Your emergency situation station startling ten nine nine three WBT what's out on over to the newsroom my girls got the update all right Brad Riley is moving to prevent utilities from turning off power water to north Carolinians struggling financially during the viral pandemic governor Roy Cooper this afternoon says he signed an executive order to prevent customer cut off for non payment for sixty days during this crisis some just don't have enough money these protections will help families stay in their homes and keep vital services like electricity water and communications going as we stay at home state officials also reporting an increase in North Carolina call that nineteen cases to about fifteen hundred and seventy seven counties including eight deaths as of this morning officials still expecting a hospital bed shortage as the number of cases grow this spring but as of today North Carolina health commissioner Dr Mandy Cohen says forty percent of hospital beds are open as of this morning twenty five percent in intensive care units the food banks are part of a growing number of efforts to help people and families struggling to get enough food during this emergency WBTW last we spoke to one group that expects demand to go up in the coming weeks were okay for now but I am worried about the quantity of food three to four weeks from now the postal executive director of loaves and fishes food bank for six days we had thirty five hundred family lives in fish's biggest needs we're gonna need to continue to purchase food and Paul quantities for the time being so financial support will be critical we are using some volunteers on a very limited basis for safety reasons obviously there is another need to got a lot of hunger fighters out there on the front line they need to stay safe and healthy but they're not going to give up on our neighbors in need children especially B. two radio trump administration today rolled back Obama era vehicle mileage standards administrations EPA chief says the new rule is sensible strikes a balance between regulation of protecting the environment the move raises the ceiling on fossil fuel emissions for years to come and that's one of the.
