Listen: Mike, Boxing, United States Marine Corps discussed on Guard the Guardians
"He was there earned the naval academy boxing team three national championships as a light heavyweight why is boxing so relevant. Well, we'll get into that in a second. But long story longer. Mike's background started out super shady never knew his father came from an extremely poor background poor neighborhood worked his ass off with the help of his mom to get himself into the naval academy prep school. And then ultimately into the naval academy to then graduate as United States Marine corps officer. He did several deployments with the Marine Corps. Two of which were to Afghanistan. So he's gonna share some of his wisdom in terms of what it's like to lead a platoon, you know, going from being mister nice guy trying to be everybody's friend to then having a better understanding of what is best not always popular but best for his unit for his troops. And then moving from that experience into working as the head of residential life at Saint Benedict's preparatory school and also becoming president of ironbound USA slash ironbound boxing. And this is where the boxing comes back in play. So part of what Mike is trying to do is. He is trying to serve children who are underprivileged and underserved in their neighborhoods. So Mike having come from underprivileged background in the first place knows firsthand what it's like to grow up in that environment. And how readily it can screw up the rest of your life. If nobody steps in to help. So he's not only looking to help kids.."
