"28th, 2022. I'm one of your host Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30. AKA. The second best baby blue is the San Francisco AKA the engaged one at Tim geddes. Tim post Greg, how was your Thanksgiving? It was good. It was in Chicago. It was stressful, bringing a baby all the way over there. Yeah. First time in Chicago. First time Benny went to portillo's first time he met him about the extended family. Yeah, yeah, yeah. First time he wrote a horse. First time he wrote a horse. I mean, we put him on top of it. Did he ride? You know what I argue? But he petted the horse and got on top of the horse. I have photos of him on a horse. He's only got a great time. But he got the flights, he got the thing, you got the naps, he got the wake windows, the food, the snacks, all the stuff. We mail out, you know, it was a thing, but it was good. It was nice. I was complaining about my wake windows. I mean, you've changed a lot. I have changed a lot. It used to be on the weekends, you'll sleep like one in the afternoon. You can't do it. I tried. Greg, I tried this weekend, like legitimately. I was like, I'm not getting out of bed until noon. I was out of bed at like 9 30. Got to work in the yard. Got to know the guy. Yeah, working together. Here's the thing I want to talk about. And I know you've probably talked about him on some Star Wars in review. Is the lightsaber reel is it fake? Was it in his mind? Nobody fucking knows. And so what's happening on the endor and or I keep saying if you guys like Star Wars, I'm like, I didn't like it. I didn't like the ewoks. I don't need a whole episode about it. But I appreciate it. Can we talk a little bit about her to single person make that joke? There's someone legit in our comments. I remember when you and I did the trailer reactions for the final really hype trailer. And someone was like, why does Barrett keep saying endor? The show is about casting. And I was like, and or is his last name? They unironically thought I was saying end or that's great. Your outfits have and so on points in studio launch. Thank you. And I appreciate that you haven't lost it. You know what I mean? You still are dressed in the 9s every day. They said that I would. They said that I didn't have it anymore, but I didn't got the stuff to break two things happened. Two amazing things happened in my life. I don't even want to set it up that way because I'm about to say this up. On the pandemic, what an amazing time for all of us. What an amazing time for all of what that allowed us as we were working from home. I didn't stop buying clothes the way that I've always bought clothes. Which is not often, but I'm still, you know, I used to do my people do back to school shopping. I would do my E three shopping, where it's like every year for E three, I would get a couple new outfits. My cool, this is going to help me write out the year or whatever. Sure. Still did that. We had three threes. You know what I'm saying? But you get what I'm saying. Sure, please. Summer game fast, whatever the hell. So I still got a bunch of clothes. On top of that, I've purged a lot of my closet. Nice. And for over the course of the work from home era. And I kept a lot of clothes that I'm like, I like these, but I've never been able to fit them. There's no chance. It's not even so much the clothes as much as it was just like, I like them and we'll figure it out. And then I just lost all this weight. Now I get to wear all those clothes. I'm back now I get to also have a reason to dress up from the waist down. Sure. And I'm like, oh, I'm about to go fucking hard. I have all these Jordans that I've never got to match with. It's a match, baby. Let's fucking do it. Look at that. Thank you.

"Your face was just like, I was like, oh no. Am I here? Am I? Girl. The existential question we're all asking ourselves, am I here? What just happened? What happened? Are you okay? My Internet went JK, you're not online. And then it came back. And I hear the show is intro and I'm like, oh shit, am I here? Fair enough, fair enough. And of course, Brittany brambach is here as well. Hello, hi, hi, hi, hi. Hi. So a little bit of context before we jump into the show this week. We are actually recording this week's episode a little late into the evening. We had a wonderful guest, Lucy James, join us for our God of War ragnarok spoiler cast, which is going to be posted the week of the game award so that'll be Friday December 9th when you can listen to that episode. But it means this week's regular episode is a few cocktails in. So I just want to throw that out there right now. We're having a good time. Yes, we are. And apparently Rihanna's Internet is not having a good time, so we will do our best to make sure that she is here and present for as much of the show as her Internet allows. On vacation, that's all. You know, it's Thanksgiving week. It's turkey week. Everybody's thinking about. Everyone's like. Look, she's got the football turkey and beer. It's all you need this week. I like how they look significantly larger from this angle. Good for you. Are you talking about the beer? My boobies. I mean, they look great. You want full screen? Oh yeah. Yeah. There you go. Oh. Yeah, girl. You got the illusion of curve? Optical illusion of a bra, let me tell you what, 'cause these babies are pointing south, but that's fun. It was worth my child for 8 months. I did it. We had a very interesting conversation ahead of starting the show about Brittany and I's breastfeeding experience and what it has done to our said breasts. And, you know, we understand why the concept of wet nurses exists. And that's a conversation for another time, everybody, because we want to say thank you to this one's Patreon producers. Cheers gods and Alex a gopel as far as he just approaching punk to fight. All who have been with us through way more ridiculous shenanigans already happened so far in this episode. So thank you to them for supporting us. And thank you to everybody at Patreon dot com slash what's good games who supports us here at what's good games and helps us bring our voices to the video games community to know that there are just not enough women in podcasts talking about video games. Surprise tragic amount. It's a tragic amount. Really sad, we spent a good 30, 45 minutes, a couple months back, trying to find all women ran video game podcasts that upload consistently and regularly. And there's literally none out there other than what's good games. And that is so messed up. There's a lot of reasons for that. I'm sure this is not the show for that because it would be a whole ass discussion in itself, but yes. Did your support means a lot to us, and the means a lot to a lot of other people in the community. So thank you to everybody who keeps helping us bring the show to you week after week, including turkey day week. Good gobble. Do you remember when we made those adorable little hand turkeys? I still have mine. I'm just throwing that out there. And I brought it out a couple thanksgivings ago, and my parents thought or someone thought it was made by my little cousin. I was like, no, that was made by me. An adult. You're like, I have a video that proves that I made it. Would you like to go watch it? And they're like, no, we actually wouldn't get enough. Yeah. But now you can have your spawn make one and it'll be there to look better than mine. That's the sad truth of it. Listen, I've never been gifted in the art of arts and crafts. It's just never a thing. Your Microsoft paint skills would like to disagree with you. You're right, you're right. I am an artiste. Direct descendant of Bob Ross. You just work in a different medium, paper is not your medium. Every artist has their medium and paper just not yours. And that's okay. Thank you. Thank you. I was helping you realize your artistic potential. All right, let's get into the news everybody. This week, Microsoft has apparently come a little bit more clean or open. I don't know what the word here is about the deal with Sony in regards to Call of Duty. So this story I feel like has been going on for months at this point. So y'all may or may not remember that Activision made a deal with PlayStation, a while back. I believe it was like circa 20, 13, 2014, right when PS4 was getting ready to launch. And how they decided they wanted to pay Activision to get Call of Duty exclusively on PlayStation for the next generation instead of on Xbox, because during the 360 era, Call of Duty was always doing their exclusive releases for DLC in early stuff on Xbox. They were bass. And then Activision's like, what have you done for me lately? Daddy Xbox and daddy Xbox like you want too much money. You're too expensive to take out on dates. And so they went, hey, SIE, what you doing tonight? And they said, it turns out we need a shooter in our portfolio. We'll pay you. And it worked out. This isn't doing it for me anymore. I just really want a history of the video game industry depicted like that. I feel like it would be so much more interesting to follow. It probably would be, even though I'd probably get some of my biz dev facts wrong and people who actually did the deals would be listening to me being like, that's not how that went.

Plus, I'm gonna be the very best like no one ever wants. I am just noticing your sweatshirt. That's really cool, isn't it? If you're not all in everybody. You got all he's got all the badges. Canto, baby. He's all the 8 canto gems. So here's the thing it was. Yesterday, I asked how I can catch them all. And how I can bring back my old cartridges, all right? So many people wrote in. Thank you for everything that you've done, because now I understand everything that I need to do. What is it to get into? This is the analog pocket. I didn't know what it was. It's just nice and personal. Dude. I've only seen pictures, holy shit. Oh, it's beautiful. It's absolutely beautiful. That looks incredible. I just turned it off instead of raising the volume on it. So there we go. There we go, Pokémon.

"That's right. Just juice it a little too much, you know? Stay at the charging station just a little bit longer so someone else can't charge. I'm going to charge up my call my new EV to a 120%. That's right. Or you just drive around the parking lot and park it back. That's right, man. Yeah, right? Just constantly. It has this like auto park and auto backup thing and I'm just going to do it all night long for no reason. That reminds me of how terrifying electric vehicles are that can self park because I was not myself. I was near the emergency room recently. And a father drove his Tesla up to the ER. Thankfully not through it. The Tesla didn't malfunction in that way. But he gets out. Picks up his ailing child and then he boops something on his phone and then the test is just no one in it. Just drives away. And then I was thinking, at the same time, one, that's pretty cool. I'll give him that. But two, maybe you don't have a self-driving car self park in the emergency lane area where ambulances may be coming in and out. Maybe other people in a panic may be coming in and out. People playing marvel snap while they're driving. No, that just makes perfect sense. I don't know what you're talking about. But this was a Tesla you said? Yeah, tessie. But you're going to test, you don't have to worry about other people. That's right. All that BMW bullshit has transferred over to Tesla's there. For me, it was Mustang. So I think I talked about people in most things on here before, but growing up, I really, really wanted a Mustang. And I don't know why. I don't even like horses. I'm not even a fan of horse. You're dirt bag years. That's exactly why actually that is a 100% water. Of course you wanted to, but you should go, you should go to the Mustang era like in the 90s when it was like real boxy and weird. Like before they grounded. That's what my brother had back when he was a dirtbag. The dirt baggy is Mustang you could have owned, by the way. That car came with a half a pack of cigarettes. It was just like, yeah, we've pre cigarettes like burned your seats for you. Oh my God. Yeah. I can smell it. It's right there. Yeah, right, yeah. Oh God, that yellow staining absolutely got to love it. Well, it's a shorter week like we said at the top like the set at the top there. And you know, it's a shorter week here in the U.S., so I just gathered three of us. We're just gonna chat about some games, perhaps some news, but first I'd like to ask the two of you, are you are either of you ready or the big day on Thursday? Are the dishes prepared? Are they eating prepared except for, well, my turkey apparently stalling my mother in law is bringing one down. She's also bringing a ham, so that's gonna be fun. But I was at the, yeah, I was at the grocery store, I was getting all the fixings that I need. I am ready to go, I believe, except for the either pumpkin pie or pumpkin cake that my wife makes. When you do a good stuff for that, pumpkin cake. And it's like if a pumpkin pie was a cake instead. So it's like the best of both worlds. At the front door. And of course you just put on an entire thing of cool whip on top of there. And it's very good. So as long as we get that taken care of, I'm going to be good. I'm going to be set. I did consider spatchcocking, like turkey. It works. I'm sure it does. I just don't know if I have the skill level. You just need either a really good knife or really good kitchen shears, and you can spatchcock that bad boy up and down its spine. Just rip it out. It cuts down something that is something I have to prep for or at least like a day before, because we do it during the voicemail time truck. I get started. Yeah, exactly. Just use your phone as your webcam that day. So you can take us with you. Sounds good. So we are hosting for the first time in four years. My wife has already already done like a test placing oh. Fancy. Yeah. It's almost like a live demo of what the actual dinner will look like. We are using China that I didn't know we owned. And that's cool. I know exactly what you mean holy shit. Why does that happen? Every day in this house. There's more? How were these come from? It was amazing. It was amazing. I was like, what exact where did this come from? Okay, so this year we're having 14 people. I thought you were going to say 14 turkeys. I'm like, that's a little excessive dog. And they're all for Marty. Assigned seats? Wow, you're doing this. Wait, do you have a kids table in the big table? Yes. Yes. All right? Thanksgiving. I came down like Sunday morning and I saw all I woke up around 9 and there was I walked into a scene in the kitchen with a bunch of crumpled up paper and a lot of chicken scratch on notepads and it was the it was all of the giraffes of the seating arrangement discarded until the final one. This is why you get a whiteboard. Yes, exactly. Do you have the QAnon corner? No. You guys spread it out. It wouldn't be a corner. It would be just more like a set of a table. A single setting. Okay. Totally. Hey, same here. Right? So that person will be eating in the garage. We'll just sort of pass the food under the door. Yeah, third kitty table, exactly. Exactly. In the morning to get to see before this whack a deal. You serve them in their car is what's going on. Yes, they join past the house. Yeah, and also just to prevent them from all the chemtrails. And also. Shit, it's crazy. This is really enjoying it. We've already got company in the house. So if I'm not as loud today, you know why? And yeah, it's a fine thing. I'm looking forward to it.

"What's up and welcome back to kind of funny games daily four Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, of course I'm Tim gettys and I am joined by the new face of video games blessing at IOA junior. What's up Tim? What's up, man? Kev, there was like more more than normal here on this. Anything we can do about that if not totally cool. On the move. He's on it. What's the Pokémon update for you? The Pokémon update is things are going great. Play until two 30 again last night. Plus Christ. I am all in. Oh, I'm tie dye, but I'm also itching for more. All right, I have beat the elite four how's that? I have beat the chant that looks much better. That's much better. Wow. Wow. From the control room, Kevin can control the focus. They're saying that my mic isn't sounding great. Less buster oh. Maybe let's do, I did bust out the polo. I talk about Pokémon. Beat the elite four, beat the champion, head to see my rival. Feeling real good about it. Let me tell you, I'm so excited for you to get further into this game. Do I sound good, Kevin? You sound great. Okay. Great, great. Hell yeah. And I like that you're taking your time too. Oh yeah. Because when you said you're up until two 30, I was like, you must have completed the game. Yeah. And hearing that you've only beaten the complete four and you're now going to go on to do more so. I'm like, oh shit. Yeah. No, I'm really taking your time with this thing. And you've entered, what I consider brain rot levels of my mind is the Pokémon. Oh, that's all that it is. I gotta catch them all blessed. I can't think about anything else. And I could not be happier. It could be a little less janky. You know what I mean? The brain rots rot in my mind. My mind is starting to run at like 14 frames per second. Well, that's the thing of like, it's weird what games in franchises will do that to you versus not because of course it's been review season. I've been playing quite a few review games. And it was that thing of, I never entered brain rot level of for God of War. God of War ragnarok I had a healthy relationship with. Like, yeah, I'm playing this game. I'm playing some hours. Actually, I did play a lot of hours. That's my thing. But it was healthy. The only 5 hours sitting. But it was never the thing of I am constantly thinking about God of War when I'm not playing God of War. I'm playing God of War. I'm fully immersed in it and in it, and then I put it down once I reach a stopping point. And then I go and eat lunch and I do the rest of my stuff, right? With both Pokémon and sonic. I entered your brain rot where I could only play sonic. But I was playing sonic. And we Pokémon, I could only play Pokémon and think about Pokémon. Like, live, eat, breathe, Pokémon. I mean, that's it. And especially with the anime stuff and with the cards, like I'm all in and it's, but it's a nice place to be though, because I think this is what you wanted for a while now with Pokémon. Oh, you've wanted to enter back into this place where you I'm just so happy. My tweet for the games cast today is something to the extent of like, I legitimately feel like I'm falling in love again with my first love. I was like 8 years old. And I fell in love with Pokémon. It was my world. It was everything. I was so invested in it. Like, it was, I mean, anybody that was in the 90s knows, but I was really, really into it. And then to live my life for decades after that and to still, you know, love it a lot. But it felt more like love at it like a friend. You know what I mean? I feel. Now it's like a passionate lover. Jesus, you know what I mean? And hey, love can be janky sometimes, you know? Love doesn't always run at 60 frames per second. And loves love doesn't matter at all. Honestly, that might be the truest love, is loving something despite its flaws. Exactly. Speaking

"AKA Tim mu fucking gettys. What's up last? How are you doing? I'm doing good, Tim. How's it going with you? Good, good. You know, a little mixed. I do want to start on a downer for a bit. I want to say rest in peace, too. Jason David. Digital green ranger. He died this weekend. It is very sad. He was influenced to an entire generation of generation. His contribution to Power Rangers to children everywhere is like, you can't measure it, right? Such a sad thing. I wanted to bring attention to a tweet from Tamar Hussein, who said one of the first characters I ever I remember becoming obsessed with for young kids, his arc was so important in showing that no matter what happens, you can always be a better person. Rest in peace, Jason David Frank. Rest in peace. Just wanted to start with that. It's a sad time for all of us right now. I feel like we're at this age where the heroes we grew up with are starting to go through things and leave us and it is very sad and especially in situations like we've been seeing unfortunately recently. Yeah. And then Kevin Conroy different situation. But with this, it's like, you know, just want to remind everybody that people are going through stuff at all times. Think about that, try to be there for them. And I tweeted this when the Aaron news came out, but it's like, be there for people when it's difficult, especially when it's difficult, because I think that when they make it hard, that's when they need it the most. Yeah. You know? Just wanted to, again, sorry to start her for a downer, but I do think it's really important. And it's really sad. I know a lot of people are feeling really affected by this. Yeah. 1000%. And yeah, even be there for people when it seems like everything's okay. Because you never know people's private battles. And that's when that was rounded of watching Black Panther again. Black. But one and Black Panther two of like, yo, man, Chadwick Boseman was going through it, right? And he was like carrying this character. Like being this hero for everyone, well, meanwhile, he's going through cancer, right? And going through treatment and struggling behind the scenes. And so yeah, be there for people, be good to people, remember that people might be struggling privately. And yeah. And as for help, understand the people around you want to be there for you. So it's like, don't keep it in. Don't stay quiet. Ask for what you need because there are things out there for you. 1000%. To want to lighter note, when are you going to hop onto the yerba mate train? I don't know. It's been a crazy year at the kind of funny studio. You know, I've never had it. I don't know what it is. Can you explain? It's like tea. Okay. Yeah. Okay. I would ask to try some, but in this COVID era, I'm just going to buy my own. But you know, I'll do that for you, because you know what I did? I don't want to go too long, and it's a conversation. I mean, I keep wanting to call it a talk because it looks trenta iced coffee is what I do. Last Friday, there was a lot of talk about these robot burgers that you like the squad onto. And I know this is going to be a big group. Outing, you're trying to get going for the next gen podcast and all that. Last Friday, I ended up going home a little early to download Pokémon and figure that out. And I was like, I need to get food on the way home, fuck it. I'm going to do it. So I did it. Yeah? You're right. Thank you. That's what I'm trying to say. Are the future. So I don't want to say, I don't want to see the whole story because I want to promote Patreon dot com slash kind of funny, next gen podcast, coming soon, plus we'll explain it all. But robots make burgers now. The robots make burgers at a really great price. And they're cheap. They're cheap because you don't have to worry about the human element.

"And game director for God of War ragnarok Eric Williams from Sony Santa Monica. Welcome. Hello, thank you so much for having me. Thanks for coming. Now, full disclosure, we're gonna spoil this game. So everyone should have played it. We've all played it, Eric, have you played it? A couple times. Okay, good. That's important. So yeah, you've been warned. If you haven't played God of War ragnarok, and you don't want to know what happens, then go elsewhere. Just run, run away. Go on. All right, you ready? You good? Okay, so wait, this is for ragnarok. I haven't played that much. All right. IGN gave it a ten. It's a good time. So yeah, just a good kicker question. Thor's hammer seemed like a pretty solid, cool thing to align with ragnarok, you know, Kratos has kind of a track record of stealing God weapons and then using them himself and he never uses it. Why? He holds onto it once. Yeah, that's true. You've got you there. But you don't get to use it. You get to run around and hit stuff with it. He's got the axe. Was that was that the reasoning? Was made to be the counter to it. Almost like the good and evil weapon, so he wields the weapon for just wields the weapon for tearing down the Giants and things like that. So we didn't have anything fitting that into Kratos would work very well. He also completely honest. I'll tell you what I told the team. And people will be upset about this and they can blame me, so if you see me on the street, we can get into it. But to me, it was too easy. It was expected. It's what people, you know, they could understand it, they could think about it. It wasn't going to surprise, but the weapon that was going to surprise was the weapon that we gave them. And the way this story is told on how he gets it, who he is. If you think about his weapons, like they've been bestowed upon him, his core weapons, like the blades, you know, they're pulled out of the river of lava and dropped into his hands, like the axis bestowed to him by his wife. So when that spear is made, it's for him. As his blood in it, you know what I mean? And he's his whole history. If you watch that scene, specifically, the blood comes out as the omega first, which is the old version of him, but the thing that really cements it is the symbol of Sparta, you know, that he has that just general. It's going to take care of business. So put a lot of thought into that. And you want to challenge your team too. I said, hey, we want to make the best stick ever. You know, they're all spirits will be judged against an AL, I'll be honest, I think I'd put ours up against any I've seen in a video game. The drop near spear was by far, once I got that, I had a hard time swapping off of it. It's just it's so fast. It's fluid. There's so many different utilities that you can use it for in combat. It's just great. In that moment was so just amazing. I literally wept like openly wept at that moment because it was just so powerful, Kratos opening up to somebody else other than atreus or Faye and was just very powerful. What was that, what was that like kind of like giving Kratos that moment to open up to somebody else? How did that kind of come about? I think it's just been a combination of his journey from 2018 to now. You know, he's been this guy and had to push everything down. He doesn't really have anyone around him. In the fake kind of started to bring that out of him than atreus really cracked the show within the 2018 greatest he lets the bandages go amazing moment and he talks to him and he tells him the story of his namesake and why he wanted to name him that and you start to see that creative thinks about these things. He's not just this one dimensional character and for me he's always been that way even go back before God war one. He's a husband. No means a father. He's a general he leads people. His city state respects him. So we wanted to have these pairings in this game where mimir and Brock became like his kind of like confidence like his buddies and then sindri and then the kids become a traces crew and you get these different points of view and when you start to look at them you go, oh okay that makes sense that they gravitate towards each other. So Brock being pretty gruff and have them almost both open up. That's what the moment is even more beautiful. The croc is all upset and criticism that calls them down. And you don't really see us do that. And we want to see usually people are trying to do the opposite or he has to temper himself. So I think it was just one of those moments in the writing room where you're sitting there and you're thinking about it and you're like, okay, we've got to make this weapon. How are we going to do that? And that was one of the very few scenes that I did any writing on. I trust the writers, but there was the way that thing was crafted, all the elements seeing the visuals, the blood, all those pieces. I really wanted. So that was, I wrote structurally. I didn't write a lot of the lines, but structurally how that scene was going to go. But it's a special one. I'm glad landed for you. Yeah, very much so. Yeah, more on the spirit. The way you talked about it sounded like it was always the plan to make it a spear is that the case where there are other types of weapons that were considered. Yeah, I mean, when we started early on in the, I would say the fall of 2018 and people were pitching everything. Obviously, mjolnir was on the table. But I really wanted to go back and show who he really was. And if he was going to leave these people to this war, I wanted to see that guy. The guy we never really get to see. And we saw a little bit of a ghost as part of it, and not a lot of people played that because the

"Potato. I saved the Tod. Anyway, thank you for having me Damon on this very special episode. I'm glad to be here. Asked to gate continues, I see. And this is a very special episode because it is catastrophic Scott. This is our 700th episode. Wow. 700 episodes of game scoop 16 and a half years. We like to joke that we're the only video game podcast, but I think there's a good chance we might be the longest running, video game podcast. I don't know what else is, you know, when I started this, there was like the one up podcast and I think GameSpot had one at the time, but I don't think either of those are still going today, so. I think retronauts has been around since 2006. Well, that would be fitting and believable. Yeah. Yeah. Well, the more small good company there. Anyway, 700 episodes will have some fun little party shenanigans to celebrate with, you know, just a little bit. But Jared, since you're here, over the last several episodes, we have a different fourth guest on every episode. We have to ask them their thoughts on the game of the moment. I think you're playing God of War ragnarok. Have you finished yet? Oh, I thought you were going to say Atari 50. If we're talking game of the most. That's the other game of the moment, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, got to work. No, I haven't finished. I'm still fairly early on. I haven't even hit the supposed kind of doldrum in the middle yet. I'm so early enough that I haven't run into that. And I, it's just wonderful, you know, boy, huge surprise. So do you see Santa Monica made a fantastic follow-up to their best game? Who could have seen that coming? There are criticisms to be leveled. I think people have leveled them. But by and large, this is exactly what you expect from a studio or the record of excellence, making a game that it's got down to an art form. Who knew when we played double dragon and karateka that one day we'd be playing a giant 3D story driven, double dragon and carotid. And I am really okay with that. Stab things and have drawn and repeat. And I'm in. Yeah. Speaking of stabbing things, you actually do, there's a new weapon in this game that you get for stabbing. And it's great. I'm saving all of my skill points only for that moment. Yeah. Okay. Had you not have that weapon yet Sam? No, but I've been playing for freaking ever. Are you doing like everything I'm trying to a 100% in? No, I'm skipping a lot of the, I skipped the side quest that just don't seem very interesting to me. But I'm at 28 hours in, and I'm not the final thrust of the game yet. It doesn't feel like. I've been doing whatever there's an open area I do everything in it. The game is so big. Yeah. I still am immensely enjoying it. One of my absolute favorite games of the year, I would be okay if it started to wrap up now though. 'cause I wanna play Atari 50. I would like to come in as part of team no button combo. I do think that I'm glad that it's there, but I do think Sam's criticism that it would be nice to have other ways to enhance your abilities that didn't rely so much on that. Yeah, I don't care about button combo. I'm not playing on this thing on the easy, unapologetically. I am just here to see what happens next. Whenever there's a move that's like, when you're dodging backwards from an enemy, press this, I'm like, I'm never gonna do that. I'm never gonna do that move. I can't keep track of all the moves I already have. And they're kind of damned if you do damned if you don't, because if all the skill tree was instead like, well, you do 5% more damage or like 10% more fire damage. That's also very boring and not very interesting. They did the interesting better thing, which is give you new skills and new abilities in new ways to express yourself through combat. But then it has the side effect of like, but I'm already like, I'm 20 hours into this game. I can't. You can't layer on another new thing on top of all the muscle memory I've already built up. So I have some kind of mixture. And this is not really a criticism, but it's just to point out that they also shake up the type of enemy so much that it's like, you can do all the upgrading you want, but then you fight this giant amoeba thing and have to kill this columns around it. And those start becoming like a really tough, it doesn't matter your skill tree is. It's like, it's a really specific series of attacks you need to do. So I think that's one thing. That makes it interesting. I mean, I think it's a good thing. It's just like it makes it so like, I don't feel like overpowered because I'm really good at my combos. I think this game has a lot more combat variety and encounter design variety that God of War 2018. And it's like it's one of my favorite things about the game is you can't really just be like, okay, another way of dudes, I'm going to defeat in the same way, like it kind of forces you to be a lot more dynamic in your playstyle. One through three, they used to always introduce them. They do that in this game, but I can't comment on it yet. But they would introduce late game weapons, but you start with the chains and you can power up the chain. So it's like, you power to change the power of the chance to change it. I really like the chains and then you get like a sword. You're like, I don't really want to play a sword game. Like the chains are what make God of War God of War. And so the stuff like that, I'm glad that the axe is really interesting and it is just a different type of weapon than the chains and I like them both.

A highlight from Sonic The Hedgehog Creator Arrested - Kinda Funny Games Daily 11.18.22

"Better strap in because the headlight today is Sonic the Hedgehog creator arrested oh my God. Just because you need Ballon wonder world? For resting him for his crimes? Let my man free. He did nothing wrong. Don't pull me on that, all right? We'll see if we can see when we get there. Welcome to kind of funny games daily, of course I'm Tim gettys and I am joined by the new face of video games blessing at aoya junior. They won't let me out. Oh my God. Here's a perfect storm of me and you being on this episode. I can't wait to talk about it. I can not wait to get into all the details of what happened to make the Sonic the Hedgehog creator get arrested. It's a long time coming. Yes, definitely definitely. Today, it's Friday, November 18th, 2022, the day that Pokémon violet in scarlet are out. People get to play. My copies downloading right now. I would say you haven't started yet? No, no. I'm excited for you to play this game. Yeah. Bear, have you started yet? I started it up last night and Sam, you called it, where it's like, no matter how great this game is, those first couple hours going to be real. It was a combination of it unlocked at 9 p.m. last night, and I was staying up to play it. And I was already tired by the time we got to 9, so it was one of those things where I got to the first battle after choosing your Pokémon. And then I just put my switch in sleep mode, and then I went into sleep mode. Yeah, you did, baby. Just push those first three hours. I even think the first hours of this game. And we know that, right? Damn and I are seasoned. Yeah, we've been around the block a few times. And I think the first hours of this Pokémon game thing stretch a little bit even more than the traditional Pokémon game, 'cause I feel like they're setting up just a little bit more. But once you push past it, 'cause that was my thing where I felt so much like I was going through the motions in the first few hours. I was like, oh, okay, here we go, another Pokémon game. But then you push past it, and it's like, oh, the motions are gone. Now it's just me exploring this cool Pokémon world. And we're going to talk about poverty. Labor Pokémon world. Yeah, we all live in a Pokémon world. But once you get in there, once you actually get into the flow of playing Pokémon scarlet and violet. For me, it was a magical experience. We're going to talk about how badly it runs and all that stuff. Again, which I think we're going to talk about for a while now. But play Pokémon scarlet and violet. If you're a Pokémon fan, play Pokémon scarlet violet. I don't want to go too long on this, and I know we're going to talk about news stories and all that in a second. But I want to give a shout out because I was thinking about this recently as I often do about the Pokémon theme song. The original one from the indigo league, all of that. Is it the actual, most iconic theme song of all time? The original Pokémon theme song. I am willing to bet that more people of all ages, whether they watch the show or not. No more words to that theme song than any other theme song. Oh, well, are we talking about words only? Lyrics only or just like theme songs in general. Annie, 'cause I would put, I would put The Simpsons up there. But The Simpsons theme song had words. No. No, it's just. Okay. That's really fucking iconic. I think they're comparable. I think those are in the same sphere. Yeah. It's good stuff. Recognizable. But you know what doesn't get enough love, though. There is one that would put above both of those though. Fresh prince. See, I don't know. I think that there's definitely an argument to be made, but I feel like that is not everybody. But not everybody is going to be Pokémon. At that point. Yeah, but I think that the size of the, I think Pokémon transcends more outside. Interesting. I mean, again, Pokémon is the number one entertainment property in the world. He's in the back. He's pacing back and forth. He's got opinions. I want to know what this guy is. He's just walking around. Why are you walking around on nimble bit out there? You guys were talking about being songs. And of course, I don't know what you're talking about, but whatever it is, I just wanted to come show me that smile, look at show me that smile. I love that. That's it. Plus makes an argument for fresh prince. Nick makes an argument for growing pains. That was great. That was fantastic. I do want to give two shout outs though, because of course the first Pokémon theme gets all the love. But shout out to the orange islands theme. We all live in a world because that was a banger. But then the fucking jodo themed, dude. Do you want to be a master? Is that that one? Oh my God. Yeah, Pokémon came with the themes. Everybody wants to be Matt come on. I think unequivocally, when you're talking about themed theme, like the changes of themes between seasons, I do think Pokémon is coded. I don't know if they're pulling out another animator or another show that has a better roster of themes than Pokémon. Yeah. Got me, I would need to think a little bit, but I feel like I could pull a couple that could fight it. Oh, somebody says Power Rangers. That's a good one. Yeah. Go, go. Yeah. And that the guitar song. We gotta find one piece theme as well. This might be an episode of shit list. We can find a way to do it. I love it. Today's story is include sonic's creator arrested. What the fuck is wrong with Pokémon scarlet violet and more because

"Today's show, The Game Awards nominees have been announced and I have Rebecca Valentine and blessing IOE junior here to talk about Pokémon scarlet and violet, which they have been playing. What's good, everybody, and welcome to another episode of the west good games podcast. Your source for a video game news commentary analysis and funny stuff every Friday. I'm your host Brittany Brown baker alongside Rebecca Valentine reporter. Hi gian. That's me. Hi. We have had you on the show a lot lately. And I love it. I absolutely love it. And of course, I think this is your first time on the show, blessing addio junior hosts and producer from kind of funny. Yeah, I believe it is my first time on the show. I'm very excited to be here. I am so excited. I'm not gonna lie. I was like, I need some people on the show this week who have played Pokémon scarlet and violet. I am clenching with the anticipation. We are gonna talk about that. Oh, bless takes a drink. I heard we can shake on this podcast and I got very excited so it was really funny before we started recording, bless is like, oh, we can have whisky on this show and I'm like, oh, hello, sir. I don't fuck around. And then he comes back with his classy ass. Like, just like the smallest poor, right? Because we're not trying to get too turned on this podcast. And then Britt bumps out the big old bottle. My sash. I don't even have a glass I just drink shape in the bottle. That's how I do. Incredible. I was absolutely incredible, powerful. Powerful. So bless, how is the new studio kind of funny? New studios awesome. It's been great to work in the same space as my coworkers and actually share a space, get to have jokes, get to have in jokes and actually be face to face with roger, who weren't there when I was working in the previous studio. That's been awesome, but I think even more so, the content has been so much more fun doing it in person. The podcasting on Discord, as you know Brit, right? It's a different beast, right? The things you have to take account for in terms of timing and waiting for people to go and possible technical difficulties that can happen to an exponential degree because you're working with your own Internet, somebody else's Internet, like all these different setups. And working in a studio where Barrett is running everything and it is just on me to sit down. Look at Greg. It just talk about whatever and vamp about whatever. It's been such a great difference. Oh man, I love it. And in room chemistry, 'cause I've been able to go inside the studio at what's good, maybe a couple times since 2020. And yeah, when you're in person, you get to make that actual eye contact. Oh my God. I'm not just making eye contact with my Logitech brio right now. I'm not actually looking at your faces and it makes me really sad. But now the studios bomb and bless, I don't know if I've told you, I think you are an incredible host, you do such a good job hosting kind of fun and games daily. I love listening. You're just absolutely rocking it. And Rebecca, I sang your praises a few weeks back, so you don't have to do it. No, no, blessing is extremely cool. I just pointed at you on the camera. No blessing is extremely cool. Are you guys I'm trying to figure out which way to point. I think yeah, I don't know. Imagine I'm pointing at blessing where y'all just playing at each other. Before we get into the show, I want to let you know that this month's Patreon producers are Chewy's godson alexopoulos, Ferris as he had Justin foshee, punked, Maddie Dre, and thank you retro Lake for joining us at Patreon dot com slash what's good games. And thank you to new podcast reviewer, damn. I don't know how to say your name, but as always, thank you for the 5 star review. It does help us in those Apple algorithms. So if you have a few moments and you want to say something nice about us, please do, if you don't have anything nice to say, fuck off. And this week's show is brought to you by factor 75 and honey, but we'll tell you more about that later because we have some news to talk about. So The Game Awards 2022 nominees have been announced, and I feel like this news has been out for a while, so we don't have to rehash everything, but surprising no one God of War ragnarok is leading the industry with ten nominations and the game of the year nominees are a plague tale requiem, God of War ragnarok, elden ring, horizon forbidden west, stray and xenoblade chronicles three. So before we get into some of the other categories, I'd love to hear from you too. What do you think about the game of the year nominees? Immortality got robbed. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, rev me and you are on the same page. I will join that page too. I'm kind of funny, right? When we were doing our live reactions and predictions for the nominees. As we were working our way toward game of the year, right? Because we're saving that for last. In my head, I was just like, please give immortality the props to deserves. Please give the props. And the fact that I got there and best direction, I was like, okay, let's freaking go. I'm all about this. Get to game of the year.

"Xoxo. AKA WWE superstar AKA Greg Miller. Hello, how are you Wilson? Doing good, Greg, how are you? I am great. I went to my desk today and guess what I find. You? No. The championship show if you for a few because of course I am the current reigning kind of funny champion. How are you? How long do you think you're gonna keep it? Now that I had know that there was a trophy on the line, I'm never letting go. You know what I mean? You can go. I'll start cheating. We'll see. Speaking of Greg and Patreon content, I was thinking about you today. Thank you. The only thing I don't think you can bear it. I don't think you have that facility just to do that. I was thinking about you because I was thinking about Greg way. And I wanted to ask, how's Greg wade going? Of course, that is your daily vlog that you put up on Patreon dot com slash kind of funny games. That's not funny. One of the 38 exclusive episodes of content you get over, monthly on Patreon dot com. This is good at. All right, it's been going great. You know, I think when we started it, Tim pitched it to me. I was like, yeah, that sounds great. He's like, it'll be a lot. And it's actually been a fun little relief. You know what I mean? Or like a little release, I should say not really. Where I don't do much solo content, I kind of funny, right? So it's nice just to talk into a camera and have that conversation with the audience. And sometimes yeah, it's a crazy personal story. Like portillo, sometimes it's me asking for a podcast recommendations, other times it's just a recap of what has happened here today and why that was crazy and what's been going on. But it's been super nice. Like I said, I complimented you in that one episode. But which episode, I don't know anymore. That I thought was the episode and then I got to the end of it and I was like, there's no compliments here. Can you talk about me? You know what I mean? Yeah, it's been nice to have that one on one common conversation with the audience again. Hell yeah. Yeah, when we first discussed it in our meetings, I was like, oh, that sounds like a lot. I wonder if Greg's going to keep up with that. And then I have missed one yet. I listened to the episode when we were talking about Internet trolls and how do you have the time to be a troll, right? Why go out there and do that? And I'll say, and I was like, man, this is actually pretty good content. I'm actually really enjoy really enjoying this and takes me back a little bit to the voicemails you would leave for Andy and I don't know if that's the thing you're still doing. But if you don't know, I lost a legal case against I can't say one of my employees. I lost a legal case against. And so I've been now leaving voicemails for a characters from fictional things. I've only done it once, but it's him Robin's character, Andy dufresne. All right. Well, there you go. Greg, we got a lot to talk about. So we do. Enough about that. "Wednesday, November 16th, 2022. I'm one of your host blessing at Ali junior and I'm joined by the la Croix poppy himself, AKA my fellow Forbes 30 under 30 AKA, Tim, my fucking gettys. Bless Anthony carboni is a fantastic man and even better person. But what's the word? Well, there was no butt. There was a slight butt. The slight butt is that I wish that he was more similarly sized to me. Because no. No. Similarly sized, like height wise or body. Yeah. I love being able to do more height, you know. I love being able to look at Anthony and carboni in the eye and be like me and you are brothers in ours. Funny average height men. I value 8 three carbones. So much above average. When I saw what I met him for the first time at The Game Awards, we were doing like a game ward after party type deal, right? And I see this man walk up. And I'm like, you are the most swagged out most charismatic, attractive person, and you're my height. That's why I'm talking about Anthony carboni. I fucking love that. He's got a rep us. Somebody's got a rep was correctly. I love that so much. I love that you immediately took it that direction. 'cause where I was going with this is that I've known Anthony a very long time. And if there's one thing that me and him know about each other, is we both have a love of dope jackets, right? And I wish he was more similarly hiding to me. I mean, I can go down, you know what I mean? I can be your level. If that would help you. Are you trying to share jackets with Anthony? Is that often for one reason or another, gives me his jackets? Whether it's two of them or it doesn't fit him too well. Oftentimes he gets a jacket, it's too big for him and then I get it. But the problem is, I feel like there's a size in between us. So I rarely get, even if it's bigger than him, it's not the right level of bigger than him. You know? So it results in me wearing dope jackets like the one I'm wearing. It's just a little tiny. A little tight. It looks good from where I'm sitting. It's good. What are you talking about? Honestly, looks perfect. Perfect size. It's a little bit above the waist. Yeah, when you're stretching, that's a little bit above the waist. Honestly, sometimes that's a good, that's a good style right there, you know? Honestly, yeah. I like clothes that fit. Fit real tight. That's a good look, too. And honestly, Tim, I'm digging this. You are swagged out. You look great, too. Later today, over on YouTube dot com slash kind of funny talking about screen and or at 1130 a.m.. Let me tell you, I've not told Greg this. But I've been dressing up whenever he's on the show, right? So I can make him look bad. I've been dressing hard. When he's on kind of funny games, daily. And he calls it every single time. He's like, oh, man, bless, you're coming in every single day, looking great. And I'm like, you don't understand that I'm playing the long game. I'm making you feel bad about yourself. Because you're Greg Miller, I don't need you to be all high and mighty, right? Knock you down a few pages. But then I come and I sit with you and I'm like, damn it, I need to bring, I need to come correct. I appreciate it. I appreciate that. It's been three years of working from home. That hasn't stopped me from accumulating the drip. I got more jackets and more Jordans than ever. Now I get to wear them all because this because this is kind of funny games. Before we even get into that, I want to give a shout out. A happy birthday. Does shigeru, Miyamoto? What's 70 years? He has 70 years old years old, a legend, a true legend, man. There are very few people in the industry. I mean, I know that we're talking about me about it. I almost don't even say this. But what I want to say is I've been in this industry a very long time now. And I've been around a lot of people met a lot of people been in awesome situations where we've got to meet celebrities every level, essentially. I have never seen people react around someone the way the games industry reacts when Miyamoto's in the room. People turn into children. Instantly. But it's like they're the most respectful children. It's the weirdest thing. It's like God is walking to the room. It's like revered this man, but everyone should start this whole shit. Be cool. Just be cool. And it's so funny, because it doesn't matter how rambunctious people are, how charismatic people are. They just chill. They're just like, I'm going to follow his lead. What type of day is it? What type of day is it? Is the reverse gift, or is it the gift? I'm going. But anyways. Funny enough, I saw a post on reset era the other day. That was like, so what was up with Mario Super Mario Brothers? Give me the lay down of what made this game special at the time. And going through the thread, right? It was a lot of people being like, oh man, it was a step forward, like graphically, it was incomparable to anything that came out around it, right? It just stood out. It looked good. I played better. It had secrets. I had a scrolling screen. I had all these things, right? And as I'm reading through these, I'm learning a lot, obviously, because I wasn't around around the time the Super Mario Brothers came out, so I didn't get the actual cultural context around that. But even still, my first time playing through Super Mario Brothers, the original one, was through Super Mario Brothers deluxe on the Game Boy. Yeah, that was my first time actually playing all the way through that game. And let me tell you, even playing that game in what? That was maybe early 2000s. Even when I was playing through that game then, even then I was like, this is fantastic. I love this video game. A game that can stay in the test of time like Super Mario Brothers, like goddamn. I mean, a game that can stand the test of time like Super Mario Brothers and then be upped so much to the levels of Mario three and Mario world in such a short period of time. It is just absolutely incredible. And then not only that would just have my Mario. Like we're talking about the man involved with Zelda with pikmin with star Fox. It is insane. The contributions that he had to video games from software from a hardware level every single thing. I am lucky enough that I've met him a couple times now. But I've said this many times in the shows.

No, it was very it was a lot. You have to do it like this. Yeah, we had a farmer on the street. Can you put me in the box, please? Can you get me out of here? Put me in the box. And Brian altano, who's going to roll his eyes at all of us saying all these things. I'm in a little box, it's fun. How are you guys? You were very bad and we put you over there in the corner. For those of you this is the show in podcast for Brian is not in the same room as us, so. That's right. I'm in jail station right now. And it's great. There's no games. I hate it. No, it's good to be here. So we have a very exciting show coming up next week. Not to say this week's show is an exciting. It's very exciting. But next week's is way more exciting because we had Eric Williams, the director of God of War ragnarok on to talk about the entire game. We didn't cover the entire game. It's a very long game. It's only like an hour long podcast show, whatever you call it, but we talked about everything spoilers and also beat that game so you can tune in for that because it's really cool. He told us a lot of great secrets. Again, keep an eye out for that next week. Right now though, before we get into it, we're going to be talking about the PlayStation 5 and it's second anniversary. We are going to be talking about how next year is already pretty crazy for game releases and we found some really weird shovelware we're going to be looking at. But the PlayStation 5 is two years old. Before we get

"That's Jeff grubb's new catch phrase. That's right. Every time every quick look, every feature I was going to sign in and sign out, baby. My new catch phrase is, I actually didn't play a marvel snap while driving. I'm sorry. That's why you catch race. That's right. It's right, a little bit long in the tooth, but you know what? But listen, I think it's really gonna stick. It's really gonna stick. Speaking about sticks, you know this guy, 'cause hockey sticks back a lot. You know this guy because hockey sticks? Come on. I mean, the whole personality. Okay, if I went to a giant bomb person and a fan, a community member, presented them a hockey stick, I'm gonna say high likelihood that they will think of you. I know, and maybe you're right, maybe I have painted myself into a bit of a corner with the whole honky thing. I get in a corner. It's not very popular in America, because all Americans are stupid, but also, you know, Jeff grubb, there was something I wanted to bring up that occurred to me this morning. I want to hear it. If you let me out of the floor for just a 2nd October 26th, 2022, Devils played the red wings. We all know how that happened. We're aware. We all know the bets that were lost. The dreams that were shattered. What are we doing here? What are we doing? You know, grub goes an hour private Discord. We're all the cool giant bob kids hang out. He said, Jeff, the red wings may never lose again. And then obviously they let up like, I don't know, 48 goals in that game. The funniest part of all that ladies and gentlemen, the very funniest part of all that from October 26th, to today. Listen, we don't have to. There's been a team that hasn't lost. But it wasn't the red wings. It was the New Jersey Devils. They haven't lost the game since grub said the red wings may never lose. Now look, it's crazy, a thank you. Yeah, you're welcome. This is my fault. 100% is. You did this. It's very possible Devils lose tonight who cares it doesn't matter. They want so many goddamn games in a row. It's like they're really good. They get got real good this season. I think you're right there, but we're overachieving a little bit. But there went in a lot and they're going to keep winning, I think, so. I don't want to make a meal out of this just in an appetizer, if you will. I'm very happy for you. Red wings. So it's not what I want out of you, Jeff. I just wanted to this is more of like a little aside. I don't think they play games like let me introduce Michael first and then. Speak about meals. We got a whole ass snack right here. My boy, Michael heim. Hey, what I do, baby, repping the scions today because that's my gang. You know, I want to talk about Final Fantasy 14 today, right? I mean, it's like in your contract. Yeah, yeah. Cut the check, baby. Let's get it. Okay, but hockey, please, please. We're not going to talk about how good the real. Well, thank you. What we will do real quick, I think after eternal darkness, I think the next step is something that grub and I should do with maybe NHL 23. What about that feels right? Is that like the peacock game right now? Is there a better one? Oh, it's the only one. The real game there. It's fine. It's fine. They've gotten okay. They've got that game is perfectly a game. Does rocket league still have hockey pucks occasionally? 'cause that could be fun. Yeah, but I don't think people play it. I showed my kid that and he was like, what are you doing? Yeah. I mean, even the basketball version is not super popular, I feel like. No, no, in rocket league. I'm just saying. But we'll figure something out. I would love to after I finish eternal darkness. At this rate, I don't know, February. We'll go. We'll go and we'll figure out a cool NHL 23 gimmick that we can partake in. That'd be great. I like it. Let's do it. Awesome. Other than hockey. How's everyone doing? Michael, I was a ruined through the SF extra life archive. And I was like, damn, oh boy, was here for like half the time. It was put in work. Just for hanging out. I don't know if I say anything. But it was fun. I was telling Jan earlier. I think it's probably my favorite thing that happened all year. I mean, like cool shit has happened all year, right? You're my favorite thing that's happened this year. Aw. Shit, well, I'm right here. I'm like 5 minutes away, baby you can come through any time. But like we said, after the shit, it was like, it's a house party. That's what it felt like. And you know, surprisingly, see a lot of folks I didn't expect. Like, Moises came through. The boy Moises Tavares, plot the no ranger. So that's in Jess Howard came through. It's just like, yeah, it reminded me of the good times that I had doing extra life with GameSpot back in the day. And just like all the bullshit that we used to do in the office, but also damn, that RV office is, it feels like a ghost town now. Very sparse. Very sparse. Still need to find my shit. Yeah, actually. Right away. Wait, wait. Wait. What? I remember, I have a vision, I don't know where I saw this. Okay. Got my standard? Huh? You found my shit? I don't find your, I don't know where you should. But Jan.

"I'm one of your host Greg Miller alongside Forbes, 30 under 30. AKA the future classic video games. AKA the okay beast blessing at yo Ye, junior. What's up, Greg, how do you enjoy your donut this morning? It's fantastic. Hell yeah. You came through with a night that was a nice pumpkin donut, a pumpkin spice. Very appreciative. Very appreciative of it. Of course, then we have a whole bunch of G four former people in the office, and there's a whole bunch of donuts out there as well. Yeah, I brought in the 24 pack of donut holes this time. Love it. And I was met with donuts already here. And I was like, well, this is a waste. I had your donut that I paid for and then I had the freedom from the XG four, 'cause there's like multiple dozens of donuts out there. And I'm gonna eat them all. I just put my 24 pack of donut holes next to it. And like, no offense to Christopher came. I love Christmas tree, but I don't know about Krispy Kreme donut. Donut holes are stacking up again. So this is a variety of there's a follow-up to Greg giving you the $20 crisp $20 bill. Correct. So how many more do I get to do? I did do the math. So you gave me, of course, a crisp, $20 bill. I shared it. When I came from, I looked at the receipt and it said, it costs $2, 19 cents. And I did the mental math. And I believe that means after this, when I owe you 8 more donuts. Okay, fair enough. I appreciate that. A baker's dozen. Are you going to tap out? Do you think by donut number four? You'll be like, actually, I'm tired of doing donuts. No. You don't think so? What? No. What? Krispy Kreme every day. And I said once a week, I didn't say. I didn't say. I'm young limber. I run on sugar. I feel like if you suddenly brought me 8 donuts in a row, you're like, and I'm done. And that would be a violation of the deal we've already struck up. Once a week. I gave you the 20. And I said, can we see it once a week? We did say once a week. Oh, I forgot about the once a week part. I was gonna go like, what if I can knock this out in like a week and a half? No, no, no. Long play this, brother, don't worry about that. Maybe I'll do a recurring calendar thing. That's what I'm gonna do. What day do you feel like is a donut day for you? I like the days that were on ice. Personally, I like a surprise. Which I know puts more work on you, 'cause then you need to remember, but I'm also never gonna be offended if you slip a week. Okay. And that's not gonna be a thing. It's always more of all cool, donut, that's exciting. That's a refreshing. I like that. I think that the thing that you're relying on right now is the fact, is the idea that I'm gonna want to go to Christopher enough to then, of course, get you a donut. I feel like this is a new thing for me. Me going to Krispy Kreme is a very new thing to me. Of course. You look at the McDonald's line and if the McDonald line is too long ago. That's right. Exactly. That's what I go to Krispy Kreme. Here's the pivot we could do. If you're at McDonald's I want to take an egg mcmuffin, don't worry about that. They're more than two 19. I'll tell you right now. Okay, yeah. But then you could also, if you want to factor in, I'm never going to say no to a cup of coffee. We talked about the 20 bucks once a week don't it. If you want to change it over to 20 bucks, the coffee and you buy me a coffee every day. Pretty much 7 11 in coffee, which is just 11 coffee. 7 11 coffee, I don't mind. This is kind of funny coffee from the keurig machine that roger says he cleaned, but the de scalar solutions right next to it still unclean. It's terrible. It's awful. I don't know what I'm going to do. I might have to buy a real coffee pot because it just might have to just throw that keurig going in a new car. I don't know. Because koh Greg bought a bunch of pods. Nick is over there. He can't hear me, but he's have you thought about getting into tea? I'm not getting into tea. He's not trying to push the tea. When I first woke up this morning, it was fantastic. It's refreshing. Not too many British people. I don't need to be refreshed. Injected into these veins. All right, you understand? Do you understand? I'm already planning what I'm doing on the kind of funny podcast today, and it's going to be a scene, brother. All right? It's going to be this thing. Kind of bunny podcast is going to open in a way you never seen before, ladies and gentlemen. In a way few people have ever seen. Why is there a third chair here? Ladies and gentlemen, there's a third chair here, of course, because guess what? A whole bunch of our friends used to work at G four and then G four was unceremoniously closed. So thanks to the power of Twitter when we were all saying, oh man, that sucks. Well wishes yada yada. One of the kind of funny best Friends was like, well, you guys got a new studio. You should probably just invite them up to have a reunion show. And we said, you know what? That's a great idea. And so behind the scenes, Tim Joey have been working with Danny ree and a whole bunch of other G four people to have them come today and have a celebratory. Hey, let's say goodbye. Let's say goodbye the right way. Let's have a nice little thing and reflect on the cool thing that was G four for the past year. And so that's happening as the stream right after us, of course, you can watch a live twitch.tv slash kind of funny games. YouTube dot com slash kind of funny games. You can watch it later on YouTube dot com slash kind of funny games, but blessing.

"All right, we're already live, not live. Oh, we're not doing this live, but sup, everybody, this is Kirk with ACG and I'm here with silver ridge, abzi and Johnny for the best gaming podcast. I'm not going to say the number because I forgot to look it up. We have a ton of stuff I want to say thank you. We had 100,000 over a 100,000 comments and votes on the polls for this. It was a huge turnout, probably because The Game Awards and Black Friday posts. We're going to cover that. We're going to cover some patron corner stuff. If you are a YouTube member, remember you can join the Discord and also if you are thinking of becoming a member for today if you become a member or you join the patron, I will donate half back. So if you were to be a patron at $10, I'll donate $5 in your name, or an ACG's name, but it'll be your name. To a vet association up to a $1000. We're going to donate anyway, but it does help people, especially in the shitty times. So everybody's doing Black Friday, a lot of homeless people consider Black Friday that true term. Like Black Friday. It's the most depressing day of the year for them. They're seeing people roll out like 7 TVs and they're sitting there like, I don't have a place to sleep. So I always like to donate during the year. So this is an awesome time to do it. So if you join up, do a super chat. Also on the comments when we post them. I believe you can do super chats there. We're going to be discussing game awards, but we're going to do it pretty lightly. We're going to be discussing some changes I want to The Game Awards, the genres, and the way they're presented to make them a little bit easier for people to digest, especially after seeing this year. And we're going to talk about Black Friday deals. We'll probably start there. Amazon code, if you use the affiliate, it does help YouTube my channel in particular, sorry, ACG. If you use the affiliate or use the epic character ACG? Yes. Thank you. You know what better than me? That group's a point. But if you use those, it does help the channel. I appreciate it, but you don't have to. I will be throwing these links in the description as we talk about them so you should be able to check in the description wherever you're listening to this. We're going to try to find some deals for you guys that are worthwhile. These will not be random bullshit things. So in fact, we'll just have a veto power. If we all hear think somebody's ideas just complete bullshit, we'll just be like, nope. Great. But we are really trying to find somebody some cool stuff. So before we start that, I do want to say, these podcasts are slightly changed their format. They're more of a celebration of fans and gamers. We will have guests. We had Joshua Davidson, Brandon, I can't remember his last name, and I pronounced it wrong last time, but Brandon Freddie. Miller, but I think it was molar. It was Miller. It's Miller. Okay. Two great guys from gearbox. We talked about audio. We had David Martinez from raffia games. We've had Victor David Martinez was in particular really awesome. Gave us a ton of data about what goes on behind the scenes, and that was just, that was phenomenal because he's open. He was just like, this shit went bad or this, you know, that was awesome to have. But what I'm getting to is the reason why it's us is because these are my Friends. They're not influencers. That's not the type of podcast this is. It's about game fans, which includes you. So well, I hope you enjoy it. Let's begin. First up, I want to do some patron corner. I'm going to flash some pictures up here. Boom. You guys probably can't see you can't see it 'cause I'm not flashing it to you guys, but anybody watching can. That is Benjamin. He's one of our patrons, and that is New York Times. If you look close, New York Times saying this was very good. He is works at a bar. I believe he's a bartender slash bar manager. If that's right for Benjamin, it's hard to know what he does because he's always in there talking about random shit. But that is just a celebration of him doing very well and somebody at The New York Times noticed. And then I wanted to show you guys a picture that penty took. Well, you guys can see this if you go to the Discord right now into the creative corner section. It took a picture of a squirrel and he's starting to mess around with affinity. And it was awesome to see somebody else talking about affinity because if you use Photoshop, you know, use Adobe or paying those monthly things. And I got to tell you guys, if you're not using affinity, man, you are losing money monthly. Affinity is the greatest replacement for everything

"Sup, everybody. This is Carrick with ACG and I'm here with David Martinez from raffia games. David's been on two or three times in the past. We're going to talk about old stories, new games, triple-as, double-as, Indies everything. We've got abzi, who's always here, thank God, because if abzi hadn't showed up, we would have been a small podcast because Reggie DMed me. He's like, dude, I'm dying. I couldn't get ahold of silver. I think Reggie was just tired. Yeah, it said he was exhausted. Johnny is also here as always, thanks to Johnny for showing up for the last couple of weird podcasts we've done as well. We did a music based podcast where we had Joshua Davidson from borderlands, as well as Brandon. I'm going to forget his last name. Shit. One of the nicest guys in the world. Brandon Mueller. Mueller. Yeah. Right. 'cause it was spelled one way pronounce the other. I remember. Two audio guys from gearbox and we talked about borderlands audio and all that kind of stuff is great. If you guys follow the channel, give it a thumbs up wherever you are. We're on Spotify for video. Also, we have changed the YouTube membership. I know people have been asking for a while on the honest truth is I don't really trust YouTube very much, so I like to sort of not be connected to YouTube. But I looked into the membership program and we've now got it tied into the Discord for patrons. So if you become a YouTube member for whatever reason, you should get everything a Discord person gets. It's slightly different price because of the way they do things. But you should be able to jump into our Discord, talk to people in the Discord, all that kind of stuff. It'll have your own special like YouTube membership Endo vault is one of our first and it showed the proper tag. So if you guys want to do that to support the channel, I appreciate it. And to also support it, check out miles Morales PC. That came out, well, wait, it comes out today, I think. My review came out this morning. And I want to start real quick with a discussion, do you guys view ports as anything lesser than the original? Because I don't, but I get that all the time. When people are like, well, why did you do a review for a game that's a year and a half old and it's coming out to PC, and I'm like, well, why would I not? Well, there's a whole contingent of people that never played it that don't have the sporadic. They don't have PS4s. Right. So it's a new full game for them. Yeah, I don't. David, do you notice that when you're doing, I don't know if you guys have done a game where your port came later, maybe, maybe that hasn't happened. Okay, it has. It's pretty common, especially in my part of the industry, right? Like the kind of smaller indie publisher side of things. Absolutely common to have the game come out on PC first. And then a roguelike or something, you know, there's a balancing involved. So you get that all set up and you get that tight, and then you finally port it to console. Because I mean, you guys are probably aware of course that getting the game onto console from PC is not the easiest task. certifications that you have to go through on the back end for whichever platform you're going forward, whether it's Xbox or PlayStation or whatever. And so because of the time constraints and because how much more it is involved to get games onto a console, it's really common to just, you know, iron out the bugs, on PC first, and then move everything over. But I don't think it's, I don't think a port is a lesser version of a game. In fact, I think it's wonderful that we're starting to see Sony exclusives. I guess that would call them time to exclusive, right? Coming to PC, right? You have uncharted on PC now. There's like a whole generation of people that haven't even played the older in charge is now they're easily accessible on PC. Miles Morales coming out today. These are like, these are like Sony's top bangers, right? They're like the upper Echelon. They look great on PC. And also, like from the business perspective, that's a lot of money that was just being left on the table by not bringing these titles over to a whole new audience. Yeah, especially after COVID right with the uptick on PC sales, so many, so many new people got it. So I think that also kind of sparked an interest in importing them over. Oh, go ahead, David. I was going to say also there is kind of the idea that PS5 hardware is still a little limited and not as easy to get still. So why wouldn't you want to kind of broaden that audience after the time to exclusivity passes away of course? You do need to give your install base your largest biggest fans like those big titles first. That's why they bought your hardware, right? But after a while, like, spread the love. I think also like abzi said in the past it would be because they bought your hardware and now with the PS5 being somewhat limited and Xbox was for a long time. That Sony looked at the writing on the wall and was like, listen, this could happen at any time. So why don't we do this? And Nick sees they bought nixies and that's their port company. And I got to say, man, those guys, you know, I would rather smash my nuts than play a game by Nick sees in the past. I mean, that's just the honest truth. It was nothing but frustration. And yeah, just like buy a third nut just to be able to smash something without it affecting my sex life. And I gotta tell you, wickedly improved. And hats off to that. I'm not saying somewhat improved. I'm saying this is like a whole other group of people making these F in games. And miles man, I had forgotten miles hat.

Unpacking the Apple vs Epic Ruling

"Versus epic. We kind of got the ruling after the whole lawsuit. We've talked about it before epic suing apple because they made them take out button that was leading people pay on third party site in apple. Obviously with their iowa store in their thirty percent. Cut doesn't want that to happen. so kind of is like Win lose lose more. Even though that's three parties there's only two parties associated. This seemed like everybody was not happy yet. Kind of kinda sorta so pretty much. The judge ruled that they're not being anti-competitive they claim. Success is not illegal and both apple and third party developers like epic have symbiotically benefited from ever increasing innovation and growth from the ios ecosystem. Fair feels pretty fair now they did also though and this is what kind of is a lose aspect for apple is that they They ruled there for permanent nationwide injunction blocking apple not only from keeping iphone users in the dark about alternate ways to pay but potentially allowing developers to stick their own purchase mechanisms into apps. So that's a win for developers. I'm yeah so initially that one rule that Epic was pretty mad about was that in-app purchases had to go through apple's payment method which automatically took a thirty percent cut and the argument was. Why should there be an only apple at purchase that there should be other options to be able to have our own in-app purchase methods. Should be offer alternates. Maybe some of them are cheaper because they don't have to go through a thirty percent cut from apple and this ruling is that apple will now need to allow other purchase methods for in-app purchases and there's a little bit of they're not quite sure how this is gonna work. What constitutes a button inside it and stuff so that'll be a little weird but so the reason epic doesn't really win on. This is because the way they started. This whole suit was by adding that and the judge also ruled that it was a breach of the contract and apple is allowed to continue to knock basically let four-night back into the not. Give them back their developer account. So while you are there blocking that and you will potentially be able to put a button in for this kind of skirting. The rules epa can't because they're not allowed back in apple store epic knew what they're doing when they broke the rules so developers win apple kind of loses epic really loses. Because they're not back on the ios store and they also had to pay some sort of a fine because of the money that they made in that process of breaching the contract. So that's super super. Te'o dr version of a all have links in the description. So you can read the full thing. It's super interesting But yet it's been going on for a long time and yeah it also seems like it's far from over anytime there's just like all right another year of like back and forth between like researching each other so that is a still developing but that's at least some development

Apple vs Epic Games Lawsuit: Apple Must Allow Other Forms of in-App Purchase

"Us judge yvonne gonzalez rogers came back with her ruling in the epic games versus apple fight on friday her decision to seen by most as a win for apple. Not an outright win. More of a. It could have been a lot worse win. Basically apple has to lead developers put buttons and links and their apps to take customers to third party. Payment options effectively says a piece from tech crunch. The judge has ruled that apple cannot prohibit developers from adding links for alternative payments beyond apple's app store based monetization remember the deal apple made with lawmakers in japan for outside payments for reader apps. Yeah this is basically that but for every app that wants to take advantage. According to the ruling apple can no longer stop developers from one including in their apps and their meta data buttons external links or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms in addition to end up purchasing and to communicating with customers through points of contact obtained voluntarily from customers through account registration within the app. Not what apple would have wanted but again could have been worse. The app store might have been deemed a monopoly. It was not according judge gonzales rogers while the court finds that apple enjoys considerable market share of over fifty five percent and extraordinarily high profit margins. These factors alone. Do not show antitrust conduct. Success is not illegal with that bart apple was

League of Legends Patch 11.18: Full Notes and Updates

"Main topic for tonight guys patch eleven eighteen now right is calling this world's patch part one because the world championships are going to be on eleven nineteen so this is like preparation for it. Oh i forgot to highlight. There's an pen to kill album. Go listen to if you like metal. It's great it's actually hit or miss but it's metal so i'm still going to be like it's pretty good anyway eleven eighteen. We're gonna highlight little more than usual. But we're still gonna highlight some of the changes that either we think are going to be impactful or we want to explain because some of them are not clear at all. And i'm gonna kick it off with one. That is unclear because we had to have a discussion about it to work out. What the hell riot was even saying. This change was and that's phys the some of these changes are pretty straightforward. Fizzle does less damage just period. Ratios down its base. damages down. does less damage is passive is twice as strong against basic attacks as it was before. That's the flat damage reduction. He gets that means specifically does not serve minions doesn't say just says basically thais anything that isn't a basic attack is still at the same strength that was prior patch whether it works on minions or not. i'm going to say unconfirmed. The wicky specifically calls out that its enemy champions. And i had had heard it before. It was against enemy champions. Even though the patch itself doesn't say this again unclear patch notes. This is why we're highlighting enough. So the heart is weird is so this is supposed to be a power shift because riot list this has w base damage increased. Now they did increase. The base damage on one aspect of this is w on hit damage and that sounds great right okay. His on hit damages up. The only part that they changed is the on hit damage. After use your w and it did not kill the target and you now are on cool down. Get five seconds of bonus on image.

Why WarioWare Gets It Kind Of

"So let's get started with the first topic of this week. That is warrior. Wear get it together. This is out on friday. Which is tomorrow if you're listening on. The this podcast is released marks review the game and i have been playing the game for wiki and gameplay capture support and. Tom gave it a seven. Would you like to give a quick summary on why you gave. Were you aware that score. Yeah so i. I've always liked lawler warrior games. I've smooth moves on the was also the game game before before that. Were like to my favorite kind of party games. Played less of the ds ones just to kind of like. I know that this is kind of where some people are coming from his like. The camp of the hand held. Gloria wears which were always more solo experiences versus the camp of the console warriors. Which were always more birdie games. Or it's how i read it at least maybe that's just my impression anyway. I reviewed this. Wanna give it a seven because it is a really fun. Wacky warri aware. It's really pretty music. The art design is really really good. Micra games are very fine. The characters are like hidden basically like and like the character system. Okay but some of the character designs are just like really. Were like verge like there's a person that can fly and shoot one direction and then there's version of that person that shooting one direction but just can't stop jumping and so there are just these cases where like some characters are objectively worse versions of other characters mess not like interesting or fun and it's just like oh that character is just bad and like i don't know it's just it's just not as engaging

China Bans Under-18s From Playing Online Games for More Than an Hour a Day

"The gaming banned for minors in china. Now obviously it's a little bit more complicated but it's also not entirely unexpected this new law supersedes twenty nine thousand nine rules that allowed ninety minutes per day and forbade playing between ten pm and eight. Am with the justification back then being that well kids shouldn't be playing too many video games and they shouldn't be up late such that will affect their schooling. Which is i mean fair enough. But whether that is the rule of the state or the role of the parent is something that i think a lot of people would disagree about The twentieth nineteen measures also limited minors monthly spending on games to a maximum of fifty seven. Which appears to be unchanged. This new policy also enforces a policy requiring game companies to require players. Real names when logging it. I mean imagine. Imagine having imagine giving up your minor data protection laws in order to make sure that those miners who companies are now by law collecting information from are not playing too many video. Games that's That's an interesting double edged sword right there. The press release on state media said it is indisputable that indulging online games effects normal study life and teens physical and mental health. I could see that young. Chinese gamers are lashing out at the new rules. One objection sexual consent. It fourteen at sixty and you can go to work but you have to be eighteen to play games. This is really a joke. Know good observation as well. I don't think. I could have put it better myself now to be clear. There's nothing that the chinese government can do to prevent minor from playing a single player game completely disconnected from the internet. If there was. I'm sure they would be trying to figure out how to do that. In fact my understanding is that functionality. Like that could end up being baked into game platforms like the chinese version of steam. So that if you are playing a single player offline game Could theoretically be enforced. But my understanding is there's no actual enforcement or attempt to enforce any kind of rule like that. This is mostly focused on online
