I can about technology and how I feel like technology has played a big role in at least for me in getting through this this these toxins and and has played a big role in it and I did notice that Allegheny county now has a new thing and their site and it's called the Pittsburgh food map and you can go to this Pittsburgh food map and it really serves a variety of different things so if you want to volunteer for food distribution you want to help pass out food somewhere there's a spot for you there if you are looking for somewhere to get food there are places for you there if and then it breaks it down so if you're a senior and you're looking for places that are giving out food for seniors you can follow the little rings on the map that have just places for seniors if your students if your family when it's open when those spots are open when they're giving out food so all you have to do is go to the Pittsburgh food mapping again this is from the Allegheny county website you can click on whatever it is you're looking for and there are opportunities that you can add to it as well so if you have a new location and you want to add something so there's a tab or submit a new location so maybe you know of a new place it's giving out food you can add that to the map if you have other specifics a if there's a place that's on the map it's no longer there you can add that get involved with the food bank get involved with four one two food rations rescue so it's almost like a one stop shopping if anything that has to do with free food distributions so there's a place to volunteer if it's at a place that's distributing food it says if this site is for any one who needs food if this is Jasper senior citizens on my and this is just for students only and you know sometimes our students are overlooked but our students sometimes are among the hungriest of our populations and students often are not included in that count so you can guide in this map and I'm just the I'm on the map right now so I'm just going to click on one of these and see what it says it says status last updated so I tell you how updated the information is it's hours use I just clicked online so it says population served meals to anyone eighteen and under services for students I tell you the name of the project the tell you the address of the projects where it's located it tells you what their pickup times are when you can go in this case it says Monday through Friday eleven AM to one PM and then it says we will be providing a package of three days worth of lunches with breakfast for the next day and then it has the contact information and it was last updated on March twenty fourth that's the perfect information and if you're looking if you have that moment in time that you're looking for a place you need to get some food this is a great resource or if you have that moment where you're thinking I'm not working I can volunteer I can give you some time this is a place where you can go and look and it includes other areas too says Allegheny county Washington County is on this map Butler County is on this map Beaver County it includes a large area so it's really a a great resource for anyone who is looking for food information if you're looking for food if you want to volunteer for food again it's called the Pittsburgh food map and I found it through the Allegheny county website information it looks like it's continually updated and sometimes we are sitting at home and we don't know where to go we don't know where to turn and we pick up the phone and sometimes we don't even know where to call well this is a wonderful resource for that kind of information and again there are tabs on there if you know of a place you can provide information you can make referrals you can add updated information and it also tells you the last time a particular site information was updated so you don't have to worry about wow is this from last month is this from last week it'll tell you the last time that site was updated because and this day and age you know just because they had food last week doesn't mean they have food today we saw the long lines out and you came yesterday in fact the whole country side along lines of cars at the food distribution site yesterday that really in its own way tells the story of how many people in our area need food but coming up on one fifty five let's check in now triple a cabin.
