Listen: Rams, Jared Goff, Tom Brady discussed on KNX Midday News with Brian Ping
"Ten twenty one time now for our KNX football reward with the other quarterback who led the Rams to the Super Bowl, Vince Ferragamo? Here's KNX ten seventy dick Helton Randy and Vicki more. So let me ask you a question you're playing in the Super Bowl as a quarterback puts would you rather be Tom Brady in sort of the twilight of his career or Jared Goff beginning his career? Wow. Dick, you always come up with that. Secret question. You know, they're both excellent quarterbacks. I mean, you're talking about Brady has been a Super Bowl game. And then Jared Goff bean in this first one, I know I'd rather be experienced quarterback going into the game myself. I mean having played in that many bowl games knowing the significance of each and every play and how important is your team? And the biggest stage is is the most fun game ever. And but you really have to you have to prepare yourself to have that kind of fun. And so I think this this could be. Just a really great matchup and both guys are just really excited to be in this game for certain actual football question. Here is the key matchup in my mind. Is it the Rams defense against the patriots offense or could it be vice versa? They're both important. Randy. I think you know defense is always key for this game. Stop one player two plays. But any big glaring mistake could result in in a in a bad situation for your team? I think the Rams defense against the patriots offense is key. Because a lot of acid do with ball control. You don't who's going to have the ball? Both teams can score quick. I think the patriots liked to have more methodical drive, and it's all planned out. No, they ran for eighty seven yards two weeks ago against the chiefs. You know, and that's been the achilles heel for the Rams defense running game. Although the last couple of weeks they've really stepped it up last week surprise the heck out of everybody beating the saints the way they did. But I think that the fact that you know, Tom Brady is is so accurate in there. So there's so much game plan to in structured structure to beat a defense. And then Wade Phillips going up. How do I stop that offense? That's going to be the big question. This is another one of those thinking questions you've got to search your memory for it. When I say the words best Super Bowl memory on or off the field. What's the first thing that comes to your mind running onto the field in electric crowd? My feet. I can't feel my feet hitting the ground hitting the Super Bowl turf. At the Rose Bowl for the first time, ever, an yuppie and terrified butterflies. You know in hindsight looking back at that game that there was so much fun to plan, but I should have prayed a little bit harder that Jack Lambert showed up stacking. Kinda messed everything up for us. But I just there's just some great memories. Great team players. I mean, the guy played with were just terrific some of my best friends today, and you just never forget an impactful game like that. And what it's meant you and for your career, and and just just the legendary feats that that you see afterwards and before and so it's just just a phenomenal game a game that everybody's taking. He'll we've talked to Jackie about that. And of course, you and Jackie hanging out and do a lot of commentary over talks and elsewhere. But I mean think about that you played in the Super Bowl. Yeah. Yeah. You know? I was I was only twenty five and I was looking at Jared Goff. Who who now is is the other quarterback as you mentioned is taken ramps the Super Bowl and he's twenty four he may have maybe one of the youngest quarterbacks ever play into why at the time. I was the second list behind jumping looking forward to the game. Join us this time. Monday will dissect the game with the former chargers quarterback Dan Fouts now CBS sports.
