Delaware Park, Delaware Oaks, Oklahoma Park discussed on The Horse Racing Radio Network Podcast

She parlayed that win in the princess Rooney to the upset victory in the breeders cup Philly and mayor sprint. She's looking to do the exact same thing this year. You know, it's kind of where it all started for CC. She was obviously a pretty nice Philly out in Southern California before then. But that's where she kicked it in the high gear and became kind of a wind machine and was the champion as well and eclipse award winning mayor as well, right? In that category filling mayor sprinting, it certainly was. And yeah, she's a champion. You're right. She was fantastic. That 6 month period. Yeah, and then she reemerged at Oklahoma park and ran two great route races. She was fantastic in the aziri, showed a new dimension finished in front of two good horses, Pauline's pearl and she dares to dabble. Her last race every single year, one of the most competitive Philly and Mary aces in the country, the Apple blossom at Oak Lawn, long been a great race. In order to win that race, you got to run against the likes of larusso and Clara. And she only got a length of three quarters by them. It was a respectable effort. She's been off since. That currently the best horse at Victor espinoza still rides. Mike McCarthy, great trainer. Of course, of city of light, fame, I'm going to go ahead with glass ceiling here. Glass ceiling had a marvelous four race win streak of her own going, including a win in the barber fridge, which every year is a really good 7 for a long race Laurel. She ships well, she won a distaff the grades we just have at aqueduct after that. She's through in a clunker after a sluggish start last time, I'm going to give her an excuse not raising the grade to bed of roses. She's working sharp. She makes her first ever or not her second visit to Gulfstream park where she's a winner. She's won for one at Gulfstream. And I think that she's still an improving horse even at the age of 5, and I think that she'll pull an upset here against CC. Well, I think last ceiling is the only one who has a chance to beat CC and I was kind of going back and forth between the two. I end up on the defending champ. My theory on CC is this. She's a grade one caliber sprinter. She's a grade two or three caliber router. They keep trying her in routes. I know she won the azeri. I don't think it was that highly rated of a race. I don't think she's quite as good as the very top Echelon of Phillies and mayors going around two turns, but she's every bit as good as the top Echelon Phillies and mirrors around one turn. I like that she's back around one turn. I'm going to pick her on top. Bob going with glass ceiling. I'm going with sisi in the grade two princess Rooney race ten tomorrow at Gulfstream. Let's jump down to Delaware Parker. I guess we're going back up to Delaware park from sound in South Florida. They've got a couple of graded stakes on the card tomorrow. The 6th race on the card is the grade three $300,000 Delaware oaks for the three year old Phillies going a mile and a 16th on the main track. Field of 8, bob, word and up. You know, this is a race to me that's loaded with speed. You got republic shown speed, midnight stroll speedy, Chardonnay, speedy sandstone, unadulterated. They all have speed or tactical speed. I think the fractions will be very honest. My eye was drawn to what looks to be the best closer in the race sometimes too deep of a closure, but today I think she gets a healthy setup and that's the 5 horse morning mattress. Trained by Robert Reid and ridden by Carol sedan, who's 22% on the meat there at Della park Delaware park, so very good rider off to an excellent start. She comes back quickly after, I think at about 13 days rest, she raised June 19th and she didn't really run any kind of race. And her turf day Belmont, I think she came out of that race. She's not particularly turf bread. And they felt like she didn't really even have a race. She didn't really put it all in. I wrote her that day and so basically they data center right back, move her down in a situation that's more to her liking and most importantly, I think she'll have enough pace here to set up her kick. And I think she's a very live first time Lasix 6 to one. Yeah, I have morning match on top myself. I think it's a bad morning line if you want to be perfectly Frank about it. I don't think there's any way we get 6 to one on morning match. I just darn it. I thought she'd be one of the favorites in this race. I think you can just completely throw out that turf race. It doesn't mean anything. Her race is on dirt, have been better than most of these. And against tougher competition, for the most part, than what she's going to see tomorrow. Bob and I both like morning match. I almost made her a best bet. I didn't, but I was close despite the fact she's 6 to one on the morning line. We both like number 5 morning matcha to get the right trip in the grade three Delaware oaks race 6 on the Delaware park card tomorrow. 7th race at Delaware park tomorrow is the grade three tenth stakes for three year olds going a mile and one 8th on the turf $200,000 on the line here and a nice field of 9. Yeah, Ellie's are from the red hot Chris Clement barn. Ships and ships down from Belmont is a French bread horse darian out of a more than ready mayor raised once shanti won easily shows up here June 4th first time in the U.S. runs in the grade two pennine ridge at Belmont and runs okay after a bad start in which elazar was in the air as Lasix shows up the Delaware park 5 to one in the morning line. I don't think you're going to get that. I think that he's live would be surprised to be wins, but I think it's almost disrespectful that the 5 horse wow what a summer ran such a marvelous race granted it was a perfect trip last time in the grade two ten mile a race he won at 83 to one. I just think that that's disrespectful to make him 8 to one in the morning line. I don't think he's going to go off close to that. And I think that he'll use his tactical speed lay pretty close and I just can't oppose him. I think he's in the form of his life and he has sort of a beautiful turf pedigree as well. So good luck to wow, what a summer the as my pick and the Kent. All right, 8 to one on wow, what a summer coming off that win on the soft turf in the pen mile. I went to the horse you mentioned first, Eliza. This was an interesting runner because he actually made a move late that looked like he was going to be a contender turning for home and then just got tired, but I think he was trying to close into a pace that was way too slow and Emmanuel who was trying the turf for the first time that day for Todd Fletcher and his bred to handle the turf. Got the lead unopposed and just galloped all the way around. I think that field that elazar ran against in the pennine ridge is significantly stronger than one is going to see in the Kent. I'm going to give him another shot. Elazar 5 to one for me in the Kent bob going with number 5 wow, what a summer we're both going against the morning line favorite here who is number 6 main event coming off a poor effort in the American turf last time out, but his previous three tries on grass were all very, very good. We just both think that he's a favorite that has a chance of getting beaten. We're going to try to beat him with numbers three and 5. Respectively. All right, we're going to take another break. One week come back, they have four graded stakes north of the border at woodbine tomorrow, and we're going to look at all of them. This is the weekend stakes preview presented by naira bets on the horse racing radio network. Bet.
