But I don't know if we ever talked about it. But I just found out his wife still coaches at a college in Michigan Lawrence tack. How is that possible? I don't that's what I don't know. I have no idea was raising those kids. Yeah. I don't know, man. She was up at five in the morning watching new Japan. Well, I mean where else would they? Oh, God damn only Mustafa Ali was able to graduate. How good is. He he's excellent. That's probably why he graduated. Yeah. They were like that fucking vignette. They did of him. I think there's got to be a lot of, you know, scrambling a little bit with guys who could obviously benefit other places and them coming day end or they're in a they're in a shit. Yeah. Revival wants out. Let me let me go back real quick though. And just say that I hope that Titus rides. One of those chairs like something like old people ride up the stairs. You've just rise. "I guess is a nice way to say, it weren't so receptive to it. Like, one example is I saw something on the news about a young man that got pulled over and got into an altercation with an officer and in the dying because officer shot him for whatever reason. I don't know how I don't know how the the. Education Ascoli that quickly. But the end of the day that the young man died over a traffic word, I knew traffic work. You miss a court date and had a warrant. So at the end of the day this kid dies because he he he was speeding one day and didn't go to a court date. That's why he died sounds like man route. So messed up, and I'm trying to always, you know, like, my my mind says, I always try to understand how people think like why do they at the end of the day? Like man, I would be scared to if someone pulled me over and they go, hey, you have a warrant you're going to jail, and I'm going to tow your car and to the cost of thousand like people having Zayed's people don't trust. Like, I always trying to think this way. I was like man like how do we de escalate the situation over something? So silly as a traffic one, and we had this huge database police departments have the database where they can look up your name, and they can find your address and your phone number your relatives and all this stuff. And I was like man like everyone doesn't have the privilege or you know, the the insight. To like, always, you know, make it to court like sometimes they just missed your court date because they had to suddenly move or something happens, or or whatever I said one of the way to like reach out to people in remind him like, hey, you missed your court date Jim war now. And then the other later, I was like man like I'm looking at those warrantless, it's all young people. It's all young males and females like nineteen twenty and twenty four like, and I'm looking to address them, and they still live at home as I'm just gonna call their mom 'cause if mom finds out, you know, a call mama go. Hey, MRs so and so I'm I'm officer along with the police department. I want to know your son has has a warrant for the rat. Right. And she freaked out. She goes, what do you mean in? I'm the bad guy. But she's like, what do you mean? He has one. But I go, hey, and this is how you turn the table in the sense. Like, you know, you d like the situation I go, ma'am. I don't want him getting pulled over on the street and having you know, have him freak out about it. I'd rather you. Bring him to the police station. So we can this process, and and give them a new court date. And that way, you know, you know, your son faith, and we'll get you bring him the police station that I promise you. I'll walk them. Right back out to you. So now mom goes like, I'm not going to have my child show up on the news. I'm going to bring him to the police station deal with this and we're gonna go back home. You know? So like, it's is this the way of like thinking outside the box like, okay, I know. Traditionally police officers supposed to go out there and find these guys like just call them. Hey, did you know you have a warrant?.

"So he was one in for like aggravated felony. Battery so he was going to jail jail. Like, so he would you know to him. This was worth it. And you know, that's just like one instance of like, you know, how do I defuse the situation? What could I possibly done other than like, you know? This guy's got a ninety is ready to take a shot at obviously. So yeah. And I was like money like, you know, within my first year wants the job. So obviously, you know, like, I'm Morgan as midnight shift, and that was the beginning of the shift, and I'm like sitting there. I was like is this how it's gonna be every night. You know? But yeah, man that was that was that was a scary one. Did the police department know that you were wrestling still as well on the weekends? And. Yeah, when they found out, they weren't too happy. So obviously Iressa wrestling, and the police were the car in kind of identical sense of like, you know, the young rookie comes in and all the vets give them a hard time. They kinda rhythm and test them on their you. Gotta earn your keep clean up the place afterwards. Yeah. It's insane. Same deal over here. Yeah. So you know, when I came in, you know. The rookies boys. Want to go out afterwards? I buy the drinks or like, you know, clean up the locker room on the stuff. So I was show up to roll call. You know, the four you started your shift, you all sit around table of roll-call. The sergeant tells you what needs to get done, and you know, who's doing a bad job who's been a good job. And you go about your deal. So I would show up to roll call. And I always show up like if I had to be there eleven our show up at like ten fifty nine with like seventeen seconds left and a runny and sit down, and my started looks at the, and you know, you're supposed to be presentable clean. You know? He's like why? Are you sweating? Gosh. Sorry, sorry. Why do you show, but like new scratches on your faces on your face? And like what do you have like why are your knuckles? All. And I was like so I told those guys that I'm learning how to box man, you must be like a really bad boxer. 'cause like every week you're showing up with like, a new, you know, you got a little give here a little thing. You know? And I and the thing was I was doing indie shows, you know, try to be like the. First or second match. I do the match jumping my car drive. The forty five minutes. Police department put myself on run-up roll-call till you know, it shows are around eight o'clock some thirties. So I have to make it, you know, in that timespan. So, you know, it's shower man, I blew had to throw my stuff on and go to work. Eventually what happens the way classic happen. Right. And a dispatcher was watching it, and they go, wait a minute. I I know that guy so she can't picture for TV and sends it to my SARS it so the next day role caused show it'd be like you care to explain this. And I was like, oh, no is out. So I mean, they went through thrilled about it. Because the issue was like if I got hurt doing that it affect my job. Obviously, you know. So you're there's a bunch of red tape about. And eventually they asked me like, hey, like, you know, you know, is a secondary employment. I became a whole deal. But eventually, you know, they they couldn't tell me not to do it because this is outside that, but I understand that considering. Like, hey, get hurt doing that. Like, it's gonna affect your job, obviously. So so all they want were you police officer until you basically had signed by the deputy. Yeah. Yeah. And unfortunately, the way I left it was the only job that I quit, you know, without giving on knows. And the reason wasn't because like, oh, I'm quitting. I'm going to w CLA. The reason I quit is because this mentality that I had about the good police officer, and, you know, shooting people respect, my, you know, a lot of the police officers gave me props it. But like the higher higher ups that are like old school kind of like, you know, stuck in their ways..

"I'm still calling him, sir. I'm asking if he needs medical attention we process, and we book him, and you know, right before he's getting transfer. And he's like, hey, man. I owe you an apology. He's like he treated me with nothing, but respect this entire time. Because I just want to say I'm sorry in, you know, apologize to me. So it's like you people people will notice that. So if if if police officers in cops have that mindset of like, hey, we're going to try to get us. We're gonna try to so people that we actually care. I think it will resonate, you know. But obviously that can't be every single time because you know, like, I said, I was a conflict for years, and I can count at least three or four times when someone's like as soon as this is okay. This guy's trying to kill me. Like actually taking shots. It's you or how were they trying to kill you. Yeah. Feel like the wild one was I pulled over a vehicle, and you know, when you when you when you pull over a car, and you're running license plate, the vehicle owner information, you know? Comes up and dispatched gives you the information. You know, how tall this person what their name is. If they have any wards, you know, their their licenses and whatnot. So I'm pulling over a car that's driving the middle. And I would know headlights on our had one headlights something like that, you know, and and as I'm walking up to the vehicle dispatch time, and they go, hey, the registered owner for the vehicle has a warrant of for traffic, and he has a suspended driver's license. Not a big deal. You know, hey, you're not supposed to be done. So as I'm walking up to the car on the driver's side. I just get that that Spidey sense, man. Something's not writing the hair on the back of my next ends up as I'm approaching the vehicle. I have my flashlight, and you know, when the tricks that cops do they put the flashlight right in the rear Ramiro the side mirror. So the driver can't see you approach, and so I- flashed my flashlight into this guy side near and his eyes. Do not budge he's staring directly into this mirror directly at me. And he's not blinking. He's not moving and just the creepiest sense came up to me. I was like his is or speaking very bad intentions, and I don't know how he's not doing anything his hands on the steering wheel. He's not shoutings not moving as like someday. Right. You know? So I I get on the radio. I said, hey, go in send me a second police officer, you know, and you know, it was a smaller town centre officer shows that, you know, rather quickly, you know, in of staring at this driver a second unit shows up. So the second cop is approaching from the passenger side. And he's looking at me like, hey, look what you go. What's up? What's wrong? And I'm just shaking my head like some like he without saying something he knows I'm trying to say something, right? You know? So the the second cops starts approaching from the past and your side as I mentioned the driver's side. Roy when you know, the guy starts cracking his window with his left hand, and his left hand goes down to a side, I stopped on the driver's side right behind his window. So I. Poke my head through the window and right when I stopped my partner steps up to the passenger side, he flashes through the window. This guy was holding a butcher knife. I huge Butch and I've ad say at least twelve inches the blade in his left hand, and he had a position right under the window. So had I poked my head in you know, to talk to him or he got close at all. He had to do was brazen hand. And who knows what happened to me? So obviously, my partner yells out, you know, he's got he's got a knife. You know, so I was drug onto this pointing to pick this guy into custody. We, you know, we get this guy into custody. Then Scott tried to stab me in the face over a suspended, driver's license and a warrant. No. That's not the case. That's not his car. That's his brother's car, then he was driving. This guy was wanted for he beat his wife. So from a notice that he beat his wife so bad that she was in a medically induced coma, and he was fleeing..

"Did he's telling me all these stories about how he's helping people and how it's good pay and the insurance and a pension, and you know, this and that and then obviously like the cool stuff to that comes with it. And I was like, you know, I'm going to give it a shot, and you know, after testing for the live and she landed. Yeah. Landed a spot, and I went in with the sole intention. I was like, man. I I wanna prove that like good people can be costly. I wanna actually be there for the people. And you know, it was it was a obviously it was a learning experience because I went into it as a civilian seeing how bad the police are. Now, I have the unique perspective of seeing both sides. Right. You know what? I mean. I I I have firsthand experience about how dangerous in how on. Unpredictable. There's job is. And why some cops might be a little bit on the edge when dealing with people. They don't know, you know, I again, I was only a copper for years, and I can count at least three or four times where I knew someone was actively going to try to kill me, you know. And that's you you think about this stuff. And he was like man, this is imagine the cop that's been on the job for twenty years. How many times do you think he's been you know, he's thoughts? Someone's trying to kill him. We think every single person you approach you have to them as a threat. Yeah. And it's so it's a it's a unique situation because I I do feel like there's a problem in law enforcement and how they treat citizens. So I believe this is from my experience, you know. And from my town, I believe the officers should take the extra step to try to to try to defuse the situation before there is one right? So obviously, if you're if I'm pulling over someone that's wanted for murder. There's. Nothing. I can do. It's going to be a situation. What happens often is no one wants to get pulled over. No, let's deal with the police especially especially when they feel like they're being profiled. So if I'm pulling someone over, and they feel this cop is only me over because of my skin color. There's already a problem. So I took the extra staff that when I would you interact with people I would always try to defuse the situation by immediately throwing out that that that mindset that they have. So I would knock on the window, and they would lower the window and they're expecting me to say, sir. I'm so, and so what this department I need to see your license and insurance or hey, you were speeding or do. You have any idea. I'll faster this is what they're expecting right? The first question. I asked is excuse me, sir, is everything. Okay. And what do you? What do you mean is everything? Okay, man. I saw you flying like a bat outta hell down the highway is everything. Okay. I just want to make sure you're good. I don't know if you have an emergency or anything like that. And the guys like no everything's fine officer. I'm like, oh, good medicine and make sure you call him in you mind, if I just grab your license insurance Bill going. I just you know, what I mean? Like, I already diffuse the situation because the guy was checking on me, do you know what I mean like, it's it's just a little trick. But then obviously, there's there's situations where like you approached the car, and it's already the guys getting on the car, you know. So it's you try to I always wanted them to tally of lemme always try and that that's the reputation. I ended up getting the cop. Like, I if you shows up he's gonna talk like not not talking about the ledge like literally. But like I always show up to like. All right. This is about to be a fight. I let's all calm down his talk about it. You said a relate with people man like people make mistakes. People people are out there hurting for money, you know, or people have drug and alcohol problems. Like, you gotta come down to the level and show them that you care, and you know, how how many times, you know, like, I literally got into like. We're taking a guy in custody. And this guy's just throwing fits he's landing. If you're re we're actively fighting, and you know by the time we get cuffs on him..

"Let's talk a little bit. Speaking of shots who say way when before you got into wrestling, your job was pretty impressive. Even before that. Great segue, though. Very listen. Yeah. For those that don't know is actually one of the boys in blue. I was there. I was a police officer a sick Lago calling years. Yeah. Talk about Dodd's and some shots there. And you know, like before the internet goes, well, let me stop what used to be a cop. I hate cops. I get it. There's a lot of people, and there's a lot of distrust, long voice -ment, and that in itself is one of the primary reasons that I became a cop not to get on my soapbox here. But I'm a firm believer in like if you really believe that something needs to change, you got to change it from right? That's a good point you have to. And I was like man not that I got like in trouble with the law, but I've had bad experiences with cost to just being like man, they always a ale for like, no reason like total abuse of power talking down to us like, you know, just being a bully. And I, you know, and then you know, you watch. Watch the news, and you see all these terrible things happen and young people. You know, getting shot and killed over nothing. And you, you know, these bodycam investigations about police abusing, power and planning. This is this is terrible. And I've always had a sense in in like, you know, you kind of your tracked towards things I was like man like I love the idea of like serving the people are like Justice, or like, whatever my name, my real name is a deal all of and it literally translates to one who serves Justice. So it, and I didn't grow up like I wanna be a cop. When I grow up, I wanna be arrested or when I wanted to grow. But I was always like man that's a cool job being a cop like saving someone's life. And being there for like, that's cool. That's admirable. It's respectable. So votes had that like attraction to it. I guess, and you know, one thing we used to another, and I'm working, you know, a marketing job I would school for marketing, you know, doing anything not really thinking WWE or any. "I ended up like doing a full rotation. I was like what am I landed on my own making the face. And everyone's like, you just this is a backwards for fifty of wet. There's you just do a bag words for fifty. It's like on that sixteen on at least I climb up and do it again do it again. I was like dude that's a Finnish. That's a backwards for fifty. You know, and I was like, oh, I got and I'm gonna change the business, but this move, you know, no one's ever done. Eventually, you get on YouTube, and you find out like, you know, someone in Japan's already done it or you know, someone in Mexico's already done. All right, whatever. But yeah, I like that's how I stuck with it. So I was doing it for a while when it came up to me, I haven't been using the move as much, and you know, because he'll so I was like all right. You, you know, I'm gonna do this move. And when I when they made. That switch right away. They go. We're going to be a baby. I was like I haven't worked baby face in like five years. I'm like, what am I doing in trying to come with the move and Adam Pearce, he's don't you didn't use to do the thing that backwards. Sing like, oh, no. He remembers. I like, yeah. I haven't done it while he's like we can get crash out here. You can try right now. Like, everyone like is looking like RoH dogs loaded and hundreds of looking like was like, oh, man. As like, I haven't done this in five years. I was like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They'll probably no problems. And so they bring up the crash pad. I was like oh then you'd better up botch. This you know, I go ahead and they're gonna get through finishing on. Okay. Cool. So yeah. Eventually like now, he it the oath I four four fifty backer those, and yeah, it's it's it's it's cool, man. Like, I feel like it's a move that you know, 'cause I I started working the smackdown live events, and like a lot of the guys are giving me like a lot of feedback. And they're all they're saying people are still trying to process what you just. Did. Right. You know what? I mean. They're like man like you stand up there. And like, oh, this is cool. And then I I I do the move. And then there's this impact. And it's like delayed reaction before they like erupt, and they go people are literally like what did he why? And then they're, you know, it's you know, when jumped this one time, they they hear him. They pop right away. You know is always like awkward one or two seconds. You know, delay in reaction in out. And I couldn't figure out what it was. And they're like, we just think there's people just processing which you're doing. I was like oh see now. You know, it's not a big deal to me. For the first time. Like, what did they guy? Just do. It doesn't make sense. Like, I said like visually. Okay. You talked about a swan the guy jumps forward lands on his back. He's bought a moon solo guy gems backers lens on his stomach. I get that with yours. Like, I said, it's one of those ones. Like those old Ray mysterious moves were I just can't comprehend what the hell just had. So I can get can see that. Yeah. Man to jump in talk. "But like all of that meant the world, but like the comeback and see like your brothers and arms like the guy that you know, you were in the trenches with their standing there, and they'll all genuinely happy for you like dude that that was heavy. It was a very heavy moon for like, this is this this and that the most that like, and then Jack Jack Allard showed me a photo after the fact of them, they're literally the w ended taking a photo or Jack took that's your. But they took a photo of all of them like huddle around the monitor backstage by guerrilla that's long the entire minutes. And I was like man like that's like, that's when you kinda know like you there's something special. They're like all these guys are like for you. So. Yeah, man that meant the most like out of everything is wild as that night was like that. And that the most having the respect of your peers means, you know, this one thing having the fans respect you. But the peers respecting you is almost if not more important. Yeah. Definitely like. What like what greater adulation, you know? Can you get someone that gets it? You know, someone that knows how difficult is is they appreciate you or or what you're able to do. And and and and the like that that's the highest compliment, you could get was what was Vince is advice and feedback to you, you know, and and the thing that blew me away was this is an interesting the small things like Vance has always been very like positive feedback. I've actually one met with a few times to kinda like introduced myself, and my what I represent like this conversation. We're having right now. Like, hey, like, I just wanted to let you know. This is my background. This is this is what I think is cold. And how I think the company can leverage we so you know, he he's he's I've talked to them before. But this is the first time he gave me very specific direction on how he thought I could make money in W W N, I came back, and you know, he gave me feedback about the promo and this and that and he was the one thing I wished you would changed. He's like. You gotta remember that guy. Like you. You're always always fighting from under because you have this rare quality to get actual empathy from the crowd goes. That's so hard nowadays. Nowadays, people are like, what are you? I feel like you have the ability to actually make people go man, he's really taking a beating. He's like I leave because that's where you're gonna make your money. He goes, you're always always. And he's like kinda like plenty on my chest. His because that's how you're gonna make money. And I was like holy crap. Like, and it's crystal clear direction. Now, you know, what he what he sees me as like, okay? Yeah. I I can do that Boston is like all right? Good job. And you know, that was that was very quick, obviously. But I was like man like that was the most like clear like this is what I want for me that I've gotten from. Okay. That's what you're going to get. You know, we'll, but that's like you said, that's direct orders. Not just not just a random like we'll just work hard and grab the Br. Ring. You guys you guys really worked hard. Thank you. Thank you. You know, like even have gotten it before we came back to go the other guys, thanks for working, really hard or free. Thanks, and you know, he's right back to the monitor. It was like this was like stand up in my it looked me in the eye. This is what I want this. When I see you as I was like, okay, I've got like you said like a direct order like in. All right. And that's and that's very valuable currency right there. Okay. So before we talk about with stop was finished amazing move that he does the what is it five? Oh, four of the helical and his former gig is a Chicago police officer. "Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. I felt like sounds really weird to say, but generally fell out of love with wrestling for for awhile while I was doing it. I was like man, lemme go do this. You know, like a Conversely I have love for it because I'm still doing it. And I'm not. And it's not like I'm making a living off of that. You know, I still have a fulltime job as you know. I'm I'm still going to school and stuff like that. But this is obviously a dream of mine, I'm still chasing it. But like, I I hated doing that character hated it. And the turning point for me was I was an oak forest, Illinois. And I remember at some point of the match the match spilled outside and there's a young kid. He must've been like six seventy something like that. And as I'm walking into the guardrail. He jumps out of his chair, and he puts both of his fist up like he wants to fight. But not in like a like he was playing like out of like fear anger, and I remember looking dead into his eyes. He's blonde hair blue I kid, and I was like holy crap. I just taught this to hate me to hate people that look like me, and it wasn't like, oh, no, brother. You're getting good. He'd know. This kid was like you Muslim scum piece. You know, like I saw in his face. And I was like what am I doing? And like, I know this is a small indie show. I know no one's going to see this. But like that kid he's gonna go to high school with another kid that looks like me, you know, what I mean like an I was that kid in high school that had to sit there while everyone stood up and says, we should go overseas and kill them. All like, I'm pushing that agenda on this young mind. And yeah, like, you know, that might be a stretch. But like I felt it, you know, and I was like I'm not doing this crap anymore man on. I'm done with it. And that was the last time. I did it is a I'm just gonna go by Mustafa. I'm not saying anything negative about America. Because I don't have a I'm from America American. Yeah. I'm gonna yeah. I'm gonna make the crowd to heal. And they go how you're going to do that. I was like by not being a heel. I was like I'm just gonna come on. And they're gonna boom me an appoint that out to them and said, you guys are literally booing me because of my name in how I look you're the he'll not me, you know. So I ran with that for a while. But yeah, it was always like is this interesting. How wrestling kind of reflect society, you know, what I mean? Like, it was it was like I lived in that that timeframe were like, you know, like MO Slim's our era ABS or Middle East, and like they were the bad guy. Like, no matter what. But the thing is is huge difference between people from Pakistan, and Al Qaeda. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I would say there's a few differences you..

"What is your what is your background? So my dad is vox on. Okay. Mama's from India. And I was born here in steaks dodges have a nice little mostly coastal background. Which is what the? They're looking for especially with Pakistan. I think are you the only Pakistan wrestler that we know of. That's yeah. That's in WVU. I'm the only one of a buck background. I whenever so let me ask you this when you're gonna go, and and pick a name, and you choose Moustapha Lee, you know, in this day and age instantly. You're thinking like kind of like, some kind of terrorist type of gimmick was that cat's name that was here back in two thousand with device brother Mohammad Mohammad Hassan, and Sean Davar. Yeah. There you go. So like, stop Lee. Now, you're picking this day, and this is not your actual name. So what's your mindset in in in choosing that name? So, you know, everything you said initially. That's exactly what I wanted to avoid when I first started out wrestling. And this kind of like it kind of shows you how like string of society is when I started wrestling. I was sixteen. You know, I I love I love wrestling. I want to entertain people all this stuff, and I go and get trained, and when it's you know, when they, you know side, okay? You're ready for a match and guess or thinking about a character? I was thinking, you know, this guy this guy, and they go. No, no, no, you're Muslim gotta be a bad guy. Wouldn't even have to be. They're like, no, we're gonna call. You Sheikh, Abdullah, something something, and you're gonna come out with, you know, a vast that looks like you have a bomb on you're gonna you're gonna threaten dizzy you. You're gonna drag the American flag, and I always like not terrified since like, you know, someone who are terrified. And since like, that's like, no, I don't wanna do that. Right. And I was in high school when nine eleven happened. So I didn't get like I think it bullied like I didn't get like treated differently. But I definitely felt people looked at me differently. And it was a time. You know, when nine eleven happened, obviously, everybody effected me, you know. No, I'm an American, you know, like, and I'm like, oh, my God people died like this is terrible. This is evil. So we would have his classroom discussions and people were encouraged to talk freely. And I always remember like kids were like kids. My friends were like, we gotta go overseas. And we've got gotta kill all of them kill all the Muslims. And I'm and I'm sitting. Right next to them. I'm like holy like, and I didn't get mad at them because I could understand their mindset of like they're tuning into the TV and all their sing is anyone has a Muslim like name that looks like a Muslim presentative evil. So they're gonna associate that with bad evil as I don't wanna push that agenda and be a part of that. So I I refuse to do that type of character initially, I as a K I wrote a high flying. I love Lucy libra, can I can I just put on a mask and pass myself off as a loser door. So everyone's like, I mean, you're going to do what you wanna do. So that's what I did for the first, you know, four or five years, I just put on a mask. I try to pretend to be like, you know, there's there's Lucia door. And and and obviously like the wrestling was fine. But there was no connection to the crowd. I was just the guy doing moves. You know, there's no there's no real personality behind. There's no connection. I actually ended up getting hurt broke my wrist, and I was out for a few months because. Have to wear like a forum cash silly. But I was just so frustrated with resting at that point. Because I you know, I'm not really breaking on the local bubble. Everyone keeps telling me, I don't have character. I need to work on this and eventually got con dot com. I got talked into how you decision with myself. And you know, here's a low point for me because I kinda like caved into the pressure of the guy..

"And you were like a last minute replacement for what I remember is that man, it was such a like, you know, they'd be like like a little like mini dachshund for me like a week ago. And I didn't realize how much this story hit with a lot of people because I got like I got like bombarded with messages about like how inspiration story wasn't like when it happens to you. You don't think, that's inspirational? You're like, this sucks. What happened was you know, like any guy on the scene? I I've been I've been wrestling for like sixteen years like everyone thinks I'm like. Like new young like like thirty two banana for sixteen years. I just couldn't get to the next level. You know, I had like one naturals bring along. Right. Any soon? The international came up like it didn't happen. You know? So in the Kruse way class was like, this is my last shot, you know, and I had a try out in two thousand thirteen for WWE. And it just said no like, hey, like, we like your word. But you're just ask statically. You're not what we're looking for it. You don't have size. You don't really stand out? There's not really something that we feel that you can we can plug you into you know. It's a no. So now, I'm like, oh, you know, where do I go? What do I do when the Kruse way classic comes calling. I talked to Rigo. And you know, he tells me about the tournament and about how it's gonna work. So by obviously keeps his hush-hush until we announced, of course. So I would say you told people close to you like your friends and your family whatnot. So you know, I'm waiting for it. And they they announced the tournament, and they released the list of all the participants and my name isn't on. List, and I three what did I do something that I not forget to submit something. I thought I signed the paperwork, and I and then I call and I find out that. Oh, you're not in the tournament. You're just a backup your alternate. Wow. If someone gets hurt or can't make it then you might be in the tournament. But there's also ten other alternates while I'm like, yeah. Adding on your face like, you know, you've been training. You're trying to get ready. New gear. You just honestly, I remember I it's funny because I vividly remember the day because it was a terrible day. I was I was building patio furniture in my backyard. And after I got off the phone with Rigo my wife came out. She just knew like what happened. I was like I I feel like an idiot. Like, I really thought I had a shot and now I don't so obviously, I still go, you know, and I have this chip on my shoulder. I'm like, man, if they if whatever reason they they crack that door open, the I'm gonna kick this damn thing down, you know, can the door cracked open one. Of the rest of there's couldn't make it. I don't know visa issues or he didn't wanna make or whatever. But I took that opportunity, and they go you have five minutes first round with Linda Dorado, you're losing. And then see you later. Okay. Cool and Lindsay drought. And I go way back, and he's a fantastic performer, and we just went out there. And we you know, we said we got five minutes. We gotta make them talk about us in five minutes. No did that. And then I think because they saw how you know hungry..

Will it be an Agar? We'll be a pot of gold. I guess they're going to find out with Duff gins joke of the week. Here. We go. Hey, Chris Jericho's defecating on hope you're over your good. I got a little issue by neighbor came out me aggressively yesterday. She's asking me if I knew anything about her underwear disappearing from the clothes line almost he's. Thank you very much by I like, though, one actually it's pretty funny. It's good, especially this dry duffed delivery, the triple D trademarked Duff check. This out has not missed calling in a joke of the week since August of two thousand seventeen when we started this not even when he was in the Philippines of guns roses or Christmas vacation with his family. He's still called him. In is a super brother, and even though guns N roses are taking a break from the road. Right now Duff is still crazy busy. He's got a solo album coming out this year that he wrote in lieu of writing another book he wanted to write about his experiences with guns and roses. So he wrote a solo I'm about it. And he's also in working on that record with shooter. Jennings course, Waylon Jennings, son. I'm sure he'll do more with walking papers. He did cover up over New Year's Duff is a busy guy loves plan. Rock and roll. Maybe even a new loaded record with X Fauzi bass player. Jeff Rouse, lots of stuff coming up from dolphin. Of course, the eternal question. Anything more from guns and roses? Maybe we'll find out the most importantly coming up. Duff more jokes of the week for two thousand and nineteen. So I guess you guys as we move on of her all the big news about all elite wrestling, and I just want you to know that next Wednesday. I'm going to tell you the entire story from soup to nuts on how I ended up going from WB to new Japan to all elite wrestling, and the plans that we have from this new company, and it's going to be a great great year for all Chris Jericho fans all wrestling fans in two thousand nineteen so stay tuned for that on Wednesday. But for today on the show one of the hottest superstars and the WB. The Debbie's newest man, evanger, newest top guy. Mustafa ali. He's telling the story of his unbelievable meteoric rise from two five live to the main roster like in the past three weeks. How he became more of the biggest Debbie superstars and a new top guy almost overnight. He's also talking about this other gig that he did before. He was dressing which was being Chicago police officer before his days wrestling, fulltime got some crazy stories, but with that was like NFL, my yacky. Let's just get to it with Mostapha. Al Ali, you're gonna love this conversation right here right now on talk is Jericho. Devastating. Very awesome place in a very the nut. Strange. Who's here with us day the brand new main event or on the WB roster seemingly out of nowhere? Yeah. Introduction. Yeah..

"He was to them and how much he had helped them in their career. I think remain young is one of the ones that's really come out very broken up by this because she was very close friends with him and how much he helped her when she first came into. The company in how he's meant. He mentored her to get her to where she is now. And I mean just to hear stuff like that to know that that knowledge in that skill has been passed on makes it a little bit easier. Because I think the one thing that's always really tragic is when you lose somebody like this in the wrestling community end that knowledge in those stories and that experience and the skill is lost. It's gone because there's nobody that can even remotely touch it. That's left. And so, you know, when you find out a well, he never really passed any of that on your like, oh God, that's such a waste. That's really such a way. So to know that that did happen, and he was able to pass all that on and some level to multiple people makes it a little bit easier. But yeah, super sad about meaning that and that was a blow like 'cause nobody was expecting that. And just bam history morning. And you're like, oh what? What? Like all three of the ones that happened yesterday were out of the blue unexpected. And they were really they're all seventy six that was weird. That was really weird. All men all entertainers, all seventy six. What's what gets the rob about back? That was weird. But yes, good. By mean, gene? Thank you so much for the memories say Hello to everybody up in the sky and have fun at the party because the party just got a whole hell of a lot funner. Well, no, no. We don't want him to go. The party is going woo at a party anyway, anyway, but the news just a couple of quick no pack McAfee has signed a new deal with WWE. So congratulations to him. And it looks like the DJ's e interpret Lee are no longer with impact wrestling. So they're moving on, unfortunately and last, but certainly not least we gotta give a big congratulations to our friend, Mike Kingston, former guest of this show because he's got a brand new comic book coming out where he has partnered with one Mustafa Ali to create a digital comet called the beacon and its collaboration with Moustapha and one of my favorite artists Nadia Ramon or only WADA shabu she I think her name, right? If it did say your name, right? I'm so sorry. But she creates a lot of the wrestling fan art, especially for Mustafa. So if you see I think it's actually on his Twitter right now. I think it is. I think it's his his icon in maybe his banner image of otr. Well, I'm looking now. But anyway, when like Mike put out or I should say Michael put out a teaser picture like a couple of weeks ago of the comic of him. And I was like oh. I think that is that he's like may on. So I'm so excited that she got to do this because she is such a phenomenal artist and stuff is a great guy actually really looking forward to seeing this the velvet now headline comics dot com have comic dot com for ninety nine cent digital download. You can get the thing right now. So had check it out headlock coming dot com..

"Ever for annexed t signees ring of honor is gonna have to compete with that by offering bigger money in order to get that big money. You have to have value. You have to p you the the organizations have to know that you're going to bring audiences to see you. So that is the job that abortion will Osprey have at this show. And I'm what are they gonna be staying in new Japan for the next ten years? It's just the landscape of wrestling is changing in a way that you gotta make an impression and this is the opportunity for those guys to make an impression. And I think they will. I think we'll Osprey probably needs the win more than a she does. But I would my preference. Would probably be a Bucci winning. And again, I'm no, you know, new Japan expert. I don't watch every show. But I guess I know enough maybe I don't depending on your perspective. We got the three way tag team match for the I w GP junior heavyweight tag team championship, which is Suzuki gun versus Ripon G three K versus the Ingore Nobelists. They hop home. You know, I'm hoping it's Bouche Takagi. You know, I I love ally mainly for Naito, but you know, when that allied J logo pops up I pop when that logo pops Sam Roberts pops. So that's who I would want to win. This one Zack sabre junior is another guy who's got to make an impression this year. You know, Zack sabre junior is a guy who was in the cruiserweight classic. Who did not take the WWE up on you know, entering the two. Oh, five live landscape, which maybe is a good thing. You know, two. Oh, five live was not exactly the runaway success that I think some of the guys there thought it would be. But when you look at it. I mean, I think. Drew glac is doing great in terms of the character work that he's done clearly. You know, there are standouts into a five live. I think in general. Not so much. But like Mustafa Ali is now on the main roster a smackdown. And he's in the conversation of main event guys, you know, Mustafa Ali has a very smackdown early smackdown. Vibe from the initial draft when you guys like edge, and Ramos stereo and all those guys kind of Eddie Guerrero on the come up about to become the next class of WWE main eventers Mustafa ALI'S in that conversation in two thousand nineteen and two oh five live is what got him in the door. I mean, look, guys, etc. Alexander, and buddy Murphy that have gotten mainstream pay per view matches. You know, again, I'm not saying Zack sabre junior should have gone to to five live. I think as much. That the whatever not panache, but as much weight as a junior holes, I think he can do even better outside of WWE at the moment. But this would be the year to do it. It's exper- junior versus Tomohiro Ishii for the British heavyweight championship. You know? I mean, Susan Cain have a British heavyweight championship. Not the worst thing in the world that has exit between junior hold the title. It's a three way tag team match for the tag team championship every match is title match. I don't know how people don't criticize new Japan for having way too many titles..

"I really hope he's doing. Well. I really hope he's he's recovering. And I really hope that big cast snaps out of the funk that he's in and starts to make a name for himself on the independence. Big has never had the opportunity to run the independence because he went straight to the performance center. Curt Hawkins he talks about it on the show that he became a different. He's talked about it here on the podcast. He became a different performer after he left WWE and had his Indies run. You know, and you can see it. You could see it even though he's coming out and losing every week. He owns this character. He has a presence about him. He has a purpose when he comes out there. And I think that's probably something that he learned just by wrestling everybody that he could in every scenario that he could in every type of match that he could in front of every type of crowd that he could. And I think that that would do big casts. A lot of good because I'd like to see him grow into the performance that I think he can be and if that's not gonna happen WWE. There's no reason that it can't happen outside of WWE. So I hope that big cast is doing well. I was a little scared. A little worried for him. When I read the news, but I'm really glad it's not drug related or anything like that. And I hope his health is good. And that and that he's doing fine. You know, because I really like I really like the guy that I met speaking of really liking people story number three is Mustafa Ali. Now, you remember a couple of weeks ago when Katie Lindahl did state of wrestling with me the last time, I talked about redoing, raw and. And one of the things I said about redoing raw was have set Rollins come out and give his open challenge and put Mustafa Ali in the match with Seth Rollins like you don't have to make him. Give him the opportunity to shine staffer Ali getting an opportunity to shine against guy. Like Seth Rollins. I think would be similar to win. Sammy's ain't got to come out. You know when he hurt himself. But in that match the moments before he announced he was out with an injury. It was a huge thing. For sammy's. Aim to answer. Johnson is open challenge. It was a huge thing for Kevin Owens. It made Kevin owns at the time to answer Johnson is open challenge. And I think that something similar could happen Mustafa Ali look at you know, Mustafa Ali is to me. Still really underutilized them. Really glad that people are starting to see that. And it really feels like people are starting to see that. Because while he didn't have a mattress death.

"A lot can be done i think that you really the story of the women's battle royal has got to be between bailey and sasha banks i don't think either one of them should win the match because i think that they should cancel each other out they should basically eliminate each other i wanna see some sid justice hall cogan action you know i wanna see bailey get eliminated by sasha banks sasha banks say she's sorry bailey extend her hand to shake sasha banks his hand sasha grab it bailey pulse oshawa right over the top rope and bailey get some edge about her you know i think that honestly i wouldn't mind seeing one of the girls from absolution win the women's royal i think both mandy rose and sonia deville are perfectly capable of it i think there's a lot of ways it could go and we could also have some surprises in that so i can't i i'm not going to predict winners for either the battle royals just specific things that i think should happen the second match on the kickoff show in my book should be cedric alexander versus mustaf ali the second match let's split up to battle royals second match on the kickoff show is the finals in the cruiserweight championship and because it's felt like this thing has been all about cedric alexander since the beginning you know when this before the this cruiserweight tournament started he was already in the title picture so it's kind of been inevitable but because mustafa ali has turned so many heads in the last month or two because he's gone out of his way because he's made his own promos and posted them on twitter his story is getting out there it's becoming viral and people care about mustafa ali and he's doing something that hasn't been done before in terms of who he is and how he's portrayed i think that moustapha ali should walk out of wrestlemainia as the cruiserweight champion you know i think people expect it to be cedric alexander it's almost a foregone conclusion and.
