The man who made an unauthorized departure from Metro Corrections two weeks ago, is now back in custody after being captured in southern Indiana, the U. S marshal's office. Confirming that Anthony Martinez is back in custody. Martinez exited the Hall of Justice September 29th, breaking to 1/5 floor window and then using a hose to repel down the building. The the Madison Police Department posted about the arrest On Tuesday evening, He was captured in a wooded area near Hanover when located. He fled from police but was later captured near a church. A Taser was used to help bring Martinez into custody without incident. He has a criminal background that includes robbing at least four banks going back as far as 2015. One of those robberies was at a credit union in Madison in 2019. He's now facing state and federal charges for the robberies in both Indiana and Kentucky.
