy crap like jaw dropper. Like stunner stunner shocker of a moment then Michael Killing Ana Lucia and libby on like that sort of guttural level. I'd love to get some feedback to that for for even for next week we can. We can take it or we could hold it until we get to the road but I agree like I will never forget experiencing that episode like when analysts gets shot like just like jumping out out of my skin. Yeah and then libby gets. It's like just like so scary. Yeah I mean that was one of my. I like obsessive moments but the show weirdly enough of I watched all the the dear sister much assay Peres US online. I guess that was an episode. I remember watching a lot of time so that they can actually. Is it a surprisingly good episode. That release sets up like that was endlessly as big send off episode but it also sets up Libyan Hurley are really happy so it just makes it. She doesn't end up dying right there right dead. We talked about how significant a moment that is for Michael as a character. So that's one moment I'm really interested in looking at. I'm really interested in you know we were talking about. Faith is a gradient and what the echo character represents especially when it comes to these characters of Charlie and Locke which are the two characters he really interact with the most. I'm intrigued to see if Charlie's downfall windfall is really as bad as we remember it being there. There's a lot of stuff I'm really interested in rerun whether good or bad that season two is going to provide for us. I'm I'm really excited to get into it. I first of all I'm. I'm just so thrilled that we talked about the entirety of the first season lost. No it's crazy. It's I still can't believe we got there and look rolling. I didn't want to jinx. It was a little bit over just because of how many episodes per season but actively. Yeah but I think we've got through a monumental season of television. But it's only the beginning. This is going to be such a big shift in so many ways. And I'm so happy to chart that with you because it's something that like even in the moment I didn't necessarily think about but it's like you know boiling Lobster are boiling frog kept turning up the sci-fi and you're like Oh yeah I I guess we're doing time travel now because we did the hatch stuff a few seasons that transition is going to be a Lotta Fun yeah. I hope that we get a lot of mileage out of uh you all everybody's to if we can walk away from fire plus water with some appreciation for it. I will be very impressed. I'm not expecting much. I I mean we could probably figure out some other commercials and put driveshaft and Selena. We'll get there yeah. I'm looking forward to the road. I'm really psyched to immediately. Go down the hatch next week and finally have Desmond on the board but I do think that like that's such a great scene gene but it's GONNA take three weeks to talk about the entirety of the hatches. Yeah it really starts off on such weird science. Faith is interesting but then we get to a drift which just to put a pin in this. Josh might be my least favorite episode. Okay interesting I despise adrift. Maybe again looking at it now from the perspective of a father especially being a Michael episode. Maybe that'll give me a sense of things but I remember just really hating and at the time time just so darkly lit and just so poorly done of an episode but yeah I mean we're GonNa dentist cool character and then you get a leave us tire season. It's such a weird way to introduce character. It's going to be Wacky Stefan. Johnson had asked US tail section versus freighter folk. Go Freighter Oak Yeah. I think that I've been on the record. Like I'm not the hugest fan of the freighter folk or at least I don't love them the way that some other people love them. I I think I've come around on basically all of them and Mr Echo is such a heavyweight in the tail section but the way that the tail the tailings are ultimately right. But now you know how can you not vote for folk. Yeah I don't know that's one of the reasons why it's refunder. Reexamined the tail. Yeah I agree especially the other forty eight days considering it's their or stand alone episode. I'm very excited for that one. That's I remember. That's a standout of season. Two No matter what you think about it but yeah I dream of season for ever since the days of law slaves. I I love I. I'd say at least enjoy all the freighter boat. I still have never been a big charlotte person. Hopefully it will come around on that once we get into the back half of the Ron but I love everything that miles and you know Faraday and frankly pettus bring to the table. And they're very weird word ways and there are also such a big representation of like what loss ends up becoming. Yes several bring on characters one of them talks to dead people and the other one. Can you know travel travel through time. Like sure yeah lost now we could bring on those characters. Whatever we won and I can't do it? Seems like with the Taylor as they wanted to bring on another group of survivors for the shock value of it. All you could tell they sort of did it exactly know what to do with them and so they ended up killing a majority of them off. Yeah when are you going to do some. I'm curious to reexamine the Tayo is. I think it's GonNa be. It's GonNa be fun. I think that season two has some of the really great eight highs of loss but it also has some some pretty serious lulls We can say we can turn them into laws. I'll be I'll be pretty happy about up that what start. Start wrapping up. We got so much feedback over the last several weeks that was just so touching So many people sharing their stories about how they found loss what lost his meant to them over the years. What this podcast has brought back for them? We we would be here for like eight hours if we started reading those messages that we got but we really do want to thank everybody for who has written in with everybody. Thank you all everybody even Ben Behind the curtain wanted us to share this message because Ben is really at the forefront of reading down the hatch feedback and getting them collated needed for the others alongside Brendan Fitzpatrick. This comes from Ben Reading the males at comes in. It's impossible to miss. Just how many different people for whom this podcast is more than just a bit of week. We Fun Fun. It's impossible to have them all read on the podcast. Many people are deeply impacted by the honesty of the mental health. Journeys that you are brave. We putting into the road. I guess it's you and me. Mike and many others have found a sanctuary from dealing with loss and other forms of grief and many others have their own individual reasons for feeling thankful. It's impossible to escape. The fact that down the hatch has in many ways become a really important podcast and for that the hatchlings have spoken and in the loudest terms possible have sent a very loud. Thank you to both of us. Oh Oh wow for putting something so Rau- real and relatable into the universe. Thank ben I appreciate you saying that but really I just have to reflect that back onto even if you're not like sending in deeply revealing way we don't need you to like we're not playing like two truths in allies. Sure we I love getting really funny feedback the really like inciteful character analysis David Healy. We'll get to that Mikhail episode soon. Yeah we got a little ways to govern. I know what you're talking. There's great stuff that we get one of the great joys of waking up on any given day anymore is going to the filtered filtered folder that I have in my g mail account where all the down the hatch emails get sent to get forward to and every day I wake up to to No fewer than five new emails that are about lost so every day. I have something amazing to read about lost. It's incredible I strongly suspected did when we launched down the hatch that lost was was very big for mental health. That having a daily weekly dose of lost in my life for the next day was daily for Good.."
