Listen: Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, Harry Reid discussed on Todd Schnitt
"I'm tasty days sitting in for Todd and. The amount of analysis that I've been reading on this when I think, and it's pretty darned simple and now against there's going to be some sort of follow up. Media call the Mitt Romney thing. And if you don't know what the Mitt Romney thing is please allow me. So essentially. Well, the story itself has multiple layers the reasoning I suspect is not basically what you have is incoming Republican freshmen, although describing Mitt Romney is as a freshman anything considering the lengthy amount of service, both his governor and. The the work. They did on the US Olympics in which a lot of it was government coordinated stuff. And of course, the part where he was the Republican nominee for president. Right. So Mitt Romney, obviously is not an unknown name. And by the way, I find it very ironic that today the very same day that Mitt Romney has his piece. They also have the I guess he's he's dying. Harry Reid where he just he unloads he figures. Hey, I'm I'm on my way out. And so here's what I really think. And remember the unapologetic nature of what Harry Reid did to Mitt Romney. And if you if you don't remember, let me remind you Harry Reid stood near on the Senate floor and essentially asserted that Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes. And I have people have told me this. And what are you gonna do about it? And it was brought up once it was determined that was complete and utter Bs. It was brought up to Harry Reid in an interview once Rodney already lost the election in Harry Reid's response famously was well it worked did it. So no love lost there. But they they decide that today is the day, and they both have free high profile attacks of on Donald Trump. And then what would that then brought about was the chairwoman of the RNC who just happens to mitt Romney's happens to be her her uncle this show, you how incestuous all of this is. Comes out and her name is Rona McDaniel, and she didn't mince words, she responded to her uncle's anti-trump op, Ed. I'm basically says Podesta's attacked and instructed by the MSN MSN media and Democrats twenty four seven for an incoming Republican freshman Senator again, her uncle. To to attack Donald Trump as their first act feeds into what the Democrats in media one in it's disappointing and unproductive. But now remember the historical relationship with Mitt Romney and Donald Trump going back to the primaries. Where? Mitt Romney went after Donald Trump then in a public manner. And Donald Trump. His rebuttal was hey, Mitt Romney didn't mind me when I was giving them money and bundling forum or in and in previous things that we've worked together. And and now he he hates me. And so he fell into the the the Trump lash that many others, including Jeb Bush, and Marco Rubio and others got in and around that time. So they don't like each other. Mitt Romney, obviously coming out of the state of Utah, which while it is a highly conservative state. It is one where you have had separation. Ideological separation of some of the representatives, and and not just miss Mitt Romney you. You have Utah's an interesting state in when they do polling. What? How people vote it's not it's not necessarily going to be a surprise. But the issues that are most likely to cause him to vote just due to the sheer volume of unity through the the shared religious experience in the state of Utah. Makes it one where a lot of the Donald Trump background stuff. That others have said look. Yeah, it's not good. But this thing matters more weighs more heavily in the minds of voters. If you look at the statistics, and some of the the interviews that they've done out there through the various polling agencies. So yeah, I get it. I think it's unproductive. But for all the reasons I just told you I don't know that any of it's really surprising. And I don't. Other than the fact that Mitt Romney is going to find himself as he did previously with quite a bit of FaceTime on a networks like CNN. In fact, he was on. He was on what he was on during the presser that followed the meeting on CNN, so while FOX, and and I presume others were running Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer there. They got Mitt Romney over there. On CNN. Because he's he's willing to go on. And he's willing to bash Trump when the big takeaway the thing that I think is is just the most interesting to me is. The part where? Yes, Mitt Romney and Donald Trump. There's no love lost there. And there was some particularly nasty back and forth.."
