Listen: Donald Trump, President Trump, Kansas discussed on Don't Worry About The Government
"But you know, the other issues going to be as you're sending these people way who you replacing them with and who wants to come in and do this. And I think Trump is going to probably be relying on deputy secretaries a lot to kind of run things because I don't think he's going to be able to get people who want to be figureheads because they don't want to be under the threat of congressional investigation. Well, I've I've never felt that the while. It's funny to talk about how many people have resigned, right and the Trump administration and the rate of resignations, and how many people have changed over and things like that. Politically, I don't think from where Trump gets his his political energy from it matters much. This is the star of the apprentice, this is the guy who fires people. This is the especially for his base, but a little bit broadly even beyond his his real supporters. I think the perception of Trump is somebody who has letting people go is not necessarily a negative thing there, particularly if we go to his base, and there's there's reasons why the base although small is very politically important. We've talked about in the past. I mean when a guy, you know, as much okay? So the term was terrible. In terms of the house races, a horrible for Republicans became worse. As more of the votes were counted still has half of his party. And that's what really matters. He still has have his buddy you still talking about a guy who can say, I don't like the governor of Kansas and the governor of Kansas loses a primary now, of course, it lend it it. It ended up in defeat for the Democrats. And I do think there's all of these plays where Democrats are going to pick off. You know, the things that that come like gifts really that come from Trump. I don't believe Kansas would have been in contention absent Trump being president. I don't think it was on the Democrats list. Pretty rare to have it hits happened know, but it's pretty rare. But at the same time, that's still goes. You're talking about a person who can name somebody in primaries in Georgia in Florida in South Carolina in Kansas and have his person win. And I don't think that power is diminished a bit by the fact that they lost the election in Kansas. His supporters want that him to fight. He's a guy that comes to Washington, so Claude Raphael is a guy that the you know, is a French. Business analyzer and and fainter and the Democrats under Clinton hired him. And he was the one who came up with the idea that after the fall Soviet Union. The congress was now the the Soviet Union. Right. So that Clinton had to act against congress. And he's he's very fond of coming up with frames so severely bad frame. It's a really really hot that worked pretty well for but ninety five ninety six worked very well that now ca congress was the Soviet Union to the president the president had to stand up to congress. And I think that you know, with the presidency the kind of frame that he came up with was Americans view, the president's Moses. The president comes into Washington to part the Red Sea to to move things to do things to change things. And if you take that structure for a moment, and then put Trump in it. Yes, I understand there's always a little funniness or it's it's it's we can laugh a, and I think it's a disaster. And a lot of things that are going on or or badly for my view. But there's also this then moves the conversation every day. I mean as we're taping this week. He was able to start off the week by making the conversation about building the wall again and getting funding for the wall. And he was able to get and Chuck and Nancy to go up to his office in his White House and sit down with him in his vice president. And he was like I want funding for the wall. Trump is always been very very effective at something that you've identified which is the people want the president to be the national conversation maker. And I think to the extent that Barack Obama kind of fell into the back.."
