"McCoy again this week, but I think it's beneficial to wait and see. And if it gets confirmed that Kyler Murray's gonna play in the line balloons for the Cardinals, you know what? You know, you just sit it out and say, okay, I didn't get the best number I can move on. That's kind of up to you how you want to play that strategically. But again, the quarterback situation extremely important. Also extremely important to keep hicks questionable for the bears this week as is called commit, but that defensive line without Khalil Mack, if Kyle Murray's back, that could be a rough situation. However, I will say to be completely fair, you also have to remember, right? We have seen some quarterbacks come back from injury and look real rusty, right? Russell Wilson has not looked like himself after his finger injury. We've seen dak Prescott come back from an ankle injury. And he has not looked like himself. Kyler Murray now, trying to come back from the same type of thing, is he going to look like himself? There's no guarantee that's going to be the case. If he is playing, I like the 7 and a half with the Cardinals, but I do think that it is worth at least finding out what you're going to be getting at quarterback before you lock this one in. At least you know going in not to expect a ton offensively from the Chicago Bears, no matter who is playing at quarterback for four Arizona. You also have to remember Arizona is unbelievable on the road this season. They are 6 and zero on the road this season. They are a team that certainly capable of going out there. And you have to remember, they've also they've won games without their starting quarterback on the road. They have won a game without their coach on the road in Cleveland earlier this season. So it's not as if they are not used to handling adverse situations on the road, just something to keep in mind before you lock this game in. Next up, our final game before we get to halftime, here on the program, chargers, bangles, chargers, three point underdogs heading into this game total 50 and a half. Of course, last week, the Chargers losing on the road to the Denver Broncos, the bangles, meanwhile, beating up on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the 40 burger on a division rival, which is certainly impressive. And this is a game where, you know, you're kind of wondering which of these two young quarterbacks, whether it's borough or Herbert is really going to step up and make the plays needed to win this game. You know, for me, I would lean towards Cincinnati here, being at home is certainly a benefit in this game, but I just think that the play of the bangles offensively has been more consistent throughout this season. I Herbert has a bright future ahead of him. I think both of these quarterbacks do even though I was not high on burrow to say the least when he came out of LSU. But I just think that he has lacked sort of the consistently high level play that borough has brought for much of the season. I also think that, man, Joe Mixon and running back to this Bengals team has now that he's kind of healthy and he's playing consistently. It has just been a breath of fresh air for this team. They now have a really multi dimensional offensive attack. And the Chargers have that at times with echo, but again, I just think it's inconsistent. I think that the consistency of the bangles is going to win the day here. And that's a sentence that I never thought. My entire life that I would ever utter that the consistency of the Cincinnati Bengals would be what helped them through any situation. But that's kind of where we are this season, man. Offensively, they have been very strong and I think that that continues here on Sunday against the charges. So that is the first half. We've reached halftime..

Panthers' Matt Rhule Is Making a Bid for Best NFL Coach This Season

"I wanna talk about the best young coach football. And it's not necessarily sean mcveigh. It's clear that it's not only an indictment on the new york jets operation. But what you're seeing was sam darnold in the carolina. Panthers is pretty remarkable the knock on darnold out of college there to know with too comfortable wins but the knock on darnold out of college and i watched every snap was his accuracy issues. What does he completing now. Seventy percent of his throws. He doesn't make mistakes total composure. It would be easy to just say. This is an indictment on the jets but instead of just the negative side. Let's look realistically at the positive side. Not only has met rule made darnold more comfortable. This defense has twenty one quarterback hits and ten sacks in two games. What does that tell you. The culture of the carolina. Panthers is headed in the right direction. It also tells you. This is a remarkable stat on matt rule. The coach carolina going back to the beginning of last year. You will not believe this. Carolina leads the nfl with the fewest. Three and outs that with teddy bridgewater and start with. Sam darnold. nothing about that not mahomes. Not lamar jackson. Not tom brady. Not derek carr not matt ryan not russell wilson not aaron rodgers. No the fewest three and outs matt rule. Teddy bridgewater and sam darnold but this is a offensive line. That outside of right tackle graded poorly left. Tackle all the way to right guard. What matt rule is doing with this sub optimal often. It's of line. The scarce number of three out the revamping rebooting of sam darnold is really mind-blowing

"russell wilson" Discussed on Straight Outta Vegas with RJ Bell

"I this was out in the last twenty. Four hours was that this contract had been on the table. But that jamal adams and his agents the sticking point for them was they wanted forty million dollars guaranteed and the seahawks refused to give him forty million guaranteed and basically communicated. We'll just do this year by year. We can keep tagging you if that's the case and so all of this was over two million dollars and it was jamal adams side that caved. I mean if russell wilson had that much of an impact. I think he would have been able to call get in touch with seattle and say it's just an extra two million dollars. Let's get this done so we can move forward and seattle wouldn't budge now. That's a fascinating point because it's back to the question we asked in. The first segment is if you're russell wilson you're thinking okay. I got my. There's two ways he could be thinking one is okay. I got my guy and we save themselves a little bit of money more money for me. More money to go round or you could be thinking in. Hmo ashy which one you think. 'cause you're the russell wilson sear. I guess the oracle is or is he saying you know something they could have given him the forty he wanted. Why are they doing him wrong. Yeah i got jamal. But i'm mad because they didn't do him right so it could be spend less money and still get to goodwill or could be spent a lot of money not get the good well. What do you think's happening. It's i highly doubt that russ looks at that. Contract and says man they. They didn't do jamal right. I mean he's out for weeks and weeks over that sticking point. I mean it wasn't just you last week. That said don't let the the the the small decimal places bother you. Give an extra million here or there to keep russell wilson. Happy seattle didn't do that. They ended up winning the negotiation. They didn't concede the point. Jonas sad boy to me at could be all good or it could be like a a hollow victory. Yeah it's tough for me to to get what you're saying. It's just tough for me to believe that russ let jamal adams feels like he didn't get a great deal on this either so i feel like everybody should be happy with this deal..

Russell Wilson still wants Antonio Brown in Seattle

"Elements so last week long time. Nfl insider. john. Clay said on ninety three seven. Bannon pittsburgh that russell wilson is lobbying the team to sign super bowl winning receiver antonio brown wilson's name has come up in trade talks this season Obviously he hasn't been fully pleased with the seattle seahawks. That's no secret max kellerman. What's your reaction to wilson wanting. I'm confused here. I'm confused because abc does not come the same discount. He came on last year. The bucks right. There's a market for him. Now that's going to be more competitive than it was so it's not just like give basically getting abc for free. He wants them to lure a be away from a super bowl winning team with a great quarterback who still doing it and a great defense and everything all the things that russell wilson was complaining. He doesn't have right. Like i'm confused. Because ross i thought this was about your offensive line which through under the bus or not having a defense. Well there's a limited limited resources in the nfl per team. There's a salary cap. So you must rob peter to pay paul for every cent you spend on antonio brown. You can't spend that sent on your offensive line poor on your defense and it's not like you don't have metcalf and lock it. You have a receiving corps so of course what quarterback wouldn't want to throw the ball to. He's one of the greatest. Whoever did it but given the situation. He's lobbying for another receiver. I thought that was about the offensive line or the defense

Did Washington Do Enough to Push Dallas in the NFC?

"Did washington football teams teamers and the giants do enough to push dallas in the nfc. So i left philly out. I don't yeah. I just don't i am found anyone who really thinks they're going to be competitive. I mean let's wait and see got jalen whatever. But that's a team that they're not really fun to talk about. Because their free agency considered like stripping you know but i mean they did sign at harris for like nothing which is probably better sightings but what you have in jalen also you serianni. Yes hundred percent but washington in york both very active and did interesting. Things i think are worth discussing because dallas after the dak prescott deal was finally done. They've kind of made a few moves around the margins adding kia neil. Getting tied as kind of swing. Tackle still have question marks at adra sure and coroner but washington like i think they might have had my favorite free agency or at least the one that i'm most excited to see. I don't know payoff on the field. So just to recap. They signed the aforementioned ryan fitzpatrick one year. Ten million dollars. They tag branch eff. Who's there Pro bowler guard. They signed william jackson from the bengals. Cornerback three years. Forty two million dollars and then added panthers wide receiver. Curtis samuel for three years thirty four point five million dollars so just starting like let's start here. Do you agree with me like do you. Do you like what they did. And do you think it makes them an actual competitor in the division. A really like what. Washington did You know. I think among the guys among the quarterback that they could get because not only were they never in it for russell wilson or or wherever really going to be competitive for shawn watson You had to start looking okay. We'll what's realistic. And it's the ryan fitzpatrick coming off his best his career. It's an andy dalton and whereas that really gonna lead you I think that there was a lot of interest in marcus. Mariota he still is not able to sign with another team because the raiders are still holding him hostage But so. I like the quarterback. Move because you're essentially saying let's build up the team the and let's have the strongest team possible around the quarterback position where we don't sell out just because we have to for that position free agency. Maybe they make a move at the draft for a guy that they have their eye on. Or maybe they just say let's. Let's keep the boat floating this year and let's make our move Next free agency. So i thought that they probably overpaid by million or two on curtis samuel. But they wanted him And and ron rivera really likes them. Obviously william jackson an incredible deal You look around and you need another pass rusher and they can they can probably keep ryan kerrigan as a third down specialist if he comes down off his number end so you know he's he's still doing that. He's gonna get paid a whole lot of money. I'm not sure that that money is really out there especially at this point in free agency so they didn't want to mortgage their future for for quarterback right. Now they wanted to keep the boat afloat. I that and so. I like what they have done. Specially on evens. Then when you consider the the sort of offense and the pre-snap that they can have with all those offensive playmakers. Now that curtis annuals there with terry corn. I really like with done.

Predictions vs Reality NFC West, Seattle Seahawks

"I predicted the Seattle Seahawks to go 11:00 and 5 last year. I pretty much nailed it. They went 12 and for the only game I missed was the San Francisco 49ers. I could not predict that the $59 would have a bunch of injuries. I thought that the Seattle Seahawks and the 49ers would split their series each win one game against each other instead Seattle beat the 49ers in both games. So that's literally the one game it's kind of crazy. I was horribly wrong about the Cardinals the Rams the 49ers. I nailed Seattle. My prediction was right there for I'm actually not that interested in Seattle. Like I like I said, I'm actually way more fascinated when I get stuff horribly wrong. I said before the year that Seattle relies too heavily on Russell Wilson, they're starting quarterback 2000sq them from their problems and kind of ended up being true now, they brought in the receiver Phillip Dorsett. They brought in Phillip Dorsett from New England. I was curious to Phillip Dorsett kind of a breakout year and Go from a guy who was infuriating to watch a New England to maybe having a great season playing with Russell Wilson. Unfortunately Phillip Dorsett did not play a single game the poor guy hurt his foot in training camp and by November Phillip told I was getting surgery to remove bone spurs from his foot. I encourage you look up a bone spur does not look like a comfortable thing but credits yet. I Seattle try to get Russell Wilson some Playmakers. I thought we were set to not work out. Josh. Gordon did not work out. They brought in. You know Speedy Josh Gordon. He had a setback in recovery. Seattle had to end up cutting him so long so brought in Greg Olsen. They they got a veteran tight end Greg Olsen and I look I got a lot of respect for Greg Olsen. He's awesome. Last year Greg Olsen. However was underwhelming had 24 catches for 239 yards one touchdown played an only 11 games missed a couple of games with an injury. So in the end Greg Olsen retired, so Phillip Dorsett, Josh Gordon, Greg Olsen, like the move Seattle made to try to support Russell Wilson just didn't work out and that's not bad. It just it didn't it didn't work. Unfortunately right now again, I love Greg Olsen. He's amazing. I cannot wait to hear the guy in the broadcast booth next year. But now the one thing that came out very very well for Seattle on offense was DK Metcalf. G came back up Seattle second-year receiver. Oh my gosh. This guy is a monster. He had 83 catches for 1303 yards 10 touchdowns. I love to see that DK Metcalf is a receiver that is just at the beginning of his eventual domination over the NFL. He already does dominate in some games. So he keeps getting better and better and he keep getting better and better the more we watch him. Now as I look back on Seattle season, one of the things that kind of sticks out to me that's very weird still is I just did not love their 2020 first-round picks Seattle is kind of known for having weird. First round draft picks. They drafted linebacker Jordan Brooks 27th overall. And he was her early on so Jordan books now, I will say I'm not going to trash on Jordan books by the end of the year. He made some plays with doing some good stuff like Jordan Brooks. Very good football player solid right desert looks like a first-round pick the end of the year. But here's what's weird to me is that when the Seattle Seahawks went to a nickel package meaning that you bring in an extra corner or defensive back onto the field to basically stop the past when they win to track a package which is happening more and more in the NFL because teams are throwing more and more than ever before. In a nickel package. Jordan Brooks is on the sidelines not playing maybe part of that is because they were he's a rookie. They're trying to light workload. I don't know but it's kind of weird to draft a first-round pick and then not have the guy on the field. All the time makes me wonder despite Jordan Brooks being a very solid football game. Could they not have got drafted somebody 27th overall last year that could have contributed even more to their team. Just a question. I'm asking cuz I looked at it. I still book how it's bit of an odd pick life. Even though Jordan Brooks can play it's like whack could they not have done something better or maybe more interesting than Jordan Brooks just me asking a question here. You can answer for yourself. I'm just for me. I'm like man, you spend a first-round pick on a guy who's not on the field all the time,

NFL Franchise Tag: What it is and how it works

"What is a franchise tax. So you hear this word a lot. I always used to think franchise tag means. We're just gonna see that player on that specific team for the remaining of the season but there or for the next year but they're a little more complicated in that so every offseason teams have a two week window to plot to a one year franchise tag so once the player gets tagged they can either sign that contract or a long term extension. Which is the more i think. That's the more popular use of the franchise tag because a of teams don't want their their coveted players to hit free agency and they don't want another to swoop them without getting being able to offer them. I so these salaries for for each tag varies by position and the price is set by either adding the top five paid players from each position or it can be one hundred percent of a player's previous year's salary so twenty percent Increase in that salary so by position quarterback at least twenty six million a year with the franchise tag water. She was get seventeen million defensive ends get around seventeen million but less than receivers linebackers get fifteen million and so on and so forth. I think running backs get around ten million so it all depends on how guys are being being paid at that specific position so teams only can use this once a year and they can only use it on one player you can use it on the same player different years but yeah you can only had us one tag per year. There's different types of tags. There's an exclusive franchise tag which means players can't negotiate it all with other teams. There's a non exclusive franchise tag where other teams can make an offer and then The the team that has that player can match that offered and take the player And then there's a tradition. Tax tradition tags are similar to non-exclusive but players get an average of top ten position salaries instead of top five. So there's a little bit of a my discrepancy there and once the tag is applied teams have until mid july to renegotiate the contract. So like i said most common use for these franchise tag is not let a player. They want hit free agency. They wanna keep them around and then negotiate a more long-term deal to save some money and get under the cap for the foreseeable future so these somewhat can be slightly unfair A lot of players disliked the franchise tag for example on robinson is voiced his opinions against the franchise tag because it plays a lot of restrictions on upper-echelon players. So when a player like allen robinson gets franchise tagged they can't really find the real market value because they have that set price on them and if they wanted to go explore free agency then they could go interview with a bunch of teams test the waters and see what their actual worth is rather than getting a set number Just put on them so that's somewhat unfair This makes them have no financial security past one season. So if there's an injury then you know they just their value could just completely plummet. Under the franchise tag now players can hold out. That's really the only leverage they have in the su- situation but you know that's asking a lot of a player to put their public. Perception line put their reputation with the fans on the line and so most players don't do that but it has gotten to that point before so most cases players work at a deal for the tag comes into place in july which is the deadline for them to restructure. Or make that deal. So now i'm gonna get into what players have got tagged so far and What does that mean for. These teams moving forward. I player i wanted to discuss. Is alan robinson so. This one was obvious when it had to be done. Bears have a lot of uncertainty at the at the quarterback situation. So i don't think they wanted to make a long term deal without knowing where what direction they were gonna go with the quarterback. But you couldn't let player of this caliber and a player. This talented gopher nothing in return so in twenty twenty roms a career. High one hundred two passes for twelve hundred fifty yards. And he's only twenty seven which is pretty remarkable considering everything he's been through he had a tornado in two thousand seventeen with jacksonville. And he's really played with really bad quarterbacks over the years he's had blake bortles who's a backup slash bouncing around the league and he's played with mitch trubisky. Who's a failed first round pick for the chicago bears. And he's still been that he's had that production there no matter what. So i really wanna see robinson play with upper echelon quarterback and i just think if you give him a russell wilson someone who's above slightly above average maybe even just average than his numbers will go up. Even more is ridiculous so like i said he's a true number one receiver. I would argue top five in the league. He's either gonna play for seventeen million in two thousand twenty which is what his franchise tag number. I think he's looking for more around twenty million and easier gonna play under that contract or he can hold out. Which i think is definitely a possibility with this player just because of the displeasure. He's voiced on social media and kind of how players of rallied. His teammates have rallied rallied around him and they really want to see him get paid but when you look at the market value so he's gonna get paid seventeen million the tag next year.

Seattle Seahawks Today: Latest Rumors On A Russell Wilson Trade

"Originally or a few a few weeks ago russell. Wilson's camp released some information that he was unhappy in seattle. They have not formally requested a trade but it seems like the relationship has some conflict there. he has a no trade clause in his contract. There were specific exemptions from four. Team's the cowboys. The saints the bears and las vegas after dak prescott signed is extent like talked about and the raiders recently have back derek carr. They've given their full support. They they wanna move forward their cars. So that really leaves the saints and the bears as the final two candidates for possibly getting russell wilson this offseason so saints are always in salary cap trouble From what. I've learned about the salary cap they can. They ended up being able to just move money around when they need to. But they're always close to reaching that point so they're always during the cat but it seems unlikely that they will be able to make a move for quarterback this price in this caliber. So when you re comes down to it. The bears like the front runners as the most desperate team. Four quarterback if you've watched the nfl shares have always had quarterback issues. They've been in quarterback hell so to speak for the past two decades and russell. Wilson could come in and immediately fix that so the bears are desperate. And i see the bears as the front running candidate to lead russell wilson or land russell. Wilson this offseason. So when did all this start with russell. wilson is come out of nowhere I would say to myself when i first saw. Russell wilson wants out. I was shocked. But although it's not that cut and dry comes down to russell wilson. Mp carol's relationship. So they've won a superbowl. They made playoffs made. They made the playoffs. Eight times in the last nine seasons which is absurd. It's absurd to think there was wasn't been playing in the nfl for the last nine seasons But he's been assault as they come. He's true winner. he goes to the playoffs. he's clutch and i see. The situation is very similar to the tom. Brady situation new england. You had tom brady and bill play for all those years. Winning all those super bowls and talk. Although tom brady wasn't playing up to his level he wasn't playing bad and they had that loss to the titans of the playoffs. And i think he just had those two egos bill. Belichick and tom brady kind of going at each other. And they've they've finally kind of just tired of that relationship and they wanted to move on. They wanted to start. Something new. And when quarterbacks are with the head coach for so long things start to take a turn for the worst so. I'm not sure if that's exactly what's happening with p carroll and russell wilson but there are a lot of similarities there so it was reported in week. Eleven of the season. That wilson stormed out of an offensive meeting when he was trying to offer insight as to what he wanted done as on a bit done for protection standpoint and so that was the first sign the second sign is just overall. He's been getting hit way. Too much. says he's sacked. He's been three hundred ninety four times since entering the league which is on pace to be the most sat quarterback of all time which is pretty insane when you consider how well he's played and he's just been under duress running for his life literally for the last his whole career and so seattle hasn't found a way to kind of sure up that protection for him. I think that's starting to get frustrating as well. So but more specifically in two thousand twenty. He had a week nine loss to the bills. This was a defining moment for this offense offense because after that moment. Russell wilson had started to throw a lot of turnovers making a lot of risky plays they lose to the bills. The seahawks kind of started to scale the offense back like i said to limit turnovers and did not perform well for the rest of the season so before that game. They were top. Three league based on expected points added per play. They were the number three the top three leak and then after that game from from weeknight on they felt a number eighteen the remainder of the season. So that's a huge huge drop off so they really sputtered down the stretch. They were able to win games and make the playoffs through to their defense. Kind of picking picking up. Their play was weird. Their offense was so good in the beginning the defense awful and he kind of flipped that latter half of the year but he's also getting hit It doesn't seem to meet on their offensive loss of beat philosophy and he. He's definitely voiced that he wants more of a say. In the franchise direction as the franchise quarterback so all these things culminating into one is. Where would he end up.

"But really I think it's about as about as contract and also. He's married to Ciara. Yep, Entertainer singer. They are a Duo if you watch any of the pre games. This weekend, it's inside. Yeah, I mean they were all over it. And you know what it means and what he wants to do in his stage and this and that and that's what I think it's about. This is really his final act in his in his career coming up here in the next year or two because then you should go someplace else maybe plays four or five years and now he's at forty suddenly or what have you. So I think he's looking at this as his contract. And also I think he wants to be some sort of global named Global Ambassador into to him you look at the current backdrop with the NFL right now. All right. So has taken care of you have Stafford. You have Justin Herbert. That's not going to happen with New York is open right now between the Jets and also the Giants Giants are one team. We have not heard anything about in the offseason. Are they going to stick with Daniel Jones or they just sort of laying in the weeds? So la is out the second best thing or maybe the best thing is New York. And if you want to make a move to go to New York, if you're Russell Wilson and Ciara home. It's now it's now or never because the Jets are either going to get a new they're going to go all in with Sam darnold or they're going to get a new quarterback in the draft and the and the and the Giants also might not might not have an opening for long somebody they could get into the Sean Watson or somebody else now all of a sudden La in New York are closed then if you're Russell Wilson, what do you do if that's your goal? So I think to me that's where the talk the clock is ticking them to get two new to a major major Market. All right, let's jump the cars and went listen. I don't want to spend a ton of that time. I went up he looked broken last year. I have absolutely zero interest in him. If I were the Patriots you hear that the Patriots really haven't been in on the discussions. That makes me happy. Again, I don't want went and the contract and the mental stuff..

"Before he started to comment about what he thought that team should do in that stuck out to me and I said that's a that's a different approach from Wilson. He usually is very quiet about stuff like that. Mine's his own business waits to see what the team does and goes into the season and says, okay, I'm ready last offseason that changed last offseason. He started talking about surrounding him and looking at other teams and talking about talent and now you go through the season if you're Seattle, They obviously don't make the run that they wanted to make and here's Russell Wilson. Again, Brian Schottenheimer is Let Go by Seattle immediately you found out that Wilson was not happy about life. Then you found out that Wilson wanted to actually be part of the conversation about the next. Oh see who that was going to be who now has Patriots ties if you're wondering and now you have Wilson going on Dan Patrick and throwing it out there and telling everybody. Yeah. I think I should have a seat at the table. I know who's good at this game. And then he really doubles down with the media shortly after on a video conference call. It says I'm tired of getting hit. I'm frustrated. I'm sick of getting hit what's going on with this Russell Wilson Seattle Seahawks marriage in your eyes. Yeah. It's pretty interesting Nick and I think is a bunch of things at Play. Number one. I think what we're seeing and give credit cuz I think Brady was kind of the first one, but I think this was percolate percolating under the wage. For us a little bit where you know, you get a lot of these guys whether it's Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson. These guys are all huge and huge an age. They see what goes on in the NBA and these guys have been watching LeBron and these guys used their power assert their power because in the NFL it's long been the players are powerless. Yeah, they all should have all the power and you sign your contract. You got to stick with it this and that. Well, you know what Brady did his power move sort of changed things. That's not to say that it's not going to happen. I think it was because I think we're getting to a certain time in these players contracts where they realize what's going on and then the agents aren't dumb either they know what's going on and so forth. That's the first thing I think players the quarterback especially realized their power and they're starting to and that even if they're under contract they still have leverage because guess what? I'm a job Bunch of money. I'm just going to sit out. What are you going to do? Yep that sort of thing. So that's number one. Number two is far as Wilson goes I think his saying things I think that's kind of window dressing to all this. I think really what it comes down to to Russell Wilson is he's thirty-three. He's taking a lot of hints career. He's very similar Matthew Stafford and I think they're the same age just about yes and turn 33 or is about yeah and so they're very similar even though obviously Stafford. I mean Tom Wilson has had a lot more team success than Stafford has but Wilson has is one of these guys who's played behind one of the worst offensive lines in football. It has gotten better. And I know there's a lot of change about like, what was it him hanging onto the balls at this and that one aside..

"Is russell wilson. There has been episodes that he did. You know podcast and shows and Brady henderson wrote an article. Espn kinda summarize and everything. So we're gonna kinda jump around. Actually brady's article and some of the things that you know. Russell wilson has said recently It's interesting stuff. And i feel like i wanna talk about it with you guys. I want to. I definitely want your opinions on this one. This is a an interesting scenario of of sorts So first of all russell. Wilson says that you know in a very frustrated fashion that he's being hit way too many times By head i mean. He's being sacked too many times as sacks almost four hundred times is not you know it's not good enough now. Anyone who knows anything about russell wilson. The seahawks knows that while there. Are you know there's always room for improvement deficiencies on any position on team Th the seahawks definitely can improve in this position on the offense align to help russell wilson and fantasy terms. I mean we've been happy with russell. Wilson been one of the best quarterbacks in the league. No question about it. that's fantasy or not fantasy on honestly He's one of the best quarterback in league. He has great weapons In metcalfe and lock it running back situation while you know has been a little bit of a you know over. The years has been kinda up and down. But you know it's always seems like it stabilized enough where you're getting production. As long as the guy is healthy the sack situation and the offense align situation it kind of goes two ways because and russell admitted this right like part of it is often of line. Right and the other part is russell. Wilson like russell. Wilson is his own worst enemy in terms of being sacked. Because we all know. Russell wilson can hold onto the ball for way too long. You know trying to extend tinos thing plays. This is part of his his his talent his ability as the you know the the the Ability to do this right because not every night quarterback in you know run around and extend plays in and see things open up while he's running around. Not every quarterback has cable. That's a while he has this ability to do so. It also is a you know a gift and a curse of sorts In some way so sure. This hawks have to fix this But also russell has to fix his own issues and he had. He admitted this in the article. He said Here because dan patrick actually kind of excuse me dan. Patrick actually pressed him on this a little bit about you know Wilson thirty two acknowledges as much. He was asked by patrick about his sack total. He said i think that. Sometimes you hold onto it a little bit. Just because you're looking for that plane you find it but also so many of those times it turns into touchdowns to But you never wanna be sacked that many times four hundred times basically is way too many four hundred too many so i think that's a big thing we've gotta fix that's got that's got to be fixed and has to be at the end of the day because my goal is to play ten to fifteen more years fifteen tennessee more years. He's he's he and brady man. Let's just be honest. Every quarterback is the embraer right. Now like shit. I played on forty five. So yeah i mean if you wanna play a forty five. You can't be out here getting killed on a weekly basis. So i'm glad the in this situation. He acknowledged that he has to accept blame here. You know he. Essays accept responsibility is a better word Because you can't blame all this on the seahawks just obviously not just their fault The other part of this conversation. That i thought was more interested in something. I really want. Everyone else's input on is that russell wilson was said that you know. He cited brady paid manager. Breeze other top quarterbacks who who have or have had the kind of input in personnel decisions that he desires he says. I want to be able to be involved because at the end of the day. Is your legacy. It's your team's legacy is the guys you get to go into the huddle with at the end of the day. Those guys you've got to trust when you think about one of the reasons why it's how it tampa was. Because he felt like he could trust those guys and coach. Bruce arians was going to give him the opportunity. You think about guys like lebron james. He was able to be around great players that he could trust. I think for me anytime you bring free agency or other players. You want the best players guys who love the game guys who want to be part of that and as a player you kind of know that you get to be around pro bowls you get to see these kind of guys and you get to the huddle with lime in the receivers where you get to be around offensive guy so you kind of build that over time and you get to see who can really play as a player you really know. I think that the relationship is really key. I think that relationship is really key and dialogue especially being a veteran player. That dialogue is really important. This is interesting. This is interesting comment from russell wilson. Right now He also was asked if he's involved in conversations now for personnel personality. Said not as much as much as he wants to be Do you think it would help. If he's more involved. This is so this is really interesting right. Every player you would think would want to be more involved in personnel decisions because every player thinks they know the right call. Somebody probably not every player. I won't say that some players are axes questions. They say it's not my decision right. That's a team decision. That's general managers decision as a coach decisions above my pay grade. However the answer it abso-. I'm sure some of these guys want no part of it but when you have a quarterback you guys like russell wilson. He really wants to be more involved. Which kind of like man. Okay how involved. You let a guy like russell wilson. Being this. he's talking about guys. He goes to the pro bowl with and you know he plays with them in the huddle like i wrestle. We can't bring in every pro bowler number one to the seahawks number two. Don't you think if a player players in the pro bowl players really good. The seahawks management knows already at the management isn't bringing him bad players on purpose So i think more so. He wants to like when they bring in players to talk to them. He wants to be like he wants. His opinion axed he wants. What do you think about this guy. Russell what do you think russell you play with him at the pro bowl. Russell how do you feel about them. You know what will how do you think he misses. What our team. He just wants to feel important Feel a part of the decision. Making and i'm curious what the clock doubters out. There think about this. Because i'm sure there's some of you who feel like. Hey four players should play football and general managers and coaches and front office should sign players and is the players jobs to make you work. You know to build that camaraderie to build that chemistry on trust each other. Russell wasn't almost makes it feel like he doesn't trust players on his team. I i don't like some of the wording that he used there. It's almost like you know. Hey tom brady is the trust all his players. I don't get to trust mind. That's almost how it comes off. If i was seahawk fan. I'd be a little annoyed with it. You know but overall i get he just wants to be more involved. He wants his hands on things This way if things go bad he can sort of blamed himself for Rather than just defer that blame to other people i also think is interesting The we all see russell. Wilson was at the super bowl they showed him and his wife sierra talking to roger goodell and so he was also asked about Oh actually i. Before we do that he was asked about whether he thinks the seahawks have a about a potential trade and they trade him and if teams have called about him he said that he thinks you know teams have definitely called about him He believes that's just kind of part of the process for players that produce on a weekly basis like he does which goes back to the conversation that we had about. Derek carr and how teams calling about your quarterback is nothing odd. It's nothing crazy It's nothing weird for you to take those calls and the team says even though you know you're going to say no to basically That's what the seahawks are doing. This with every team is doing so russell. Wilson is aware that he understands that He says you know him. Being traded as a decision for them not for him which is funny because he decided he wanted a more say though so almost wonder what he was saying. He was axed but.

He just hobbled around and I. Love Him Linebacker, Patrick Willis who years ago I called is the number eleven pick in the draft. The steal of the draft hadn't played in over half a decade by the way Matt Ryan. Had Two seasons of a passer rating over one hundred. That's Russell Wilson's career average. And so I thought it was a slight to Russell Wilson, but what's new? Pete Carroll slights him. The organizations lights in. It's just the world lives in joining me now via coward.

"Like well. Michael could've done that being nice good because that's not what happens. Even the people that are viewed as nice as relative to be. Let's be careful. There is the time to be nice. And then there's a time to be direct and being direct may be perceived as not being nice when in fact just not wasting time time. Time cannot be wasted in this situation. I think you can apply. Every scenario to what was happening with the Bulls in the last dance agree joined with the news. Well that's the news and thanks for stopping by heard. Live Dana thing yet. It's GonNa take a while to edit. Listen I have to agree with somebody all the time but I can appreciate you for something. You did Dana. Sometimes is a little rough but I appreciate his strength as we go through pandemic but he's like California didn't want the fight boom we go to Florida. You GonNa sit around and let California control everything. No He's like I run this thing. We're moving to that. Let us have it. I got young athletes. They're safer than everybody else in society. So we'll get that piece of audio by the way. It appears a pro. Football focus will come on next. Sam Munson their analyst. They rank the best players of the decade top. One hundred they had a four safeties in two guards at Russell. Wilson and Matt Ryan did not sit well with me and Gronk whom is forty-five Games in the decade Russell Wilson. You know since he arrived hasn't missed any. I will give pro. Football Focus Love Though. They listed their top four or five. Most IMPROVED OFFENSIVE LINES CLEVELAND. One Miami to jet three Denver Four for the record. I think those are four of the best five bats this year. They call them future bets over under bets. The top five offensive line's most improve the first four of five browns. Dolphins jets broncos are four of my best over bets so the over-under on Cleveland's eight and a half. I think the overs great bet Miami. Six great bet jet six and a half good Bet Denver. Seven and a half great. Bet I don't have an opinion on the giants because I don't know of Joe. Judge could coach his Web Brown paper bags. I have no idea but to their point is because fantasy football doesn't award points for offensive lines. We disregard it. That's the NFL. The NFL is built. Get a quarterback find a really good coach to guide him and then protect him. That's sport that's Laura and the NFL's changing their rules to amplify those find a quarterback get a coach who's not an idiot and protect him. Oh lines that's why Baker is going to have a very good year this year Baker. Mayfield going to have a very good year this year. I think they got grown up coach. "Heard good to Evian. I saw this where there's a story out that should compete for the dolphins Miami Dolphins starting job right now as long as the medical staff in Miami clears him. One of the reasons I think too I is the best prospect in this draft is because a lot of what he does. You can't really It's not quantifiable. And when you get people like that and we have examples of it it usually becomes great. Let me give you three examples. The first one we've talked about Russell Wilson. How can we never get head? He runs like Lamar Jackson. He runs Carson wentz eight years in the NFL. He never gets hit. You can't really explain. He runs backwards. You're not supposed to do that. He runs he shorter than you're supposed to. He never gets hit. There's an instinct with him that nobody else has. Even the Mar- doesn't have it went doesn't have it. Steve. Young didn't have it. He never gets hit you when you can't explain it it's special. Let me give you a second one. Mariano Rivera he had one pech. For Twenty years he had one pitch. It was a cutter. Nobody could hit it. He got old the pitch got slower. Nobody could hit it. You can't explain it. There's nobody in baseball. That has one pitch. He had one and he's the most unhittable revolt time. Batters knew it was coming as he got older. It got slower kid one pitch and it was often better against the better hitters. You can't explain it that special. Let me give you another Dennis. Rodman six seven and a half skinny guy is the all time best rebounder in league history. How's that possible? He played in era with Chemo. Shack and big seven-foot centers. And this skinny guy was the best rebounder. What that doesn't make any sense wasn't like he was the strongest. He wasn't the tallest he wasn't the best jumper wasn't the most powerful he hustle but lots of guys hustle. Larry Bird Hustled. Guys jumped into the stands house. Dennis Rodman the best rebounder ever. You can't quantify it. Russell Wilson Mariano Rivera Dennis Rodman when you can't qualify it. It's called special and those people usually become great Mark Sanchez on the other day. Mark Sanchez. Good College player and you know. Nfl had some success watches film. This is what he does and he tried to explain to. He couldn't really explain some of it. Sometimes you can't even articulate what he did on film and it leaves you scratching your head because it's so good and so fast and so instinctive. You're like WHOA. How did you know that? And can't really get the words out like he doesn't even know it's almost like he's processing. What's happening physically in front of him and in the nanoseconds his body's already reacting he's already making decisions that he didn't even know he can make that quickly and he can't even talk about it. Sounds like what the heck is that? How did you know and I I mean it's just uncanny the way he does stuff like that. So mentally twitchy. That's I've never been around anybody like that. That's why I think he's special. I think you can explain Joe Pearl. You can explain Justin. Herbert Justin Herbert's a four points. Student Big strong kid family was athletes. Got a cannon for an arm really good offensive. Line College I think Joe Borough wasn't great until he got a great team around him. He's a good distributor of football when he has protection time and good receivers to a lot of stuff. I can't explain. It's not very big. Didn't have a great arm. Didn't have a huge arm. You not real not real big. He's actually people will tell you. It's not even that great of an athlete. But why was he the number one high school quarterback in the country he was undersized? Never rocket arm wasn't a super athlete. Don't you have to be great at one of those things like John? Elway you were like whole my God. What an arm. Trevor Lawrence size arm. What is it it's the unexplainable and that usually becomes great. I can explain Patrick. Mahomes played in the majors. Guys got ridiculous arm. He's he's all time armed talent. He also has great weapons and one of the great play designers. Ever I can explain the whole Patrick. Mahomes the explain Carson Wentz. Six five rocket arm throws from angles. Tough kid really athletic. I can explain it. I can explain Michael Jordan. I can explain Michael Jordan. Huge hands allowed him to palm it a relentless work ethic and competitive to the point of strange. I can I am by the way had a forty inch vertical big hand super-quick. He had big hands but not huge. Allow them to be quick and shifty. I can explain everything Magic Johnson. He was six nine and a half point. We're no six nine and a half points. He was just so much bigger than everybody and he had the button. He backed in and he had great court vision and he worked his game and he was still at the very end not a great shooter and not a great defender but I could explain. It also happens. He inherited Kareem that helped. But when we can't explain you and there's Mariano Rivera it's hard to explain a lot of guys who the cutter was. I mean Dennis Rodman. Lotta guys hustled. Lot of six seven and a half guys hustled. Well he was skilled not really couldn't shoot. I mean you know. I don't know how to explain it all right so Joel. Klatt top next hour by the way. A doctor Foulsham F. L. season. I think we're going to have an SEC season. I'm not going to predict any of these leagues. I will say today. I feel more positive about baseball and especially the NBA two or three weeks ago but takeaway on this whole thing is it's May. What is the Fourteenth Fifteenth Fourteenth? Okay so we're middle of May I'M NOT GONNA make any big predictions on September fifteenth. I don't really understand governor's doing that. Senators doing that talk show host doing that. I don't know what's going to happen. We've been locked down for a couple of months. We don't have a later issue or a mask issue. We don't appear to have in California testing issue so some things have been solved. Some haven't but I just don't know I've only made one prediction. There will be an SEC football season..

"Russell can win with battle lines. Matt Ryan is overwhelmed with battle lines. And I like Matt Ryan. I consider him a top ten quarterback and I love drew brees. I consider him a first ballot hall of Famer. You gotta be kidding me. You know what it tells me about this pro. Football focus should not be working from home. Pro Football unfocused is what I'm calling it this morning. I will give them next hour a chance to fight for their case. This is absurd. And I've said it before. Russell Wilson is the best football player in the world. Today is not the tallest the best arm I Q leadership playmaking Russell. Wilson literally does things. We can't explain eight years. What isn't even he ever get hit. The Jackson's faster gets hit Carson. Wentz bigger stronger gets hit. Mahomes last year gets hit. Russell Wilson does stuff. Nobody can explain. He never gets hit. He runs backwards here on sideways. He runs forward. He faces the niners twice a year. He faces Aaron Donald twice a year. He never gets hit. You can't even explain stuff. He does Russell. Wilson Thirty Third Fourth Seahawk Best Player of the decade. And You wonder I fight injustice. I am now Batman without the Butler. I am fighting this. 'cause I'm not letting it go. It's ridiculous and he's the only player on this list. I've seen so far. That in the last two days was rumored to be traded two years ago to the Cleveland Browns and his team wants to bring Cam Newton in as a backup. What it's incredible to me do this. All the time is that. If you don't look like everybody else looks like we don't know what to make of you. A kind of weird. Russell's he's not the prototypical this is Lamar Jackson. I'm guilty of it. I'm like he runs more than he passes. But I didn't consider great coach. Great Great Personnel Department. And and the League's changing the running thing works. Now you gotTa Kinda run so a pro football focus. Russell Wilson Gronk Miss Forty five games in the decade hobbled. His last three years is five. Calvin Johnson Evan. Mathis Patrick Willis. These are good players. I'm not I'm not denying it rustles below. All of never forget. Seattle was an I'm from. There was an irrelevant franchise known for cool uniforms. Baas GETTING RUN OVER GREAT FANS P. Carol had a losing record in Seattle if Russell Wilson isn't drafted Pete's not in the NFL not in Seattle. He was getting one more year. They were paying him too much. Pete's career double baggage at USC. Nfl already been fired twice two losing seasons if he didn't draft. Russell Wilson Has Matt Flynn. He has a third losing season. He's done. He's a legend K. That's just that's just where I'm starting today and a good mood. You know what you know. What are they say? Not all heroes where capes were sports shirt button down somewhere about now. Okay so Okay I got I got to topic. I can't I can't get enough of but you know everybody always talked. You ever heard about like a comic's comic. Oh He's a he's an actor's actor he's he's a writer's writer. Don't believe that stuff. If you're great America find you. The Beatles were great. They weren't even from here. We love the Beatles. Anabol- day where you know you don't get this music now if you're good we get when we like you you choose from Dublin. The Beatles from Liverpool huge in America. If you're a great comic Richie Ricky Surveys. You don't even have to be from here. It'd be crossed upon doesn't matter if you're great we find you. We elevate you pay we make you rich Jim Carey. Canada grew up poor. We found him got rich. Mike Myers Got Rick Ben Stiller. It doesn't matter. I think Ben Stiller's from here the point being is it doesn't matter Wayne Gretzky Canada Ricky Gervais over there. We find you. We pay you hit the lottery in America. So I don't WanNa hear about the garage band that I don't get or a comic's comic you know. He's a writer's writer. No no no no no the great writers in this country in this world always make it big in America. I don't buy that and there's a football player. I'm I'm being told. Oh He's something special. "First of all if Brady has a losing season. Nobody's going to think less of A. Nobody thinks Michael Jordan. Because of the wizards nobody if Russell Wilson has a losing season all these ridiculous people who think he's overrated are GonNa have Yup Yup chirp chirp. I think it. I think there will be some sense that he's overrated. Brady loses like the divisions great New Orleans got better players if he goes seven and nine. We're not selling the farm on that. It's like yeah there you go there you go down in Miami would be amazing. What WOULD BE ODELL IN MIAMI? Yes there are actually. They're actually pretty good at wide receiver. Yeah the dolphins their defense will be better anytime you have a coach and his specialty genesis. You notice what he did. Brian Flora's went out. He's going to draft the side of the ball. He's not an expert in but he got veterans under the side of the ball. He is well aware of so. Brian's going to enhance all Brian floors and the dolphins all they said this off season. If we lose. We're going to lose close because we're not gonNA give up points we're GONNA make an. I think that's really smart. What they're basically saying is when to starts were not asking him to in shootouts. When it comes in and plays we give up twenty two points a game if he loses or not asking him to throw forty times you know. That's what Andrew lucked dealt with Gato in. Shoot after you can't win. What does that mean? Thirty six pass attempts you get your ribs blistered so if two can come in and the defense is good we create a running game. We upgrade the offense. We don't ask to throw thirty four times so I I think the dolphins actually we said this last year does the best tanking team of all time whether establishing a culture and it was really didn't feel like they were taking no once. The season started at the beginning of this. They're going to be the worst team in the league. And then of course we knew that Cincinnati did a better job at that. But I told you I thought Brian Flores was the rare. Losing record deserved coach of the year consideration. If you consider what they did he looks like the first Belch Guy by the way I don't understand. Why ballot checks assistance? Don't copy them like Flora's went out and copied him culture. Not GonNa pay a fortune for my quarterback I will pay for defense at corner and and linebackers crucial so gets Byron Jones. I'll pay for that and we need a really good secret sauce. Linebacker van Noy High. Iq To run the defense and accumulate draft picks. It was just like ballot check. Does all right good stuff..

"I could really use. Powder running every day in the sun in California you can run on the trails and run. Your beach can't be on the beach, so I'm running every day. I got a little bit of a Tan and there's no makeup people here. So this is what I look like. We messy guys. We're GONNA. Offer couple of weeks all right, so we we play game occasionally call, would you rather you give me two tough choices and I have to make a choice on this best for less you ready to go joy. Let's do it. All, right, would you rather bill? Belichick makes a super bowl or Tom. Brady makes a super bowl. I Would Tom. Brady makes the Super Bowl first of all. It's so insulting to insinuate. That Brady one because system, we all acknowledge mean Bella checks. We acknowledge he's the best football coach ever. But there are people that during his run, said Aaron Rodgers was better than Tom Brady Tom Brady with assistant guys, so if Tom Brady winds, a super bowl will acknowledge ballot check still great. Nobody denies it. Best coach ever, and then we'll say okay. It wasn't a system, so it's a win for Tom, not necessarily over Bella check, but a validation of Tom's greatness, which shouldn't be argued, it's so much more interesting if Tom makes the Superman. He's a more fun person well. And everything else you said so. The bengals make the playoffs or the browns make the playoffs, would you rather I'm seen as anti both I'd rather. The browns make the playoffs number one. I picked him. I'd rather be right than wrong, although it's not the end of the day, but I would say this if the browns make the playoffs. It's because they have a bunch of good players. If the bengals make the playoffs, it's price. Lamar Jackson got her big Ben came back got hurt. They don't have a good enough roster to win it so if they want it, there have to be some weird circumstances that Cincinnati won the division like multiple injuries to star players another teams, and that's not good for the sport. So to starts week. One are just justin. Herbert starts link, MOM, would you rather? To Starts Week. One first of all I think he has an IT quality. He's already selling more home jerseys than any NFL player, and frankly the Miami Dolphins have a rich history. I missed the dolphins being good, so do I. There's a glamour to the dolphins. The chargers don't have even in Los Angeles Miami's a Glamour Franchise. It's almost like Miami Hurricane Football. It's nothing against Clemson, but if you told me Alabama was great, and there could be one other program that's great out east I would say Miami Hurricanes because there's glamour to them, I think to has got some glamour. The dolphins have some glamour so he can start early and they finished. They won five of their last nine, and we know their defense will be good because they spent money on it and their coach is excellent at it so to oh. Would you have to be great to be a hit? The Eagles when the NFC east or any other teams in the NFC would, you rather eagles win the NFC. Mostly because I picked them, and I also think in Sports, excellence should be rewarded I think their owners excellent. Their GM's excellent their coach. I never thought Doug Peterson would be this. Good this fast and Carson. Wentz is terrific so what it would be telling you is. If you've got the all the mechanisms at the top of the franchise, have their act together. It worked. If Washington wins. It's telling you can have a goofy owner and win. You don't have to be great at quarterback and went I like a sport that rewards greatness, and Philadelphia's got be plus two a+ people at the top. Would you rather the packers finish twelve and four or the packers finished for twelve. Oh. That's an easy one. Packers finish twelve and four. They're on Fox. I mean let's let's be honest about this I I root for my company to succeed if Green Bay's Great. There there any time I can take a small market on a network I worked for because I know, the big markets can get ratings, but when Green Bay is good. It's great for Fox. We can put him on Prime Times they drive our four o'clock window. They have a star quarterback. They have rich history. There's no people get confused. There's no value for joy and I. Watching Star quarterbacks get hurt or stink. We I want jober Tara. There's no value in regular quarterback sitting. Bull Yeah. It's not good for anybody. So would you rather the raiders finished eleven and five, or the raiders finished five and eleven raiders, finishing eleven and five day would do. I would say raiders, finishing eleven and five because of this first of all I. Love Vegas Right and we and we'd probably talk more about Vegas. I'd probably go. But the other thing it would mean, and this is really important. The raiders are right now kind of a bottom seven or eight franchise. That can't quite get it right. It would mean wow. One of the bottom franchises is now back near the top of the League and leagues are as good as their bottom. The NFL when you got seven or eight drag shows going on. It just drags down a league because one. They're always playing good teams. So if the raiders suddenly popped became an elite franchise. You're like okay. The bottom now is Jacksonville and Cincinnati. We'd have no bottom in the league and I think that's great for the NFL. Would you add the browns? Keep Odell or the browns trade Todo Trade Odell first of all. Cleveland's got a million weapons. The whole ob bj Baker thing doesn't work. He was twenty third among wide receivers in receiving yards last year and tied for forty second in receiving touchdowns. It's not working I. Don't think it helps Baker Mayfield and again. The NFL's better Baker is winning it. Baker goes foreign twelve again. The stories over it didn't work. He's Johnny Manziel. It done. Nobody cares so, and I think Oh del would be spectacular in a couple of big market cities. I think he's A. There are certain athletes shack was one shack was way better in La than Orlando Phoenix. Shack Shack is big. Shack needs to play a big space joe. Nemeth wouldn't have been interesting in Jacksonville. Joe Namath and New York was fascinating. You know what I mean Brett. Farve was great when he played for an iconic packer franchise. The jets thing felt wrong. Second Franchise in New York. L. To me forty niners by the Miami Dolphins would to. Pittsburgh steelers. It just feels bigger for the league. Would you rather Tom Brady has his first losing season or Russell Wilson has its first losing season Tom Brady. First of all. If Brady has a losing season, nobody's going to think less of a nobody thinks Michael Jordan because of the wizards nobody. If Russell Wilson has losing season all these ridiculous people who think he's overrated are GonNa have? Up Yup CHIRP CHIRP. I think I think there will be some sense that he's overrated. Brady loses like the divisions great New Orleans got better players. If he goes seven and nine. We're not selling the farm on that. It's like. Yeah. There you go. There you go. Down in Miami would be amazing. WHAT WOULD BE ODELL IN MIAMI? Yes, there are actually they're actually pretty good at wide receiver. Yeah, the dolphins. Their defense will be better anytime. You have a coach and his specialty genesis. You notice what he did. Brian Flora's went out. He's going to draft the side of the ball. He's not an expert in, but he got veterans under the side of the ball. He is well aware of so Brian's going to enhance all Brian floors and the dolphins all. They said this off season. "Flown bides day. It feels a little different being outside of your living room. Well you've been in the even in the studio at least the radio studio tiny small jammed up. Yeah I'm in front of my bookcase at home. Been different so we are back in the studio. The levels of disinfectant and sanitation have been remarkable. Here I thought today they were taking a picture of me. They were actually taking my temperature. I did not know that the equipment we have here is stunning. That is an impressive setup. I walked in and I said here's a picture and I'm like smile high. And they're like temperature's ninety eight point six and I'm like how do you from twelve feet take my? I don't know what Tech Down here. I have a new. We HAVE NEW TEMPERATURE GAUGE. My wife bought at the store like target. And you put it on your forehead. Boom one second temperature. Yeah it's incredible you just one second on my forehead. I don't even understand more comfortable than the old thing down your throat bagging and I. It's it's incredible. You know we Scott. Boris is going to be coming up in a couple of minutes. No the Jordan documentary the star of. It's obviously Michael Jordan. I think the CO stars are his parents. If you look at WHO? We consider great leaders. Sports does not have a shortage of talent. It's got a shortage of leaders. We consider ballot. Check a great leader Phil Jackson's been incredible leader Tom Brady Peyton. Manning Derek Jeeter. Mj or they all have in common great parents through no fault of your own. Sometimes there's a void there. You don't have the data on your little bit more than makes you comfortable. You don't have the mom supporting you. Michael Jordan had great parents. I asked David Falk longtime agent about some gambling issues if he worried about Michael the gambling and he started talking about. His parents are concerned about the impact on his image. Because he's squeaky clean as you then from good parents. His parents are amazing people. And if you WANNA know in the dock where he got that incredible competitor fire just looks at the Lorsch James. They constantly urged him to continue to get better. Not as a player as a human being to constantly prove it really amazing people. The need for constant public affection and adoration on twitter and social media is actually a cry for help. You don't have a good base. The two best leaders in my opinion right now in American sports guys that aren't affected by outside voices often laugh and roll their is at criticism. Steph curry and Russell Wilson. There's two rumors today on Russell. Wilson Cam Newton is going to be your backup. You were almost traded to Cleveland. He's got no response. He never does because he's secure and himself because he's go. He knows he has great support. Home similarly with Steph Curry. How many players are confident enough in themselves to recruit Kevin Durant knowing? You're the second best player on your team. You're going to get less shots. And if you do entitles you won't get the glare. You won't get the love. That's an incredibly stable. Secure Human Being. And that is Steph curry and that is Russel Wilson and that is Derek. Jeter come on over a rod come on over when I see people on the the Internet that need constant affection and attention on social media generally tells me they're missing something with MJ issues. But if you look at his life and you look at his career. He always overcame the hurdles because he always had this incredibly strong at home. And I'm not blaming athletes. Sometimes it has nothing to do with you. It has to do with the environment you're raised in but I don't think it's a coincidence. When you look at Phil Jackson and Nick Sabin and ballot check and Jeeter an MJ and magic and manning and Brady the the not just talented like great all-time leaders great support at home. It matters and by the way I asked. Russell Wilson About A month ago it was on the show I I asked him about the support he at home. My grandfather was the president state for twenty two years. You know and and it elite a lot of people you know. And then my dad you know went to Dartmouth graduated from there I went to. Uva Law School. You know president class and stuff. But I think more than anything you know what my parents taught me. He's gave me an imagination. They really let me believing. And and write up my visions and talk to me and set goals and right out goals and and have a plan you know. I think a lot of times a lot of people out of kids then especially this generation. We don't have a strategy. We don't have a plan you know and we don't we don't have this vision and and then we lose it because we don't have a plan. We don't understand the work ethic parked behind the plan. Yeah I mean that's really amazing. The support he has I. I knew his grandfather being a president of a university but Dad Dartmouth Graduate School. Uva One of the great law schools in America. So I think that's what jumped out to me with the LAST DANCE. Michael's obviously great Editor thing that jumps out to me and I've tried to use this with my kids is think about how great Michael Jordan is the. Look the Polish. The game the refinement. The smarts Logan all the obstacles he had to face. It's incredible how many obstacles Michael Jordan had face in. The last dance isn't just about a basketball player. It's about the value of relentlessness toughness wilfulness. That's Jordan blows me away 'cause because if life's tough for Michael Jordan and Michael Jordan had doubters who doesn't I mean it's incredible. He wanted to wear a dita shoes. Adidas WASN'T INTERESTED. He preferred converse. They weren't interested. He didn't WanNa go to Nike by the way he didn't want to go to. Nike. He wasn't going to go to Nike. Worry now makes more still today. Double triple quadruple. What Lebron does who is the person in his life that told him to go to Nike his mom. No Mom no dad. He doesn't go to Nike and he's not the richest athlete in our lives. In America. He leaned on mom bombs their MOMS wisdom mom strength on support. So you know we always talk about. Sports has a bunch of players and a bunch of athletes in their amazing. But the two guys that kind of blow me away and Lebron's terrific but I'm always blown away by Steph. Curry was blown away by Russell Wilson. Because one thing that gets athletes really chapped really upset is a lack of respect. The gets a ton of respect. I mean we argue whether he's the first or second best player ever have respect. You know he gets a lot of money. Staff we argue. He's not really the best player in his own team. They'll win these championships without Kevin Durant and yet he just he smiles and laughs off. That is somebody who secured himself Russell Wilson this week. The two rumors seahawks didn't want him won't even comment on. It probably won't even comment on it really impressive. It's good to have you today so Scott. Boris is going to join us in our next segment On the baseball situation what I'm interested in the NFL the optics on the NFL have been this. Find a state. The lettuce plan will play the optics with the NBA is as long as we're safe will play. I thought the optics yesterday and the day before we're baseball with you know we'd play but we want more money fair or not. That's how it landed to me. And Lots of other people and Scott. Boras is responsible for over a billion dollars of contracts once again the most powerful man in baseball not named the Commissioner. He will be joining us next. One more. Heard the herd streams twenty four hours a day seven days a week within the iheartradio APP. Search her to listen live or on demand. Whenever you like well. It's good to have you in. Listen I've been saying this in terms of the pandemic. There's very little I know outside of. I think we need lots. And lots of testing. I think social distancing matters It's become a political football here going back and forth. That's the reality of everything in our country. It used to be with whether you could say it's nice out now if I say it's nice out. I'm liberal because I believe in global warming It's a it's a ridiculous at times country we live in and so I do think sports is really Kind of a visceral level platform where all of us. We feel better about our towns in ourselves in our communities and I think sometimes people try to marginalize sports and I think this is illustrating just how important sports are whether it's high school football in a small town college basketball in Lawrence Kansas or Major League Baseball in New York Los Angeles or Baltimore Matters. I think it always has connectivity and with that we bring on a sport we're crossing our fingers return. Scott Boras the founder owner president of the Boers Corporation responsible for over a billion dollars in baseball contracts. So Scott let's start with this. We have a economic reality of a fifteen percent unemployment staring in the face and while we want baseball back it did feel to me. Just my opinion. A little unseemly talking about billionaires millionaires in revenue. Sharing are you at all concerned that that stuff goes public and the optics aren't great on that discussion publicly. Now We're good afternoon Colin. I hope you and your family and your staffer or well no the players really and Tony Clark and the Major League Baseball Players Association the kind of rolled up their sleeves and March because we WANNA do void. This very issue and the major league baseball approached the The Union and the players certainly with the strong support of the players. I represent They reached an accord. They reached an agreement as to how they would handle. The you know the twenty twenty season and That was a major compromise because players took really really agreed to a thirty to fifty percent salary. Cut by doing so but really in in light of the public health issue and creating harmony to go forward That that agreement reached in late March. And it's something that You know were as Tony Clark stated and certainly with the support of the players. I represent that that agreement is operatives and what we will work off of in going forward in the twenty twenty season but the owners now are pushing back on that and explain to my audience. What what the owners want now because initially agreed to that knowing there's not going to be any fans the owner said we get it. They accepted your initial proposal. Your clients did but now the owners are pushing back. Explain where they're pushing back that you're not comfortable with well. In the agreement there are dynamics that allow for considerations in good faith discussion between the Union and the players and the owners about They anticipated playing without fans. They anticipated playing a neutral sites. All these things were the same condition matter of fact the pandemic may have been worse considerations because of the unknowns.

"Sleepnumber dot. com by the way I'm not cool, not stylish, but everybody bang on the LA. Rams new uniforms I think you're not I think that one of the I think there are some of the best uniform. The league I don't understand this loyalty to an old uniform rams new ram should have a new uniform. It's a new group to new city in the last few years, shouldn't. Yeah I. Like the new uniforms I came out today I. Don't Love The logo. That was what everyone was freaking out. About was the new logo, but I like these uniforms. There's some bad logos in the NFL Jacksonville Logos. Not Great tightened his boring. There's a lot of boring logos. Texans doesn't do a thing for me. I feel like the more simple the logo, the more effective right I think I think the I think the I don't know I look at the l, a rams logo and I'm like all of it looks good to me. It looks fresh, it's. It's very hops. It pops a by the way I kind of somebody said on twitter I got up in my fields today because Russell Wilson was disrespected, but it is interesting cams a perfect fit in Pittsburgh, but the steelers owners would never do that because they support cam even when he's just overly dramatic, doesn't work hard in the off season, and frankly is hot and cold is a quarterback and doesn't always work well with young players. Russell's check check check check check workaholic, great guy team player never distracted. Never dramatic doesn't let any of this stuff bothering but. It's funny Russell. Wilson has never received a single MVP now. Warren sharp is our friend. He's deep diver on the NFL and football. literally Bobby Wagner. A linebacker for the SEAHAWKS has received an MVP vote. A linebacker. Derrick cars got six. Tony Romo multiple DeMarco Murray running back, Scott to Russell Wilson's the greatest player that's ever played in the NFL. That doesn't have a single MVP. Vote this long into his career. Since. He entered the league. Listen carefully. Let's play blind resume. Since Russell Wilson entered the league that year until today blind resume. Russell's regular season record on the left his completion percentage, passing touchdowns, passer, rating and postseason record. Okay WHO's the guy in the other side? That's interesting. The guy on the other side will unveil it. Here's Aaron Rodgers Oh by the way. Russell is healthier. Never missed a start younger more mobile. Wins and losses more successful Russell's also a better road, quarterback and a playoff quarterback. And Russell's never been rumored to have a head coach fired. I, don't get it. I, don't get it. We would be outraged. We were outraged, right? When Green Bay simply drafted a young project at quarterback nobody today. Would be upset with the CAM. Newton rumors and Seattle John Schneider and Pete, Carroll should just put an end to it today with the press conference. Look at the Brian Blind resume. He's younger than Aaron. "Satellite Network. Sponsored by Mercedes Benz the best or nothing has not been out of his house. For two and a half months, he doesn't WANNA. Hear my pity nonsense. Hits colleges stroll strolling. You Know Beautiful Manhattan Beach, now, back in the studio. I'm in the heart of our Lem in New, York, city just boarding up windows, but I'm happy for your column by the way Nice and Dan. The I've been outside so any who all right. Let's start with this, so my former employer employer put up a top ten all time players and we can argue about it, but do you believe that because of the documentary? Lebron's to and Michael's one and that there is some. recency bias with that and a lot of these lists now that are ending up on the Internet. It's a lot of MJ one Lebron to and not much of a discussion or debate by most you'd think that the documentary to some degree is shaping that a reshaping it. So I do agree, but maybe not the way you're thinking it, but a couple of things first of all credit to your former employer, I think they did a very good job with their top ten. They've got. Their top nine. They have right slightly out of order. Six seven dunk in eight should be Kobe. Nine should be bird. West in Oscar should be ten and eleven. Shack should be thirteen and obviously they have. Michael and Lebron flipped. Shack is thirteenth tent. They're very very close to exactly right and by exactly right I mean my list, which is of course, the official default list everyone perjury. Dan To your question Colin. Here's what I've noticed with the Michael Documentary. We've got a lot of the most adamant about Jordan. Thinking a lot about Lebron during this duck. I hear a lot of Lebron's on the talk about it I. I'm trying not to bring up Lebron during the dock and we have a lot of Jordan folks, then either goal, my radio show or do television shows that seem to be shoehorning a discussion about a player who entered the league five years after the dock was finished in this discussion, so I think there's a word for that I think it's insecurity and anxiousness about the fact that Lebron if he has not already passed. Passed Jordan as he has that he will in short order, but yeah for the moment he might get a nostalgia bump, but those bumps fade. is we see with political politicians at times? Get a temporary bump from a crisis, and then it fades as things go on, so yeah I. I see that somewhat but I'm not I'm not too concerned by. Let me shift a shack talking about bail on the season. Because of an Asterisk to that I say life is going to be but asterisks for twelve to eighteen months sports has. Of Inequities Financial Geographic, it's just the reality of sports, and we don't use an asterisk and by the way. Is is the world of sports better with the NBA playing now I'm yes, and I think you just can't be too rigid regardless of what League or Sport or commissioner you are. What did you make of Shaq's comments? And the encouraging sign this week that Adam silver and the players appear to be willing to play a centralized site. Listen I ain't. It would be fantastic for all parties involved. If the NBA can resume I think it's so much easier for professional sports to resume than collegiate sports for obvious reasons, and I do think the NBA GonNa find a way to get this season in listen if we end up with an NBA finals of Grizzlies Heat. We're going to say okay. This was pandemic influence the NBA The one sport were basically every single year. The champion is either the one the two or three seed, and if we end up with some bizarre finals, then we'll say. Say Okay. Maybe maybe we'll remember it a little bit differently, but I don't think that's going to happen. First of all and second of all I have found the discussion surrounding. If this postseason happens, will it count fully very interesting because what you are seeing and I apologize for bringing up Lebron again, but what you are seeing is the folks out there who have staked their claim on the Bron- being overrated or his era is over or the reason he's not in the goat discussions rings were. Failures in the finals. They don't know which side to stake out on. Do I say there's an asterisk and this year doesn't count, but then if Lebron loses I can't use it against him, but if I say the your does count on your wins. He gets credit for it. I'm in this glass blocks of emotion, and so you have folks that want to be able to reverse engineer. Their opinion on this in regards to Lebron I will stake my claim immediately. Year counts. Everyone's got to deal with the same circumstances. It's not ideal, but as you mentioned nothing's ideal for anyone right now. The champion this year is the champion. The team that I happen to believe benefits from this. The most of anyone benefits from it is the clippers because health and rest was of all the contenders was the they had the biggest. Biggest question mark on, but I still think pre pandemic Lakers bucks was going to be the finals preseason. Pick midseason pick and it's my right now. Pick Lakers, buck should be the finals. No asterisk needed. Cam Newton is never been my favorite, but I do think he fits in Pittsburgh. Really well for a quarterback that needs to be pushed is often hurt. With a super bowl roster, but bad backup quarterbacks where I don't think he fits or is needed, is Seattle, and we have two stories now. In the last two days Seattle thought of Trading Russell Wilson the browns outrageous, and let's bring in Cam because you know. Russell await he is a workaholic who never gets hurt and is all about team. I said this morning as I was preparing for this. It rarely do I get angry with a story..

"A steph curry is not as great a basketball player as Lebron James, but he has. Influence, more influence than Lebron James, every high school basketball. Aau Basketball College basketball game. It's three pointers now that steph curry people. I'm not saying people forget this, but the three point shot was around for twenty years. It was around for twenty years. It was considered a ban shot. Forever and then Steph came, and now if you. If you don't have four guys on the floor, they can shoot it. It's a huge liability. You can have one guy that doesn't shoot at three power forward or a center outside of that they want Anthony Davis and Lakers now to shoot threes, so the influence Steph has had his greater than Lebron Lebron. Just a better player you know, maybe Patrick Mahomes will be better all time than Russell Wilson Brady all that stuff, but Russell Wilson's influence is undeniable. Tom Brady's not getting guys drafted Russell. Wilson got drafted. He got Johnny Manziel drafted. He got cuyler Murray drafted. Frankly he got Baker. Mayfield drafted all these short guys. Nobody used to want to draft anybody under six three as a quarterback. And Jalen, hurts got drafted this weekend in Philadelphia's GM Howie. Roseman say he goes well. We missed on Russell Wilson in two twelve and twenty twelve in that, too, we wanted. We had a plan envisioned. It started with Russell Wilson and he got picked by Seattle right before us. So we went with Nick foles. and. There would be no Carson Wentz and Philadelphia if that had happened in the eagles by guest would have a super bowl or two more than they had so Russell Wilson now gets. Jalen hurts drafted because how he rolls like we missed, Russell were not doing it again and I see a lot of Russell. Wilson was interesting about this is when you have. Generally speaking the copycats Miss Michael Jordan had this Michael Jordan was a ball dominant guard. It used to be. Your guide was a passer. Your guards didn't take up too much space. It was a big guys league. It was a centers league and then Michael Jordan came in and you're like. Oh! You don't need centers. That Bill Wennington will perdue Luc Longley. Center League. You can just have a ball dominant guarded as all the scoring, and so everybody started falling for. Let's get Iverson. Let's get Marbury and let's get St Francis and let's get Damon Stoudamire anything getting titles. They're all good players but people. It wasn't until Kobe came along, and even Kobe needed, bigs but Kobe. Shared the most traits with Michael Relentless Super Super Basketball and human being smart. aspirational coach -able enough. And finally Kobe was about eighty five percent or eighty percent Michael. You finally found of all the all the people that looked in Kinda played like him. It was like Oh. One finally works, but he needed a center shack Cassani needed a great brand. The Lakers Russell. Wilson's got a lot of guys out there. jalen hurts and Baker Mayfield and to and Johnny. Manziel I think one of them eventually. We're going to find a copycat that's going to be about eighty five percent of Russell I think cuyler Murray to me is interesting like Russell. Baseball player like Russell not. Not Get hit like Russell throws a beautiful football Kylie Marie. Those are beautiful football I. But I do think there are things that Michael Jordan brought to the table that other guys just didn't have and I think their stuff. Russell Wilson brings to the table. His family was like college presidents and went to Dartmouth. I mean like by any standard of brainpower for a pro athlete like Russell. Russell also had a chip on his shoulder as college coach. North state said hit the road. We like Mike Glennon He also is maybe the most emotionally mature person I've ever met. At twenty two years old when I first met Russell Wilson so I. There are some things with Russell that are so unbelievable that you'll never be able to duplicate. You can duplicate his size. cuyler certainly Kinda plays like him but I think Russell and Michael are just so other worldly that you could get a duplication Kobe was a duplication, but just the relentlessly relent. Relent looseness of Michael will never be duplicated. Roy Williams said this week I've never met a player that practiced harder work harder played harder cared more, and it just nothing else like that with Michael Same with Russell Wilson. Between the Dartmouth Dad the chip on the shoulder, he used to run as a kid through malls, weaving in and out of people, childhood was unique, and then he let's be honest about it. Whereas Michael Got Phil Jackson Russell. Got Pete Carroll that helps to helps to get a hall of fame coach that helps to join the news. Turn on the news. This is the third line news. Well. You've been very nice. Cleveland's as of recent. No kidding, yeah! Struck a lot in his second NFL season, and you were, you were on top of that, but Brown's GM Andrew. Berry is confident. The Baker can put last season behind him and get back on track in two thousand twenty. Assure you, there's nobody more focused determined. To put last year behind him and take us up four than him. We are excited about know the environment that we created around that position in our around that room. In general we we really do expect to have a fantastic year I know Kevin and the staff of the done a really nice job with the virtual offseason so far implementing the new system and we think that he'll be able to thrive. He better because they have tons of talent like I was thinking last night. I think I'd pick Cleveland for Second Division Behind Baltimore, because I have no idea what we're getting from Big Ben I don't. I've told you before big. Ben's never been a grinder off-season grinder. I have no idea I think as you get older, you heal more slowly and I don't think he's taken the greatest care of his body all the time, so I I think Cleveland's loaded I. Think they're absolute and I do think bigger is gonNA. Play better this year. Well. He took a significant step back from his rookie season, which he was was really good and impressive in last year, but But last year was not a great situation for Baker and I going to look at this year. I, I'm willing to give bigger actually two more years because considering the circumstances this year, and he has another new coach and new system a new situation to get accustomed to everything. I'm not saying that he shouldn't be significantly better than he was last year last year was a disaster. None of us knew what was happening in Cleveland last year I. It was. It was. It was unexplainable was happening in Cleveland last year. If it was another team other than Cleveland's, but they are in a good situation this year, but everyone is kind of behind the curve, so I'm going to give him another year because of that, but you're right. He does have so much talent around him. It's it's absurd. They are so offensively. Only the chiefs have that many good players. That's it. How they're going to play as a team, I don't know, but he and his numbers should take a up this year regardless because of what he has around. So Jameis. Winston is officially saints. He signed a one year one point one million dollar deal with Max value of four point seven million incentives, and he said he can't wait to learn everything you can from his new team. Saints Drew brees. Sean? Close Joel Lombardi coach Pete Carmen Brasilia. Were you think about that room was like a Harvard Education in quarterback school so want to put my ego aside put the mining side and think of my family think about my career. It was no better position to be in the same room with someone that I really looked up to someone that I admire. Since I've been playing this game and drew brees. I love the attitude. Love it I do too. I'm not expecting to see a lot of Jameson this year. We know that what kind of role tastes and Hill plays, and this offense and drew. brees is obviously this is going to be his team as long as he's healthy, but I do think James has a lot of football left in him, and where I thought that he would take a step up with Bruce Arians or at. At least see something different with him and Bruce Arians he was still in the same environment, so maybe being in a different environment will change how James.

"They all got hurt. Breese doesn't get hurt. Russell Wilson junior. Third. Doesn't get hurt head Mr. game. Baker didn't get hurt. He small. So is the you'd want to draft a quarterback to stay healthy. Is that the key? Now. I don't I just I think we get that. Perception that oh, if you're small you're more susceptible to getting hurt, and that's not necessarily the case here. I think when you are shorter or smaller you understand. I think when you're bigger you feel like you're a little more invincible because Andrew look how many times do we see Andrew luck. Throw an interception and then run down to try to make the tackle. And like, what are you doing? Don't Cam Newton. I've seen him pancake is of blocks Rothlisberger gets hurt an awful lot. I think when you're shorter smaller. You end up understanding how to take care of yourself. I mean, how is it that drew Brees? He got hurt when he was in San Diego when he got his shoulder separated. But after that, I mean Brees is been pretty healthy. I think as he missed a game. And I don't think Russ has missed a game in his career in Seattle. He's been injured. But he hasn't missed a game. Also, I was looking at another stat here. I you can check this, mclovin. The first seven years of career. I think there's only two quarterbacks who have thrown more touchdown passes than Russell Wilson. I think Peyton Manning is is one of those. And I'm not sure who the other one is is Dan Marino. So this is the first seven years in the NFL. Most touchdown passes. And I think that it's river I've not rivers. It's Russell Wilson is third on that list. Have you seen that stunt? Oh, yeah. Yeah. So you have exactly right. Dan marino. One Peyton Manning to Russell Wilson. Three Brett Farr for Matt Ryan five most pass teas and for seven seasons and NFL and that watt surprise you. That it's Marino with two hundred twenty then it's Peyton Manning. Then it's Russell Wilson Brett farve. And Matt Ryan you just wouldn't put Russ in their be day one with defense. Right. Isn't that the narrative with those Seahawk seems as a passing quarterback? But I still I think you could made a strong case a year ago. He was his valuable to his team in Seattle as anybody was to their team anybody because it just felt like when they needed something, you know, he was there, and he had great numbers Yarmuk eleven. So we'll he ended up on that top ten list. We talked about his Scott long way to go. I don't know where that team is going though seem to be kinda rebuilding if he had to if they had one that other Super Bowl. Then Russell Wilson. He's he's a hall of Famer. There's no doubt. He's all Famer. Right. He could certainly be anyway. Yeah. But I don't know, you know, Seattle was better than we thought they were going to be. I just don't know how good they're going to continue to be how long has peaked Carol going to continue to coach that defense. Not as formidable will they become a little bit more of an offensive minded team. They became a running team this year. Yeah..
