STO CRIMINAL THE FENCE DOT COM S. T. L. CRIMINAL DEFENSE DOT com. They're they're available twenty four seven three one four six four five forty four hundred three one four six four five forty four hundred well Ben. I'm not not really a really eventful game number. One you know just kind of a whole no big deal playoff baseball right totally boring hard to stay hard to stay awake awake for Danny new. Could you answer anything else. I mean my God yet yet. Fireworks you had intrigued you had some some mistakes that guy's bounced bounce-back from and and then what the hitter there to end the game with Carlos Martinez doing his thing as he does best making everybody chew through their fingernails before he get the job done but man he would win. I mean try. It's hard to overstate that to have one in in the bag on the road with Jack. flaherty already not having pitched yet kernels are in a pretty good spot. That's seven six one. I'M GONNA start with the first inning and we'll dive all the issues that you're talking about here but miles. Michael Kalisz had thirty two walks in thirty two starts this year he had to in the first inning then you had Colton Wong by certain metrics rated as the third best best second baseman defensively in all of baseball he made I was looking at these numbers. He made three hundred ninety six out of four hundred and three chances of what they call certain almost certain chances and that's any chance that has a play probability of ninety to one hundred percent. He makes an air and I'm thinking this first inning thing is not Cardinal Baseball of twenty nineteen but Michael is to his credit settled in they kept the crowd out of it for the most part not the whole time but for the most part it was a a rambunctious crowd it could have gone a lot of different ways after that first inning but give them credit they settled in and and kept it a ballgame yeah yeah. I mean miles really buckled down to the point that you know they were calling. The bullpen had guys up and the in that first any went okay. How's this GONNA turn out. He's sweating. It's hot there and then you. Have you know the defense that really is the reason the cardinals there. I mean we spent this entire. You know September talking about run suppression. Here's how the cardinals were going to have to survive in the play offs and they're just GONNA choke teams out defensively and then Colton makes it completely uncut and like play now now. Some of that might be a little bit arrest. Dan I mean he hasn't played much and he's still he's not quite right. He's he's right enough to be out out there and I think he's right enough to be in the lineup. We saw that he can still swing the bat but if you watch them run getting tagged out at home by a wide margin he's not himself in terms of speed and probably his reign so he's also learning the the abilities of what he can do out there under this kind of limited somewhat limited frame mhm so I I think some of that's also jitters. I mean you got a lot of guys in this infield Dan that haven't been here before the whole the whole left side of that infield had ed had never been in a postseason game before and then throw in Marcello soon in the outfield as well so I think you saw some jitters I think you I think you saw awesome. Guys have to take a deep breath but once the cardinals did that then they pretty nice absolutely I said on our post game on Fox Sports Midwest just last night that I thought Matt Carpenter had the biggest hit of the regular season with his home run off Kimbrel against the cubs at Wrigley and I thought last night his hit may may have been the biggest hit of that game. There was a bunch of them but that was that was a big one absolutely and and and how about the ones that that just were within you know a couple couple inches of being foul I mean let's talk about a game of inches. you know the. Marcelo Zuniga hit on the left baseline. Colton long hit on the right. I I mean these were these. Were these were hit. That were where you know. You're leaning forward trying to see where they were. They fair or foul and that's what can can flip a game. I mean Matt Carpenters. I agree with you biggest game but it almost looked like it was a shot of a sand pit. I mean it was just kind of this weird weird a blue pit and and then of course you have all Goldsmith who there was nothing weird about that I think he nearly broke Charlie. Charlie Marlins hand out there in the in the outfield seats combination of at all day. I mean that's that's what jumped out to me is is you look at the box score and everybody was doing something We've talked so much much about what happens when the first four offense doesn't get going well Dexter Fowler he makes an outstanding play on the basis. you know that that rope a dope going around around second base as a veteran move and he say to for the exactly the right time any executed brilliantly. He's on the board you. HAVE TOM BE ADLEMAN with two hits. He comes back. Yeah I can make up for you know what but certainly you know disappointed him that play they could have been made they think they took it away from being an error but when a ball hits you in the chest so you feel like you gotta make it Zuno head-to-heads audio's hit list and then young picks them up with two heads colds along as to their offense wasn't the offense was not the issue in this game and I think that bodes well for the cardinals in this series they they're in offense that we've seen when they can catch a rhythm and they can catch run. They'll produce runs for awhile and they don't always have it but they kind of do it in Jags and that was a perfect time to be on one so I I saw that as a really positive sign and everything I saw too was I just saw a game that allows guys maybe a rough break here and there and then gave them opportunities to make up for it and they did Tom the Edmund but let's that ball get away from and then comes up with a big hit later Paul Goldschmidt that certainly was not a was not an error that ball jumped over his head on the one hop but you the only wanted to get to it and wish you would've gotten to it and he makes the you know the one of the best stretches. You'll see to make an out at first base later in the game. I mean you just saw guys who heads I'd say. I wish I could have had that with that. Play back and then they went out and made another play that made up for it and I think I think you saw a team that okay we belong here and we're. GonNa Start acting like it and the braves kind of did the opposite. I mean base running errors Ronald Kunia Juniors a great player but he he ran the basis Perry poorly in and that game it cost him when he thought that ball was gone and it wasn't trying to steal on you out of your Molina in the first inning when you had when you Kinda had miles Michael it's on the ropes so that that was a really bizarre decision. the braves did not take advantage of every opportunity and ended up costing them. Brian Snickers said afterwards that Ah Kunia Nya in the first inning that he had the green light went on his own carpenter by the way had been to for eighteen against milan-san who wound up throwing twenty-eight pitches his in the game last night. I A third you you mentioned the follower play and this is where I think it's separated the cardinals from the braves in that game couple things one and was the play by follow I third cardinals when eighty seven times I third and like you said appropriately rope a dope and it was a great play by by Dexter Extra Fowler the the non base running by Kunia costume followers base running help them and then in the ninth inning a team. That's been defined by defense in two thousand nineteen. Paul Goldschmidt comes up with the stretch of the night and the pick of the night and when you add those things together it means a win. I just thought a KUNAS KUNAS decision not to run after he had been been through this before earlier this year was awful and then when Chris Martin gets hurt you could kind of feel you know all of a sudden the momentum which was at the the grasp in the in the hands of Atlanta it shifted in Ah loud that that door to creek you know open just a little bit and the cardinals took advantage of it with all those different facets yeah and then you're as soon as that."
