"Uh, yes. Yes, I'll say yes. I mean, he's not listen to you. He he is not the best wedge player out there. Um, but he's good enough and he's a He doesn't get enough credit for his putting, Um, you know, I mentioned about the Um Green books, but he's still a great potter. But it isn't to me. He doesn't play field game, obviously, because he's smashing it. He doesn't have the feel of Justin Thomas Jordan speed. It rose with the wedge game. That's why he's trying to overpower things. And I've seen him say that. Like what he's trained his body on putts like okay, I stepped this office 30 ft. Like he knows exactly what to do for 30 FT. Now. 30 FT in one direction, or 30 ft. In the other direction at Augusta, Jeff can mean Who? Just world wind differences, right? I mean, and I love watching him play around Augusta with their backs turned to the hole. And you got this eight ft. Downhiller that you trying to keep on the green. You know what kind of things you're not thinking. Can I jam it in the hole, right? Don't put this into the bunker, right? And they're saying, you know, and people I heard a lot on Twitter on Thursday because there was a little brown in the greens, you know, And typically, that's a good sign that you know you don't want a dark brown, but just a little crispy around the edges means there. There is fast is that you know that's that's good grass conditions. You know, you don't want him to lush. Well, but by the way, distance, all right, So you know, even Fred Ridley, the chairman, either talking about distance. You know, potentially played the Masters. So doesn't want to play the master's 8000 yards someday. I don't think you need to. I think this proves you don't need to agree. This is setting up. I mean, if the scores rust a relatively kind of in check, we'll just say, Kevin, the leader of the end of the day, maybe is 9 10. And then Winter ends up being in the 12 13 range. Maybe even could be even lower, depending upon where you know how rose plays. I guess it's mine Understand lead After today, I think for Rosa go out and shoot 70 would be fantastic. It's got all the praise of the pressure. The last T off. He's going to see what guys are doing. Someone's gonna make a move early. Right right ahead of him. I'm talking about, you know, let's go down the leaderboard. Brian. Real real quick. Like Patrick Reid may make a move early. He's plus one. He's plus one. Who station always seems to play well on a Saturday Augusta Nash here like once, somebody is going to make a move early. And it's gonna grab their attention. And you know that John Rama's even we know he's capable, possibly of of rattling off something big bubble. By the way, two time champion here even like listen Look at these names. They're gonna go for it today, Right? Yeah. England. Yes, Right. What reason do they not have to go for you made the cut. Let's put the pedal down and shoot score. There's so many names to that are just lurking Shaw Fleas. Three under Morikawa is to wonder. Uh, the shambo one under Hovland one under like these. This young up and coming group that How about have Linds Week? Oh, my God. He starts off his first ever Masters with a triple bogey on his first hole. And I was watching it and he gives his traditional smile. Yeah, Now it was a wincing smile, but it was a smile. I've seen it's mine, and then he rattles off birdie, birdie, par par birdie, and he's back in. Even like seven holds six or seven holes in and I'm thinking like You know, that's that's a great attitude to have Jeff. I'm sure to compose yourself in your first ever masters to triple and then get it back. And next time he had a bunker shot that I'd be a little nervous after I just belated one, You know, 70 yards over the green, but it wasn't earning Els triple wherever reported like that's right, Nancy Porter any, you know. All right. We're gonna take our first time out here. By the way, D J. Study is available. He's gotta stay. He's gonna stick around. He's got to present the green jacket. Remember on Sunday? I don't know if he's got us. It's gonna be tough. He's gonna shorts and flip flops on somewhere. I was okay. So last night at the end of my savers broadcasts, my brother actually was anchoring and had a trivia question for you. This This is definitely getting me or just for you or for both. No, he he asked. He asked the audience. He s patent. I last night, the end of sabers broadcast does. He was reading off the Masters leaderboard. So moving to Trenton? Uh, sorry did offer. I don't know. Yes, well I'll, Um I'll give you this question. I'll give you the break to think about it. That's right. You said it came good job stole. DJ misses the cut for defending his title. We'll discuss each of those players day coming up here on the podcast with. Nbc's jimmy roberts. The voice of masters digital justin rose was the thirty six hole leader once before here at the masters in two thousand four. The seventeen year gap of thirty six hole leads for him is the longest gap in masters history. But certainly rose hopes to finish a bit differently. This time around in two thousand four. He finished the master's tournament tied for twenty second and one other interesting nugget of information. There have only been five wire to wire masters champions ever jordan. Speak in two thousand fifteen. Raymond floyd in nineteen seventy six. Jack nicklaus in nineteen seventy-two arnold palmer in nineteen sixty and craig wood in nineteen forty one following his second round. Seventy two justin rose spoke with the media. Here's what he had to say thing. The thing is i was just joking. The fingers kind of heading towards the panic buying a little bit But did i talk myself on on eight. And said you know you still leading the masters and i just change my mindset a little bit and started to play matchplay against the golf course scratcher line on my scorecard and told myself as three down and could i go ahead and beat the golf course from that point on so i had a part in eighteen to win my match. One up unfortunately slip.

It does have the biggest steeplechase in the world with a number of runners and riders looking to make history the 4 to 1 favorite of the moments cloth cap, written by Tom Scooter more on that could provide a record fourth win for his owner, Trevor Hemmings. That was column Harrison with the latest sports news, Michael Carson. Wise poetry being extra important to you recently, Um Well, I've always written, uh, I think I had my first poem published in a newspaper when I was 17. But when when I went freelance as a writer and broadcaster I I sort of gave it up. I put it to the side because, like, couldn't make a living doing that without potentially going in as a teacher, and I don't think I wanted to do that. Um, but during lockdown, I've had a lot of time to go through all these little notes that I had made over the years to go back over some homes that were not necessarily, um Finished and I found also that, um, I my approach had changed in a lot of ways. And there was a poem I had published when I was in college, and I went back and completely rewrote it and read it on the program here a couple of years ago, Um, after I had been in Minneapolis to do the Super Bowl for BBC and seeing the place where John Berry man had jumped off the bridge to commit suicide, which is what the poem was about on a completely rewrote it into rhyme. Which which did surprise me. Um and I've been doing a lot of that. I also started doing translations. Um, um of Thomas Transtromer, Swedish poet and Nobel laureate. He's well translated just now, in both senses of the word there. People have done very good translations. They're people who who do kind of poetry inspired but not necessarily literal translations of hiss and there's quite a bit of it. But I still found it was a challenge. Partly because my sweet dish isn't that great, But I have resource is I can draw on like my family in Sweden and um and partly because his writing Although it's on the surface very simple, creates kind of ambiguities and translation that it can be resolved in lots of different ways, depending on what you want to do. There's a particular poem that I gather, you're going to read, which you have to do very quickly to get it in time for the news, Justin Thomas, it's called Lisbon. He wrote it. He went to Lisbon in the fifties late fifties and wrote it sometime after that, and before it was published in the mid sixties. Portugal of that time was under the Salazar dictatorship, and that's basically what the poem is about. It's about that kind of feeling of trying to live a normal life under a dictatorship. Um And well, I'll just go into it. Lisbon In the old Alfama quarter yellow streetcars sang on the steep slopes. There were two prisons there. One was for thieves. They waved through latticed windows. They shrieked that they wanted to be photographed. But here, said the conductor and giggled like someone clothing into here. Stay politicos. I saw the facade, the facade the facade. And high up in a window, a man who stood with binoculars to his eyes and looked out over the sea. Washed clothes hung in the blue. The walls were hot. The flies red microscopic letters. Six years later, I asked a woman from Lisbon Is that right? Or have I dreamt it? Thank you. That was Lisbon by the Swedish poet Thomas Transtromer. Translated by the reader there and our guest on this weekend on this program, weekend edition is Michael Carlson. Andrea. Quick word before we go to the news or Rica. A lot of The pandemic experiences prompted people to get more reflective of you taken poetry more too hard. Myself. Yes. Uh I'm a poetry. I'm I'm I read a lot of poetry, so I didn't need the pandemic to go into poetry to make it short. All right here on this exhibition off. Uh, I don't want you to get into the vehicle with 10 seconds..

Oh right well. let's end with an apology. Pga tour star justin. Thomas has apologized for language. The new york post reports that thomas uttered the slur on the fourth hole after missing a four foot putt for par and he was caught on a golf channel microphone. Here's that clip. So difficult to pick up. How course the grass is going to be one direction. It's going to go in. That went to scott away from him as he tried to aggressively through. Ouch let me say fag. Saturday at the 2020 Masters
"Saturday at the masters in dustin. Johnson is running away. He carries a four shot lead into the final round sunday. Following a seven under sixty five saturday he was masterful tying jordan speiss fifty four hole record chasing johnson on the leaderboard are sung j. M abraham answer and cameron smith all four shots back while justin thomas and dylan 'fratelli sit five shots back following his round saturday. I called up with dustin johnson. Seven hundred sixty five news. Dustin johnson to sixteen under through three rounds. What did you do well saturday. And what if anything would you like to do. Better sunday I did everything while today. Adrover very nicely head. A bunch of fairways Hit a lot of greens and felt like i. I gave myself good chances on your on almost every hole. and so. that's kind of what you gotta do here. In the conditions. Not a lot of wind you know. Courses is fairly soft so you can be aggressive and Strike in a very nicely today And so you know tomorrow. We'll have to go out and do a lot of the same if i to win. Tied jordan speeds fifty four hole record. What's the balance between staying aggressive and not being dumb Well for me. It all depends on you know. Flag positions numbers Forgot a good number. And and i like the flag is a play aggressive but Like i said the course right now is is very receptive so you know i know the guys behind me are going to be trying to chase down south. You know you can't play you know there's a there's definitely a fine line of being too conservative and too aggressive but you just have to pick and choose my spots second last year. How did that impact your motivation. This time around. I mean yeah it was. I've played well last year. I played while the last couple years so obviously this one tournament that that i definitely want to win and you know. It means a lot to me. A- grew up so close to here and so it is something that i really look forward to until tomorrow is going to be a. It's gonna be a lot of funding. I'm gonna try to enjoy myself as much as i can and Hopefully hopefully outcomes good tomorrow afternoon. You heard dustin johnson say right there how badly he wants to win the masters. It's the dream of every player in the field in this eighty. Four th edition for more analysis on the third round and what to expect sunday. Let's bring in the voice of masters digital jimmy roberts. Dustin carries a four shot lead into sunday following a seven hundred sixty five saturday. He was masterful. Tying jordan speiss fifty four hole record assess his performance on saturday. A great it was basically as good as you could get You know you said it. He tied the fifty four hole scoring record. It is a different time of year. But i don't think it really matters. I mean the thing that sticks out to me is that you know through fifty four holes. He's got two bogeys which is unimaginable. On this golf course and they were in consecutive holes. Fourteen and fifteen in the second round. And when you stop to think about it he bogeyed the second easiest hole on the course which means that by all rights. He should probably expect to birdie the fifteen th hole. You give him two more strokes and he's just farther ahead of the pack. But i will just say this. I was here in nineteen ninety six and i covered that masters where greg norman had six stroke lead and nick faldo came back to win it so i mean this course can do things to you i mean. I think that there were extenuating circumstances that year. Norman had some physical difficulties. That didn't manifest until the final day and faldo played effortlessly. I think he shot sixty seven It's gonna take that for somebody to beat him tomorrow Somebody's going to have to play really really well. And he's going to have to stumble. What is it about this golf. Course that suits his game so well. Well i mean at this point really. He's the number one player in the world and he's as they like to say in europe he's on form so you know. He's a finely tuned engine right now and He's not even close to the red line. So i mean he is just got it all going on right now. I mean he's you know. I always say that you know. These are the best golfers in the world on on a week to week basis. You know you shouldn't be surprised if somebody you've never heard of comes up and wins a tournament because they are all remarkably talented. But he's the best of all of them right now and he is playing really well You know we've talked about this over the last couple of days. He you know he's long and straight which is tough to beat and then a couple of years ago. He decided that in order to get better you had to work on his wedge game so he went and did that he's become a terrific putter and he's completely unflappable. He i think. And i think that's the most important thing i think he's a guy who just does not get undone by much. I just asked him a few moments ago. what's the balance between maintaining the aggression. That got you here without going too far. Yeah i'd i'd be curious to know what he said but in all honesty. I've never seen him loses. Temper made him. I've never seen him hot. I've never seen him running hot. I'd seen him disappointed disappointed. And you're not going to be able to see this on the podcasts. But you know it's just kind of an shucks wish i hadn't tripled that whole crazy when i do. Something you know like that He's really he's a talented man. Who's in stride right now and You know he's done a lot He's one everything but tons of majors. I mean he's tiger tiger woods. He's one in to start his career. He's won thirteen consecutive seasons to start his career. Only tiger woods is done that and he tied him tiger actually one in his first fourteen seasons. But i mean he just consistently wins you know and it's hard to beat talent you know and worth work ethic when you match those two things together. It's very difficult. Let's look at the leaderboard. That is chasing dustin johnson song j. m. abraham answer cameron smith all four shots back. Justin thomas and dylan for tally. Five shots back if you were going to pick one to catch him. I don't think there's any question. The person who watches is Is justin thomas. But the way sunday m is playing and things are different now than they used to be. You know it's been forty one years since a first timer has one here that was fuzzy zeller nineteen seventy-nine. You know i was with the jack nicklaus this morning doing something and He talks. Jack came here and he didn't win for the first five times that he played here. But this is a course more than any other course were experiences necessary. But look you've got answer and in two players who were here for the first time in their you know right nipping at his heels Sebastian munoz too. So i i do think that must not be worth as much as it has been in the past given the level of talent and work of these guys but you know you give me a guy who has the experience and a guy who doesn't of equal talent and at the same spot in their game. I'm gonna take the guy with experience at this place every single time. Rory mcilroy and brooks koepka. Both superstars both at eight. Under after three rounds. How plausible is it that they might contend on sunday. I think it's entirely plausible. I mean i think that you know mcelroy's trending in the right direction after that seventy five in the first round which was disastrous for him. Just can't seem to get out of his own way sometimes but he's got a game. That's ideally suited for this place. He hits it high far and straight. His natural shot is right to left You know he's been number one in the world he's not undone by these big situations. Generally i think he's going to be a very interesting guy to watch tomorrow. But in all honesty there's so much daylight between dustin johnson and the rest of the field at this point and it's not the daylight of four strokes. It's the daylight of four strokes with the number one player on the one side of that daylight. Who's playing well. And i mean. I think it's gonna take dustin johnson shooting seventy two or three tomorrow. I mean i suppose it could happen. You know greg. Norman shot seventy six. Nick faldo shot sixty seven That lead had evaporated by the tenth. Tentpole the eleventh hole So you never know. But i would be. I would be shocked. But i remember being augusta national in in One thousand nine hundred ninety six and remember all the stories that we were doing. And i did a story for. Espn that night. And i said you know it would be shocking if greg norman didn't win but if he doesn't it will be one of the biggest stories and we won't soon forget it and here. We are all these years later. Talking about it at augusta national right now.
Fresh update on "justin thomas" discussed on CBS Sports Radio
"Must be nice when you've got two guys in the same parent who can play off each other as Tony fee known Justin Thomas did the move right into contention. Yeah, it really does help. When, when? When you got a couple of guys playing Well, you sort of draft off of each other, and it's a good vibe and everybody out there. Feels good where we're not at full capacity here in terms of the patrons and s so a lot of the folks who are on the golf course of friends family part of your team. It's nice to have them here When when that vibe is good, everybody can sort of feel it. But When when I look at the leaderboard. And and and you ask me. Who do you like head into the weekend? It's Justin Thomas. He is playing like a man on fire. He's coming off of the wonderful win at the players. He looks super sharp. It's no surprise to see him where he is and where he is right now. Just just three back is exactly where he would have wanted to be head into this weekend. Above him. You've got some men experience. You've got Justin Rose's experience, but he hasn't played very well. Has it been on form? I think is Aziz we get into this weekend. Justin Thomas is the man to beat. The rest of the group at four under par include burned V's Burgers, Si Woo Kim Camp champion Hideki Matsui Yama. All of those four under players are three behind Justin Rose..

Friday at the 2020 Masters
"It's friday at the master's and justin. Thomas began the day by playing the final eight holes of the first round ultimately finished the opening round at six under par. It's the first time he's ever broken par in round one. He almost immediately began the second round shooting three under to finish the day at nine under par overall after the first two rounds. Here's what justin had to say. Friday evening it was quick enough to where you didn't really quite have long enough to get out of any rhythm. I just as soon as i saw my card. I i went to the locker room. Describe a little bit of food when mark my golf balls for the next round and by then i turned around and i told john Who i work with and putting to me on the putting green by one or whatever one ten so i met him there a little bit after ten and we putts for a six seven minutes i mean within a couple of minutes we knew what was going on and And then we walked to the first heat about ten eleven pegged at ten fourteen. Three other players are tied with thomas atop the leaderboard. Including abraham answer cameron smith and world number-one dustin johnson after his round johnson described his mindset. Heading into the weekend a confirm up a little bit but be tougher to to get firm but yeah it's gonna you know we're still going to have to go out. I think it's going to be soft enough to where you're not attack the golf course by aggressive and keep swinging like am i like i like mad at like my position no matter the obviously like all be somewhere around the lead probably not in the lead but within a few shots at least and In a good position heading into the weekend just behind the leaders is a four way tie that includes last week's winner. "Johnson winning the Tour championship in the $15 million first prize for capturing the FedEx Cup. Johnson, closing with a 268 for a three stroke victory over Justin Thomas and Zander show Flee. Black following the action from the clubhouse at at the East Lake where this could be a very special day for Dustin Johnson, Bigger and with $15 million on the line in the FedEx Cup to decide the season champion at stake, it sure is nice to start out by five for the fourth straight tournament. Johnson is our final round leader. Dumb comfortable in the spot that I'm in even even the two Sundays where I didn't win. I felt like a plate really solid ground solid should be good enough. Today. He's at 19 under it. In the fairway on the first hole is playing partner would actually be winning this thing if it weren't for Johnson starting stroke advantage, So Xander softly hasn't worked it if he does what he normally does he almost impossible to catch him shelf We won here in 2017. "That case and then last one. We're going to get you out on this Corey Moss. Seven how many course records do you have? I have no idea when I would think Sony or or y La while I I think fifty nine probably probably fits only I would think Erin hills I don't I don't have Mexico anymore. Thank you Jon. Rahm had it my home course. I don't know if they still do immovable. If you go play somewhere in your about to set the course record. Do you ever do the Hay? Woo who has the course record? And if it's a local pro you bought the last. No you try to break it no. I don't I never shoot like sixty three. I'm like hey guys what is it. The other way some guys will say like they'll butcher the last hole to make sure they don't break the course record. Oh No no if I can break. I have absolutely zero about that. Oh I guess it Madonna. I can't say that I would just start rob cake and then I would try to start. Hit the hit. These forty yard places out of bounds. And I'm like well like what am I doing so stupid so driving me crazy that I couldn't just sit the shop that I wanted but Yeah it was. It was a sad day but I feel confident that you know we play again. I can give them a little bit better match. Alex Charleston wants to know he says the only question I ever asked in. One answered is for a tour player to tell me what their favorite mid round snack is. And how they go about deciding what to take on the core snack wise he says. Don't let me down. I favored encore back as a peanut butter. Banana Sandwich for sure. That's hands down. I I love those that's Can I ask you a question about the the sandwiches? Do players prepare their own sandwiches or is that a caddies responsibility. If you ask me if the players are so I would not feel right as a twenty six year old man asking Patty Jimmy to make my family for me now. Maybe if you have tiger how he feels about us. He apparently doesn't feel the need or that. He is capable as his aides to make his own sandwich. So I don't know I mean if you everybody's different they now. I know I never made sandwiches. I he was. He found it very difficult as well to make his own peanut butter jelly. It can be a little difficult so I just. I don't feel right at with myself as an adult if I have some but if I ask another nail or another person of older age than meets make me a sandwich it's.
NFL explains why there was no pass interference called on play that eliminated Saints
"We're going to. We're going to make football show because that's what people like over the weekend. Everybody who listens to this show presumably watched all of the football games or most of all of the football guess. He missed the playoffs playoff in Hawaii. The yes I missed that one Justin Thomas I saw this morning. I thought it was really nice but I missed it last last night because it came on pretty late We're going to do you because the ratings of the NFL up all across the board because the interest in the NFL is up all across the board and because each of those those games was quite interesting in its own way including terrible terrible. Coaching decisions by both coaches in the Houston Buffalo Game. We're going to talk about out this for an extended period of time in the first segment. Michael Wilbon will join us in second segment. We're GONNA limit news and go right to old guy where we're going to talk about the Golden Globes and the matchups for next week. That's what we're going to the show probably the same length. But I WANNA do it if you don't mind I WANNA do it that way also. WanNa thank Clarendon Tola for Baking Cooke's for Claire Gary Braun Chris Cillizza Michael Kornheiser Nigel. Who has nothing to do except for on the boards because we're not sleep keeps pressing one button? So He's been news cancelled forever now just today. If you don't mind especially the best thing is not gonNa work out just I you know I'm old and I thought why not like Michael said to me last night we were talking about the possibility of of Michael. Are you shaking your head. You don't want me to. Would you go ahead down the fourth wall. People talking about Mike Lees. I won't share this on air dead. Yeah go ahead Michael Says Cillizza how how do we get rid of him. Nicely to the change in the show today. I let's start. Let's start with yesterday's which is going to go backwards. I'm just can start with the Minnesota game because of all the games the end result of that game is the most surprises so like I said on the PTI show on Friday. I'll take Tennessee. Plus Five Live and a half all day and all night doesn't mean I think they're gonNA win. I'm GONNA take those points New Orleans. Losing at home in overtime to Minnesota is stunning drew. BREES did not have a great game he had a very bad fumble in drive. That could have changed in the fourth quarter changed. Everything around. He got picked never gets picked. I mean he did not have a great game. There are three quarterbacks forty years old and up over the weekend and they all lost. We'll get to that but even with brees not having a great game. They tied the game. They got into overtime there at home and they yielded the first drive. That's it see around. see you around Kirk cousins who. I am extraordinarily critical of on a regular basis was very good and kirk cousins to Adam Adam field and had to make up for fumble early. You know but I don't feel did that pass. That wins the game. Now there's a third downplay because what you don't want to do is have to kick a field goal because because you don't want to give New Orleans the ball on the one. Yeah you don't WanNa do that. On the third downplay they go in the left. Hand top corner of the end zone to Kyle Rudolph is about twelve aid aide just like that and by the way quickly give cousins credit. That was a terrible snap. The snap his way to his right he basically knocks it with his right hand. Quickly gathers it because you it's all timing and throws a faith throws the fate and Rudolf reaches up. He's much taller than defender and he gets it in the process of doing that he pushes off. There's no question he pushes off. Does it rise to the level of offensive pass interference for me in a playoff game and I have to give context here. New Orleans has tragically lost in Hoon's replay off games in a row cheated in one cheated by by their own stupidity in another with defensive back and I mean I honestly either call offense a pass. Interference would have so I did not I mean I I watched the play. Did Not in real time necessarily see the wrangle back is in front of your Reina Vision Right. So they call it a touchdown a apparently appropriately to me and then you see the replay and and I did think to myself. Like oh my goodness could they. Could they possibly possibly overturn this. I mean it. And we've all seen their explanation and said there was handed both sides. It didn't rise to level pass interference. I mean I'm sorry by no objective measure to me was that not pass interference and in fact is in fact a couple hours later they called the same thing on hollister tight end from. I'm from Seattle and on much less meaningful circumstance but I mean I just felt like the league. We're getting out of the way this one. I mean there's no way every time it's the UNCANNY situational right. We know this. It's like it's like a Games are raft. Basketball game is reverend different right. The game is rough differently in the last thirty seconds than it it is and that's situationally you cannot. I don't think when I watched it and I watched the replay. He pushed off a little bit. Did it it was. It did not to me anyway. I think I disagree with you. Guys did not to me look agree. Gis I think Rudolph was bigger. The defensive back had his back this business. Being that push back. Chris Locate fully extends. I think it was his left arm. Yeah if he is allowed to do that he catches that ball. A hundred injured time. He cannot be defended. Unless you play. Just there's so many calls they show throughout the game when they every time on a pass Where not every time? Seventy percent of the time on a pattern when they show the slow motion the other guy. The the DB is has his arm wrapped around around the guy's waist or is holding. His arm gets there. I just think it's very subjective. That's fine but I agree with that but I would also agree that the saints should not be shafted million better cost the saints again. Plenty of opportunities it. Certainly when you were watching the game I ah in the flow of it and when tased him hill like in three straight plays a three-stroke they score a touchdown. Now it's twenty seventeen right gary to have that right was twenty. I needed to twenty twenty twenty seven hundred twenty and then they get back they get it back and take some hill like three times. Basically the the one where he runs to the left where it looks like. He's tackled and he spins runs for thirty arts. Well they're definitely going to win then. And then brees fumbled. I mean it was very i. I lost fumbling. The ball get hit. No sort of this is arm gets hit a little bit. I'm sorry I'm busy trying to reconstruct your show on the fly without telling you so allowed back in so so tension is good for the show is for Knuckleballer To to to tie it up. What was the forty nine yard or from lots? They're kicking it through. Yeah man that went about now three feet off the ground and easier kick at the end of the first half a ball Games kick forty something already three but that's an easier kick so that game. Let me say one other thing about that game as someone who was a kirk cousins fan when he was here. I'm not going to criticize Kirk. Cousins played fine. He was he was great in that last. Drive the drive. If they lose the haters are going to look at that stat line that would have been seventeen of twenty nine hundred and ninety yards picked and he didn't do anything bad. Oh he had a good game and the pass was just

"We're all even and I was trying to because I was trying to win the golf tournament. I was trying to get the world ranking points like I obviously a new. If I beat everybody that we it was going to win but I love that golf course but honestly the perfect way to describe it as the first golf tournament for me. I had a perfect drive headed nine nine iron front penn which is it's not hard penn but I mean I feel like a nine iron. I can hit that inside of fifteen feet a lot of times and I hit it to the middle of the green and had thirty feet down-home and I'm trying to Putt and make par and it's like it never really sunk in until like after people are asking me about it and for some reason that shot I'm like that's the perfect example like the first of all the Golf Tournament and I'm playing defensively with a nine iron win. It's just hard to get yourself to attack obviously but it was a learning experience for army and obviously I'd love to be in that position next year but I think you're gonNA see a lot less number one leading the golf tournament through Thursday and win but you definitely have the potential to have ten fifteen guys. I have a chance to win on Sunday. Yeah see as as a fan. I like that comfortable. It's different as a different twist towards the end of the year and I think it it is more just about the the aesthetic of how it's presented at the end right because base clear percentage of winning the Fedex Cup was the exact same as was whatever it was for. It's absol kind of combined into one thing whereas in previous years you had something to distract you the the amid the Media Your Championship and kind of distraction away from the I think that helped you win affects cup but so help us for golf fans. What is what is fifteen million dollars mean to you because I as a fan when I'm sitting here watching it and I'm watching Rory and Brooks Duke it out? I have no idea what that means to them and it's it whether it's five or fifteen that's a huge difference but it doesn't mean as much the fans what does help to help me out that what is fifteen million dollars mean to you. It doesn't mean as much as the trophy to me I it's it's going to be a lot of people that don't believe me but it's just it's I the only time honestly in my career. Maybe a couple of times a year but that I've thought about money on a PUTT was my that eighteen toll on Sunday in Atlanta. It just Kinda hit me. I'm like lying this plot up on like this is a million dollar. PUTT this through feet in it breaks this this year this year and I was like I was I was shaking. I got my yardage book out. I'm like Holy Shit. I'm pretty nervous so I mean that yeah. That's cool like that's that's has big big money but obviously for someone like Roy. That's very far from changing his life or brooks but it's I don't know I guess everybody has different motives but for some reason I've never been never been pushed for the money I just I just WanNa beat everybody else. That's and that's consistent with. I think it was the first time you came under your rookie year. You'd finish third or something and the players and made half a million dollars and I asked you about it and you're just like yeah. You know like to be honest. I was pretty pumped about the finish but like I plan and to make a lot of money. It's not really something that perspective you made thirty million on the course plus. I don't think that counts like Fedex Cup but it's a significant it would be a significant portion of your of of your career earnings but that's that's what I think. Some fans are having trouble with with this big interview thing is it's hard to tell what it what kind of much we're watching the match in between Tiger and Phil. I know you're playing for nine million but I don't. I don't watch the masters because the winner gets two million dollars so I mean if you want some real entertainment go grab two random guys and Jupiter on their plan for nine million dollars that would be entertaining that would be good content. We WanNa do something with Daniel and the garage on the pot is poker player and he bets insane amount of money but he'll he'll back a good player to play with them and they'll play on you. Don't you don't owe money if you lose but you get a portion of their winnings things. We WanNa do something with them. Where like you kind of do a bigger if my PUTT is for fifty thousand dollars like I'm going to be three out of that kind of I mean it's it's all about you know kind of what how you handle being uncomfortable and yeah? There's there's a lot of things that make people uncomfortable but that's but you know that's whether whether you probably know it or not you know that's why I like to play you know there's something about going on the last hole and even if twenty dollars but Vista beat your buddy and he has to handy that twenty dollars ars. That's that's the best so what did you. I guess you said you were more pleasantly surprised with the with the format of the at the end what what pleasantly surprised you about or why. Are you optimistic optimistic about it going forward. It's just it's for the fans I think it's going to be I mean I do think there's going to be years. You know say if I had one of my weeks leaks. Were just kind of everything was clicking. I mean I couldn't one that thing twelve but also you know if I do what I did and then you know patrick she doesn't play well and then you kind of get a couple more guys at like four and five I mean I I really do think you're GonNa have a year where there's ten or twelve guys in the back nine and that can win and it's that's that's it's pretty crazy and that definitely is better for the fans and better for the tournament but it's it'll be interesting. I still think there'll be years like this year or even more so words just two or three guys kind of bailing out but you know at the end of the day you you can't you gotta try. Something and I think that it's like I told Jay I think Kitts. It's definitely moving in the right direction. I think it's getting even closer to just being perfect if you will or getting even better but yeah you never know unless you try. That's why I I was talking to him about it. This week and I said you know these. They talked about it but if you just called it the Fedex Cup at the end of the year I think people would have a lot easier time with it because the fact that it's a tour championship yet the championship trophy tour champion not anymore. It's yeah but I liked it. They're trying something new and it is kind of like a transition fission year for the tour with the new schedule how it's all lined up for you personally selfishly. Do you like the way the schedule sets up. All I mean I had a nice little six six week break in the middle of it so it's you haven't fully experienced exactly. It's hard to say I it's definitely more consistent. You're kind of more in a rhythm feel like golfing tournaments. I mean I'm not GonNa have as many two week two weeks off which I have in years past but the end of the day I mean I control that. I mean if I want a couple two weeks off sprees and I can do that but I think for me. It's better when I'm playing and just kind of play around with it and see what works for us do do you does does the like the condensed major schedule change anything auroras come out setting justin roses made comments just saying that he feels like the majors are even more elevated now. Do you get that kind of sense at all like a topic. That's discussed out there. What's your position on? Does it change any prestige. If any tournaments this new order awesome I mean th the majors are always. They've always been the majors to me. I I don't know how they could have been put on any higher of a pedestal to me because the time of year but I definitely could I see that and do I mean I think it is based out very well and I don't know it's it's interesting. It's good you're definitely definitely going to have some some more opportunities for some. PGA Championship courses that's for sure in terms of being able to go to different locations but I I haven't view them any differently in terms of importance because in on kind of the same vein it's it's weird kind of the reaction to rory season even he was kind of sheepish sheepish about winning the player of the year because he played so incredibly well in everything except the majors and like how do you how do you kind of the consistency was just incredible but you know he would trade all that for major how this may be a hard question to answer but how many like regular PGA Tour titles would you trade for a major. It is tough. I know not all tour titles are equal as well but if you if we're presented for next year and we say your retirement or a major yeah I'd probably say yeah like three fours fours a tough question. I guess it depends if I know how I played the other events but yeah I mean it's that made major life life changing and they you're in the history books here. Just you know your major champion. It's it's a big deal but I would say three is probably my number okay because along those lines you are so you're you're twenty six now. I'm looking at your career numbers one hundred thirty seven starts on the on the PGA tour ten wins forty four top tens which is thirty two percent of the time seventeen major starts you have the one win the PGA three top tens which is seventeen percent time which is different than you did you. Do you owe that to anything anything and are you. I guess you've won the won. Does that make you satisfied with your major record today. No not at all I mean I feel like very very underperformed in the majors. I mean this year. I was a couple just a couple bad finishes away coming down the stretch from having a couple of top five hundred tens in the masters in the open so I've just I've been close had a couple of PJ's revenue around there but it's just I don't know I don't know if it's my prep. That's what we kinda talked about about and I I've always taken the week before majors and you know it's like do I need to play now but then it's like I'm not.

"And then I chunk that in the water and may double ended up finishing like six then that'd you can tell us still really pisses me off they hit the call takes on the tournament. But didn't do that. But you learn from it. I liked is the busy of it. When we we. We had Gary Player we're doing interview with him. And he was telling his story from literally like the nineteen sixty masters. The almost punched through his window in his car because he was still so upset about. Yeah. I mean, I I remember I'd love to Diener term when I was eight to Kevin like, I bogeyed the second playoff hole to lose. And I was I'm so pissed about I choked with second day shot thirty seven nine holes each day. It's out thirty seven to let him into a playoff. And then he beat me. That's keeps that fire. That's we're talking about keeps them going. Last questions. It's December twentieth right now, you're not playing until the first week in January. What are your what are your plans? How do you? You know, you got the holidays yet, you're gonna start. You're kinda season right afterwards. What are your plans for the next couple of weeks? Well, it's been I've actually been home the last couple of weeks, which is great. I haven't been home for this long. Probably my tire professional career, which is nice. So I've been I've been trying to get as much as I can been trying to train really hard in the gym and making sure everything is moving properly, and I'm getting stronger, but I've been practicing pretty hard these last two weeks and just continue to do that. I mean, I'll take a couple of days off my family. My parents got in today. And then I have some cousins aunts and uncles have ten of us total. No to stay at my house, and we'd be Christmas here. They get in like the twenty third. I think leave the twenty six so that's good times with them. Can't take it easy and joy Christmas, and then had to Hawaii the twenty ninth with my girlfriend. She comes in town from Chicago the twenty seventh then we'll we'll head out to Hawaii and then start the year. Yeah. Sounds nice. I do have to add one more because your boy, your I think it's your cousin Zach who have who kind of. To get us in touch and all that you know, we were talking about and chat with you about playing golf with your family. You're kind of saying my family stinks at golf. So he told me to ask first of all it's just Wild Thing about unbeliev one of the best players in the world playing golf with a bunch of people who stink. So how do you guys keep score when you play with your family? We keep score by how many balls or lost. We do it. It would be absolutely pointless. It keeps like actual score said. This is not this is actually really funny. So in crew, we're all really really close. I mean, I'm almost two sisters and cousins. So we went to the HAMAs a couple of weeks ago and. I because I know how they are golf, but they have fun and they oppose up. So I mean, whatever drinking. I go around my house, and I'm finding every golf ball basically that I can possibly find that. I can let them take. So we don't have to buy balls there. They don't have to buy all their I-. Probably brought. I was really trying to think about it. I probably brought eight. I probably brought like nine to twelve dozen if I had to guess something around that he's we got there Wednesday morning when we left. Sunday. And I mean, this, you know, we're playing we're pointing eighteen holes a day not more weed left. So I just we put them in a big corboy box. We literally had him in a box and just brought them with us and put it by the front door. So they could just take them every day when we left there were seven Gulf balls left in the box. And seven and we're all titles guy. So pro vs, obviously. Yeah, they're there..

"I was hoping so badly that his answer is going to be like when I hear the music and the commercial just like all the fans get like the first time you hear like, yeah. It's coming up usually during like, college football playoff or something. When I get that first commercial and you're like holy walking by the TV. Just stop just like drought. The blanket. Like what the fuck is. That is a good point. I mean. Yeah. When you're yeah, you're watching the AA tournament, and it pops on and you're like, oh my gosh. It's it's coming soon. Right. Yeah. That's when you always realize that has a better job than you. When he goes from the final Ernie goes to the final four national championship game straight to Augusta. Pretty good life. Yeah. I love that. We're we hear that music thing. Like, I can't wait to turn on the live streaming and JT. Here's is like I need to start hitting drawing. Man. I should probably start practicing. So earlier this fall in Korea your three hundred and fifty three yard par. Four you hit a three wood off the tee at nine bridges and said go in right away. Did you really think that was going in? So it's funny bring that up Brooks. And I have a little kind of an ongoing bet over the course of the year hand in a double eagle is something that is on that list. And I was playing with Brooks. And we're it was such a long way and like the whole time like Brooks, dude, I'm going to make this. I'm like, I'm gonna make the shot. He's like, okay. And we're just kind of messing around wasn't playing great. And I hit it. And I mean, I absolutely flagged it like I was talking to shout out the Jimmy. I was being such a douche. I'm like I'm gonna hit like this little low cut. It's going to hit that down slope just short, and it's gonna run up during it's gonna go in in a soon as I hit it comes up like that Brooks was like, oh my gosh. And I'm just like go in go ahead. Please go so everybody that obviously saw is like this guy is such a cool, and he's telling us where you went to go from three hundred fifty yards. But Brooks got a pretty good laugh out of it every guests that comes on here that I have like a that. I like. Tweet it always eight miles himself. And they always tell me that word for word. So I was going to say like you came off like such a oh go in from three hundred and fifty yards away. Okay. JT and there's a mazing sword behind Correal before we came on here. Just like I just like Frank I'm going to give them this one. And then you just gave a puddle in my in my seat. I'm like, oh, I'm just a nobody. Say anything say that's an amazing story that is that is so who need nobody got one. Or did not Brooks thing. Get one last year do. Now the earlier this year. So we have the entire year. So from now on if you guys hear me yelling, Pat my ball. Or if you see me telling my mom to go in from two hundred fifty yards. Plus, you don't have to think I'm adding that to happen when you guys are playing together or just now just in general, I'm gonna be I cannot wait for someone. That's actually really exciting end up balls of pets. We're going to get. Olen one whole out. There should be a prophet in the in Vegas who's going to get this. I I'm in on that. We'll get some profits going. That's awesome. I like Vietnam that so I know you're big goals guy. What's your number one goal for twenty nineteen? You're gonna love to hear this. I don't don't share the goals with anybody. I keep them between my team and myself because I made the mistake of doing that my rookie year. And then I constantly reminded the entire year that I hadn't achieved any of goals yet was going to do it. So I mean, it's they're all pretty I don't wanna say obvious, but stuff that y'all could guess pretty easily. I would say, but yeah, we just kind of keep it between ourselves, and you know, the kind of hold everybody accountable and then go over at the end of the year..

"What's your biggest superstition? Well, that's tough tough. 'cause you got a lot of tough because you don't have it. I just I just have a lot of weird things. I really do like if I don't play well, and in like a certain clothing like I I won't wear it anymore. If I'm not hitting it good. I'll change Divet tools if I'm putting bad. I'll change ball markers. I for some reason I always put my right sock onto for my left socks. You are super super. Superstitious? I don't have anything like massive. But it's just like a bunch of weird little ones. I mean, the sock thing sounded more like a condition like we were getting to a point where we're going to diagnose you have something. It's really. Yeah. Exactly. We've heard actually had a half. Whatever guys that have said they put a keep a certain amount of TS in their pocket at all times. Now, that's not me. Is it something that you did it and you were successful? Or did you do this prior to being successful night? You just like you're just used to it like your brain only. But I do like you put on your show. Did you put in your sock on the right foot and then go out and win a tournament? Now. I don't know. It's just I just do. I just for some reason like picked up on one day. I was like damn I think put my right talk. Like eight years down the road. You're like holy shit. I keep putting this right back on. I did this yesterday. And then next day. I'm like I did this yesterday. Okay. You have to talk in a Bryce, and I think everyone has that mentality where it's like, well, if I put my right soccer, I've a ninety seven percent probably of. Your report. What's the most nervous? You've ever been on a golf course. Oh, most of ever been. Probably my putt to win. My first PGA tour event was definitely on their up there. But I mean, the first shot at the radical this year was definitely the most. I mean, it was it just was I was in a kind of a small panic. But like, I would love to know like, Jim Jordan, and Jimmy, and and and Jordan Scottie, Michael like reaction to make because I feel like they're trying to say stuff to me. I'm like, uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure. I just I don't even know what they said. And I was just like making noises. I just wanted to hit the shot and be done with it. So look into the twenty nineteen major venues, we got Gusta Bethpage pebble robot rush. Where do you think wh where do you like your chances? The most. I mean, is it very cocky if I say, I like all of them. Although I haven't been to poor Russia. I love like golf. But I mean, I love Augusta. I I absolutely love. It Bethpage is of course, I feel like the fits my wall game pits my game. Well, and I mean pebbles pebbles iconic it if it's firm and fast, it's gonna be really really tough. So I mean, if I had to put money on anything, I mean, I always love Augusta. And there's no tournament I decided to play that one kind of everybody we ask right? Nor was there any week where you really sticks out where you're hitting the ball better than anyone else or any other week. And he just goes. Yeah. Every week. That's why the savagery right? It was pretty sad is the most common a person we've ever met. But in a very charming way. Interesting at what point you mentioned Augusta at what point do you are do you start thinking about Augusta? I think about it cost all the time. I mean, I'm I was hitting chips very, you know, thinking about potential holes out there that this could be to my advantage. You know, I'm anytime I'm turning over at three would something other range. I'm like, you know, all this. I could on number two. They're just there's it's so weird, man. It's just there's always there's just somehow everything that I do or that a lot of new golf course seems to be some kind of crap for that tournament. It's just it's the best. I mean, I I love that event. And I love that place so much. It's just so special about the something about it every time you get out there and get going in that tournament just has such a sweet buzz to it..

"But at the same time, I kind of data there's a chance to you know, throw the world, but I can do and it's just it's. It's so fun. It's it's kinda it's obviously I'm having a hard time. Putting it into words. But it's I was saying like going to a better was if we would've won how were you able to deliver win the rest of the team, basically, you know, sucked? I mean, they struggled. You know, the thing is is need just gotta go out. And you gotta do your job. It's you gotta go out and get points that you can. And although you're worried and looking at your team, you're just you're out there. Trying to take care of your match and take care of your shot. Take care of whatever you can do because you can't do anything about the other matches. So yeah, we got up to start. And then after that, obviously didn't didn't do the best. But but it is what it is. We'll over two years. I like that. How member will is your wind and the singles against ROY. It was it was great. I is actually fine. Don belong to clubs down here in Florida. And embarrassed club is one of them that he belongs to his well, and we were both out hitting balls the other day, and I was sitting drivers, and he's just kind of standing there, and we had a couple and he was just like how could is that drive. You hit down eighteen against me on Sunday. And I was like, yeah. I mean, I don't really know what to say it was because he kinda plugged it in the bunker foot. I guess it was pretty good. It was 'cause Rory is. I mean for anybody that knows them. He's truly one of the nicest guys, and he's always been someone that as soon as I come province soon as I moved down here to Florida. He treated me like I've been on tour for ten years. So I told him that when I shook his hand after the match is over I'm like, dude like you've been so great to me. I've looked for a long time like getting thrown out in the first match of the Ryder Cup on Sunday is a huge deal and for me to get against him. And to somehow get through to beat him was Detroit to sounds felt like it was one of my best accomplishments. So it was it was pretty cool. Yeah. It was almost I thought it was almost a you got kind of screwed by him getting plugged because people were talking more about that than the fact that you stepped up on that thi this the Horta's tee shot I've ever seen a mind tire life, and you just rip one right down the middle in play that whole that. Well, was one of the most impressive things I've ever. Yeah. It was it was very unfitting way to and the mass. I mean thought on that too. And it talked because we we both are playing some really good golf. We could not make a putt because save our lives, but we were both playing well, and obviously was very heated match coming down eighteen and was such a huge point for us. I mean, we needed to get that point for us to at least get some momentum and have a chance, and you know, I I would much rather, you know, him..

"Live coverage in front of young sports fans. Huge fine should be enforced. Do you feel ashamed? JT? No, not at all. If I if I'm going to say, it's one thing if I'm sitting perspiration. I mean, look like, I I'm the first person that's going to get on board with being a role model to kids play whatever you want to be. I mean, I I do think that very very seriously. And you know, I wanted to grow the game in any way. I can't. But it's it's like I told the tour. It's like I told people I'm like, look I just wanna huge tournament. You know, look at other athletes, I'm not gonna name as because our screwed up and trying to compare myself athlete. Look at other athletes that do something major in their sport. Whether it's a simple or or a big game, or whatever it is. And you I mean, the cameras right on you can read their lips. It's just the fact of the matter is we literally have quakes on the edge of the greens. Which if you ask me, I don't think is very smart idea for that reason. But it's like look I just wanna big tournament. And the fact that they replayed it for five times. That's not on me. That's on them. I only said at once I didn't say for time. So the the fact that I got replayed that many times. Yeah. That that didn't exactly have the best like, but I I don't know in terms of showing excitement and emotion for something. Good that happened. I mean, I'm not gonna apologize for that. But yeah, I guess ventured smack financially I probably could chose a different one. Geologists? I remember that being a tough one for me because I'll be the first to admit, I've given you most of the heat on Twitter and all this stuff on social media. So I'm glad that you said, you don't really read it because actually starting to feel bad. It's on this stuff. I'm writing on on the internet break earlier. Like man, I've since that guy. But when I, but you know, it all stemmed from with the fan thing. I'm like, you know, this guy's twenty five years old. He's my age like like like what rigs just said like he should be one of the guys that like I want to be like your best friend. Don't want to be like fuck, what is Justice Thomas to and otherwise he'd he being such like a dick on the golf course. And then I saw you do the fuck, and I was like well fuck I love that. That's what I do with my friends, and I'm playing the local golf course. Faulk? Yeah. About doing right? So to me that was that that implies that you're making putts to win part of it. It doesn't happen with you. Right. Right. Yeah. That's very true. Yeah. Well, not winning anything. Assumptions there. I'm just like she's not I really comes on the show, just berries, Frankie. That's like the new. That's just the MO. It's a fact that I'm not putting to winter. But let's just put that out there. Lebron james. I'm not winning. You know, the Honda Classic. That's but yeah. But Man. yeah, man, it's like it was a that was a moment for me. That was like all right, man. Like, maybe we are piling on a little bit too much. I think it happened all at once. So no, I think it was like a pile on situation if you were to do that without the bunker situation, I think everyone would have rallied around you actually been like now like that's actually the right thing to do. You're supposed to get excited. Right. Hop on the bandwagon. Anytime I I want want to to laugh laugh. and JT. And that is one thing about you to as you, you know, you show a lot of emotion on the course, and we even getting ready for this. I was I was looking at some of the things it's like, okay, we've been hard on the guy. Like, what do I what that that? We've gone into is it really important that we bring up and talk about in some of the stuff in terms of you know, when you hit a bad shot. You're obviously going to show some disgust in one thing. That's tricky, right? Is like tiger. Does that on the golf course? And we go crazy for tiger. We love everything tiger does. He's throwing clubs and stuff out there..

"You are the more stuff like that. You're in have happened. It's like I mean, you look at LeBron James is he's one of the most freak athletes in the world. And you could probably find one in every book that we'll just absolutely talk about him. But it's like, how can you? You know, what I mean like how can you say something about someone like him? But and I'm in no way, really close to compare myself over on things. But I. Real smart to get out in front that one early. Yeah. Yeah. Me and LeBron, you know, not even not even. It's just the fact, you know, the more successful. You are the more things that you do more people know who you are and the more they're gonna wanna find stuff that they don't like you release early talk crap about you. So it it it got me a little bit not much just because you know. I don't read stuff very often. I don't it's it to be perfectly honest. I think it's a waste of time. And it's just I I would rather spend my time doing something else, then and searching myself and reading stuff, you know, if I'm looking at it, you know, Instagram or Twitter, and it's just stuff that happened to come up. And you know, I wanna get time. And that's one thing. But I'm not gonna go out of my way to read something if it's just gonna make me feel worse about myself that doesn't seem like a fair idea. So, you know, I it was it was different. But then again, I almost it's kinda crazy to say you don't wanna take it as a compliment. But it's like, you know, you go actually starting to know who I am, you know, which is nice is everybody all anybody knew me as Gordon speech buddy for about four years. So I get out of that shadow. How old is that? Joe get I feel like that was the running joke for like four or five years. Oh, no. I don't forget about high school and college to that was before anybody knew you don't wanna thought. So all right. Luckily that he is one of my best friend where it's I mean, like I said, he's one of my friends. It is what it is. But you know, like, I said only other media what to do. And there's nothing I can do. I'm just trying to go win dolph term and stuff. They wanna call me door to speak about even. And if it motivates me to win, you know, eight times in two years, and I keep telling me that it's all means. Well, yeah. I mean, that's you've I was gonna say Jordan speeds might be like on Justice Thomas's friend from what I've seen in the last couple of years. He's got three major star. He's still got me. Pretty. So the other thing in the Honda Classic, which I feel you just couldn't get away with this term, you drop a big old fuck. Yeah. After winning the Honda gets picked up. It gets picked up on the mics, which in reality is just not that big of a deal at all. Obviously you're going to be excited. "It was got pretty hectic there on Saturday and Sunday. So how many times a day? Do you see or read or hear the phrase get in the bunker? I not very much anymore. Honestly, I it's probably probably the only time I really hear it or read it anymore. It's just a joke with my friends or my friends will say to me like rob plan. Every once in a while. I mean, I probably not even close as many times as you guess think. Yeah. Because I remember you kind of you got squash a little bit. I think he jumped on like that. But one of the barstool counts kind of made a little quip at yourself. So kind of squashed it a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. It was obviously it was it was something I want happened. And I mean every time I hear like see the video not washed it very often. But I've seen enough to know that I saw like a total idiot. I mean, I didn't even let broke out in a cool way down like such such a loser. It's like a lot. If you're gonna throw the guy out least put the Memphis behind it yourself sound cool. But now, I yeah, just was something that trying to make gets pretty rowdy and man those last couple of holes or tough and. Trying to win a golf tournament. And it just was a couple at hurt her that a couple of times, and it just was I guess it. Finally, just got to me. And yeah. That never reacted. But you know, the end of the day at least on the golf tournaments that made it feel a little bit better. Yeah. As a weird thing because you know, obviously you won the tournament. And when you win a golf through, and you know as much as anybody how hard it is to win on tour. You win something like the Honda Classic, which is a pretty big event. And all you want to talk about afterwards. Was that whole event we were part of that crowd. We came in. I mean that was I just to be very open and transfer. I mean that was when we first started hammering you're pretty good was from that event was the the whole the guy on sixteen with getting the bunker. I guess from our vantage point all that was picked up on. That was the guys ain't get in the bunker. You saying who was that? And then the famous line enjoy your day buddy, you're gone, which is a whole areas line. I think he's under sun. You through the guy out pretty well. That's not bad. That's pretty good. Yeah. I mean calling a buddy like who do I think I am on the world or something like the calls got body after you just throw them out of the tournament. As just the guy at literally just makes your skin crawl every time. I like you're such a loser, man. That's so brutal. Yeah. So so, you know, you kinda came out you apologize the next day. And and we don't want to hear more on it too much. But like I said we came out pretty hard on you looking back. And then I mean was the guy was there more to it. Because if there was part of me thinks like what the fuck is JT apologize. And if the guy was an asshole deserves to be kicked out there is a threshold where if you're going above and beyond I think it was ROY who at the at Bay Hill had somebody hack on about his his wife or say, that's totally fair. Get that guy outta here. Screw that guy..

"The best. We don't use golf. You're just an idiot. JT? Justin, Thomas, amazing. It was an amazing get right? Like, you would never think to get Justin Thomas. We've had our hate for him. I've been pretty neat to him on Twitter. I hate the way he tweets everything about Justin Thomas, irk me. But then, you know, we get them and we get to speak to him. It's we talked about this last week. It's amazing when you talk this shit, and then you just like speak to the people. I never in my life would have thought. And by the way, I just wanted to say like Hello. You can I want to say when you start off. Hello. You can hear my voice you haven't heard this since last year. I don't know why I wanted to say that to JT no to the the the people listening little New Year's. Sorry. I was so confused. I know I know I know we were getting so far away from where I was gonna hit the joke that now I wanted to go back. Gotcha. Before I got to know. That's fine. You can love New Year's jokes. I love corny near jokes. Like right now, when I leave the office, I'm going to say like, you know, hey, see you guys like next year. Whatever whatever I love that. So hey, you haven't heard me since last year. So it's really important people understand that we're in some time more continuum right now. Hawes we recorded this interview before Christmas on December twentieth. Things kind of happened. The Bryson interview went down, I know JT, listen to the rice and interview at sort of inspired a motivated him, whatever you wanna say kind of as ING, which is also listening to the vodka. Yeah. It's kind of what we wanted to because you think we ripped on and called a nerd these a pretty cool guy and just in her that was like I kinda wanna get in on the big time big shot to Zach who is family member of JT's who's a big follower. Vars who kind of reached out and help orchestrated this whole thing. And. Kind of get it together and JT, and I kind of started chat and a couple of weeks ago. I kept it really quiet because obviously, I didn't you know, whatever, you just don't know and one thing led to another. And he you know, he's like I got a little bit of free time before Christmas. So we recorded this on December twentieth in the now, we're recording the rest of it's that we can drop it on the on January second. So we are we're not our brain power isn't impressive enough to kind of wrap. Our rains around talking about the future right now because we're already. Already magazine what you said I now I'm going to be telling people I'll see you next year. When people thought they were already in new year. Oh fuck. Yeah. So you've got a mess. They're like in a weird space right now into the day. Here's the beauty. You're about to get fifty minutes of Justin Thomas with four play crew. We grill them a little bit. We go through getting the bunker all that stuff. We get amazing stories from him when in a major championship shooting sixty three at the soap in being an absolute stud and the Ryder Cup meeting and playing golf Tiger Woods all kinds of stuff is in here. You're about to hear it. Justin Thomas here too. All right next up. We have a mega mega guest on this show. One of the biggest ever had. This is a big show. A lot of people are looking forward to this one. Welcome to the old thunderdome to to none other than JT Justice Thomas on fellas. So we really appreciate you taking the taking the time. "Talk about being a role model, when you talk about sitting sitting shining example of whatever does the sport of golf does individuals like yourself and others feel an added level of pressure to do just that considering what Tiga had gone through in previous years on a personal level. I get. I mean, you look at it anyway, you want. But at the end of the day, you know, we're all. You know, we think we all brand, you know, and that's something that's that's so it's what I love about golf is everything's on herself, you know, obviously players and basketball football, whatever may be. Yeah, they still have their own brand and they and they still need to perform well. But you know, they have other team, their team is their brand. Is there a whatever you know, company their their team is associated with. So for us, we have all these sponsorships. We have all these deals. We have, you know, people that were associated with what it's all us. So we just try to do the best thing that we can. I mean, obviously route out of the play golf and that's most important. But at the end of the day, we also need to try to grow our brand as well as we can and and kinda like what else earlier just do the best. We can to be someone that people up to. I mean, you guys have been placed them cessation golf about away PJ championship ratings, seventy three percent year over year. So that's a huge, huge plus for the sport and make no mistake about it. The one and only Justin Thomas is on the line with truly what's going on. Just our you, man. How's everything going. Are you? I mean, first of all, thank yous an honor to have you. I really, really appreciate it. Talk to me about what you know you win contention last week and at the PGA up to the end overall, what you happy with the way you played as the defending PGA chant. Talk to me about that. I was, you know. Experience. I've been fortunate enough to try to defend a couple of titles, but never a major and you know it was. It was great. You know, obviously the crowds were out there for tiger not exactly. I'm not even close to his stature, but, but it was really cool to get to play alongside him in ROY, those first couple of days. And you know, after not a great start on on Thursday, I felt like a really hung in there. Well, and you know, had a great chance to win that tournament through nine holes on Sunday. And you know, I was glad to see Brooks kind of run away with it and maybe feel a little bit better about myself. Those that may not understand just break down for me a little bit for the for the Gulf novices like myself who watch it, but don't really know it the way you have would the way to aficionados really know what, whether it's the PGA to US open a masters, etc, etc. I mean, when you go into a tournament like this, what's different about that compared not only of the majors, but just two other tournaments over. Overall, explain the difference from a competitor's perspective for those that may not get it. No, it's tough, but it the end of the day. It's kind of what I was telling myself. It's still golf, you know, it's it's very cliche, but it is true. You know, the lowest scores still ends at the end of the week, but it's just there's a lot more people to the majors have it just kind of have a different buzz in the air. I don't know what it is kinda hard to explain, but I mean, Humana people that are at these tournaments pretty pretty unbelievable. And I mean, golf is in a, the game of golf is a great state right now, and it's just continues to grow so much each and every year and it's it's pretty cool to be a part of. "Justin thomas speak i see i don't think dj wins only because he won last week tough to do back to back you know and you know it could be it could be a week for a guy like worry mcelroy who's who's been coming into his only simply yeah what is roy's problem lately harding yeah tying it always comes down to him the past two three years he's been switching potter's he switched putting coaches and you could see the last date the masters you know it's six hundred and our whole number two got what sixty for eagle and he doesn't make it and then from there on he shoots seventy four momentum downhill it it just comes down with him with his putter still can drive it the best in the world still could hit his iron but over four days a guy like speak or a guy like thomas guys that can really roll the ball you know i've been outperforming him to some greens you know well i'm really curious because i have played courses not many by the way no no course anywhere close to this one but the wind is the win the biggest issue yes wynonna length yeah what what they did at fortunately i don't agree with it i'm not a big proponent of the usda how they set up their courses especially for us open's and even our us amateurs you're seeing five hundred yard par fours you know you're seeing two hundred sixty yard par threes ridiculous but you know they get the fairways at shinnecock or a little more generous only because they added from which more length but when you get that wind blow in twenty miles per hour it makes a fair ways even smaller so if they get the steady long island montauk twenty mph winds everyday paul you know you're gonna see a lot of carnage i mean i hate to say that that's just the way it is casey that's what the us open is known for yeah all they love it you know the us.

"Two shot lead at nine hundred par over mark leash man who's now except pardon me seven under par henrik stenson alone third at five roy mcelroy jordan speed both at four under par through two rounds dustin johnson and justin thomas almost sounding like flips of each other's names each at three under par it goes down and down from there and honest to goodness i didn't even want to get into this in this hour but goodness gracious the fawning over tiger woods just needs to stop it just needs to stop there have been more stories about tiger woods coming back to the masters what's he gonna do how wells he gonna play about tiger and whether or not he was just vital to the game whether the game of golf could get along without tiger woods and the point i made was a it has for ten twelve years he was he was irrelevant he was not even playing golf did just fine golf did just fine there emerged entirely new group of young men who are handling themselves just fine they found their way without tiger woods with or without tiger.

"A thank you for the media on sunday night had on ika sorin standard at a grand mcdowell and a couple of others as well so yeah it is really goes to show you and it takes a lot of people to fill the shoes of of arnold palmer i don't know if if anybody really can do that yeah you're right about that and there were some other players that the war some of aren't arnold signature clothing to and uh you know goes to speak as uh a lot of people um have sad and realize that the there is probably no other athlete uh more respected by his peers and by other athletes is wells arnold palmer ever has been that's for sure uh we're only four weeks from the masters here and i know that's going to be a lot of your focus coming up here and uh we talked to just a bit yesterday about uh a couple of the people that you do not think should necessarily be the favorites and dustin johnson and justin thomas and why you think so yeah i know it's interesting because it's very easy withdrawal it's a lot of local beach were in a what have you done for me lately uh how are you play in right now you know it's so easy to jump on the bandwagon of players that are hot that i've won a lot recently but the way i look at it though jerry augusta national is a completely unique challenge to any other course another any other tournament each year and it's the kind of course where most winners have either had early success i'm the course like the jordan speed who was in the first in his first three masters was in the final pairing in all of this first three masters i mean you don't see that sat up that off and right uh but at least in the case of fiber watson won it he won his second the second masters she plate no charles schwarz one very early on in his masters career um of course tiger woods phil mickelson these guys had early success at at the nasser's right this each so it's either that or you've played the course many times here very you're very comfortable with it you know what i mean and and.
