"That experience. I was just so chill with them. Now does post game really good post game host for dodgers nation and a. All around LA insider Graig pirate talking Bergman, Greg. No fire today. It's okay, buddy. How you doing man? Oh phew. I thought I had to do a little bit of part. I love that open, by the way, look at you is all your different pun your name on every different platform. It really fits the Bill. Greg. Well done. Thank you. Thank you. Are you ready to all right? Let's just get into it. Let's just get into Clayton Kershaw has historically a choker in the postseason. How does that make you feel the dodgers person? I knew this is where you were going to. Choker lucky? Okay. Well, I wouldn't call last night choke job in the lightest, and I wouldn't call what he did in this post-season at all so jobs either. I know he got hit up pretty good in game. One of a lot of that was defensive errors. And again, the same thing happened last night to a lot of defensive miscues sensitive freeze catches that ball. That's just a little pop up. It's a totally different inning two runs. Probably don't score. If we even after that throws to second base or hit the cutoff man instead of home, Benintendi is not on second base. There's a lot of different miscues that happened that made it so it was tougher for him. But yes Kershaw is. Now, a guy that is not his an average pitcher right now is not the the great all-powerful Kershaw anymore. Would you describe him as a bump? Now, I'm just giving your heart. Greg. Greg Bergman here on the show a dozen amazing job. If you're a baseball fan if you're a dodgers fan checkout his post game show. He's a host four dodgers nation. It's greg. This is true. You ask me you sent me a note. We started doing watching any good, right? And I I didn't wanna watch it. Because otherwise, you have to call you be like man, you suck. And it was incredible. It's really good. It's really insightful. It's really smart. And if you're a fan of the dodgers were baseball, check it out. There's a lot of ways to find it. But I would say the easiest is on Greg's Twitter handle at Bergman Greg at Bergman, Greg. So so what we through because I'm really curious. Great, greg. There's this. There's this golf right outside of Los Angeles, people view, and I would argue probably accurately view Clayton Kershaw as a guy that can handle the big moment. They will like I have point two zero in the postseason. Well, over four point three a stark difference from his what two point three something ERA in the regular season on on. Goes in Los Angeles. They like to believe that. There's a more nuanced perspective. You're in LA guy. You're from there. You were raised their your Dodger's fan. What is from your perspective the right way to assess who Clayton Kershaw has been in the many moments in October when he has taken them out. Clayton Kershaw basically six inning pitcher for the most part from what he has now become what he's really been for most of his career. You gotta think those those numbers numbers. Don't tell the whole story Bill you have to really look a little bit deeper into it. A lot of those runs. Our while. They are charged to him are not actually given up by him. There was times where the bullpen was absolutely terrible. When they played Saint Louis and he had to go seven innings because because Don Mattingly at the time didn't trust his bullpen because he was overworked and over used throughout the whole year. And they just weren't very good bullpen in general. Then you have Pedro buyers giving up three run home runs that bring his from one run into seven four runs real fast. I mean, his numbers are there are what they are. But there's so many other things that are going behind it. Even last night. He gave up three runs but two more got tacked on after Ryan Madson almost got them out of that inning. By the way, just a very quick. Zander Bogart's run the first stop that from being getting Madsen getting out of that inning. So I think if you can get him through those six innings who he is you actually see his numbers dipped very, very good. He's a very good one of the best ever possibly post-season pitchers. Threw six innings after that it kind of falls apart. Greg Bergman here on the show. And if you listen to the program a lot, a thank you and be your call, right? Come on the show from NFL network. You've heard me bring up Chicago narichicago game. I beat of a trivia game. I beat him in. You've heard col- start basically losing his marbles on the radio talking about how Birdman framed him this evening. That is amazing. This is that Bergman. This is the Bergman Greg give me some perspective here because I have heard various things back in my L A dodgers days when I was back in L A on the dodgers rate local radio network. I had heard people say that Dave Roberts is collaborative with the front office. But he's making his own in game decisions that relates the bullpen and people that I trust me now man like Friedman and four hundred ninety are telling him what to do in game Bravo's gets a lot of criticism for our managers that bullpen and the Pedro bias thing jumps out from last night. Do you believe it's possible that someone that front office is actually instructing him or communicating in real time? I don't think it's in real time. I do think that they have meetings beforehand, and it's all basically laid out in front of them in every situation possible. And when they get to the bottom when when you say, okay, if you're in the seventh inning and Devers is coming up. He's really bad against lefties takes out. Whoever is in. I don't care who it is whoever there pitching takeout, bringing a lefty, Alex. What is the right guy for that situation? And so they start they already have that basically planned out for him. Once it gets into the game. He's in has to decide to actually do that. But because he has those conversations with the front office. It's very much. Far sight, easy and Andrew Friedman. Choice. I think that basically what day Robertson job is is to just get along with the front office is just get along with the front office and the players and keep that that Doug. Clubhouse together in playing well together. That's really his biggest job. So Greg Bergman in a lot of ways it's like a GI Joe choose your own adventure. If this guy comes up turn to page, thirty two. Oh my God. We lost the Red Sox, in fact, pretty much pretty much, and yes, it's I think that that in his mind it was the right idea because he thought Devers coming in. But you have to think, of course, they're just gonna pinch hit for somebody with a righty. And then you with a lefty, and then you have left you left you match up at Fenway park. Which is you don't wanna be a lefty pitcher Fenway park. So especially against another left us a bad decision. Taking up Pedro buys was a bad decision. And I think in his mind, it was the best move was. Okay. I think that you're going to bring in a pinch hitter. And we're going to get into your bench a little bit. So that's why it's the right idea. The patriot was growing really really well and for a guy who most dodger fans heated for the last three years. He's now Mr. reliable, and he should have stayed in the game. He is Greg Bergman. Postgame dodger show host for dodgers nation, executive producer of the Mason in Ireland show on ESPN LA, seven ten AM. And by the way, also on his Twitter handle at Bergman, Greg. The man that has just given straight blue steel to the world if that advertising, it's blue seal looking at my soul. I got I got a click it off as I talk to you. All right. So you you do right. It's very aggressive. Greg Bergman you you do the post game show, you produce a radio show. That's very popular out. You're very connected there. What's the mood in as a panic? Walk us through what the feeling is in Los Angeles, California right now. Most dodger fans I mean, it's a little bit split. But for the most part dodger fans are incomplete and utter panic mode, but this isn't anything new the dodgers dodger fans in LA were in panic mode when they were down ten games early in the year and the low five hundred early in the year the pen they were in panic mode when they lost the division lead in the last week of the season just to come back and win the division in game one sixty three when they lost one game in the NFL Bs people panic down same with the Milwaukee series down to one down one oh got tied three three panic mode panic mode panic everybody here in LA is always panicking. And this is just not the time to do that. It's one game. And it's almost expected you gained one of a World Series in Boston. The dodgers should lose that game. I mean, you lose on the road game one very very often. So it's to be expected they had chances to win. And I think that's why it's bears. Well for tonight that they should have. They should have more chances to win tonight as Greg Greg. Ryan, I opened the show writing off your dodgers saying the series is over saying that it was done saying that they couldn't LA fan too. I mean, I am I I love another cubs fan. Right. But I love Los Angeles. And you know, this is you make a connection with people when you have the opportunity to go into their homes and be on a radio program that if you're lucky enough, they they listen to I rooted for the dodgers in the series. I felt that that that gloom walk me through what a dodgers World Series win. Looks like how plays out against the Red Sox team that is so dangerous. That is so good that rolled through the one hundred one Yankees and one hundred and three when stroz David price looking like he can handle the moment. What does the dodgers victory in the series? Look like, it looks like you're you're. Of the David price that you saw in that last week people regressed play. Joke, but I stopped. Well done, but it up David price is not a good postseason pitcher. He had one good out. And he has three wins in his in his career in the postseason in two of those came as a reliever his first win as a starter ever in that to close out the the AL CS. So I think tonight it's going to be a lot of the same. Manny Machado hits. Hits him. Really, really? Well, he has five home runs. Eighty Darby is get an over one Thousand Oaks he's going to hit him. Again. I think where he is the way that this blind up this dodger lineup works. It did what it was supposed to against Chris sale. Chris sale is there as their big, man. He didn't get out of the fourth inning pitched to one batter in the fifth. But he couldn't get out you only pitched four innings on the stat line. So it's that's exactly what they're gonna do tonight. They're going to be patient against Christ. They're gonna make sure that. That they're going to get his pitch count way up. Get back into the bullpen trying get a couple more runs. I think they're going to jump on him early.."
